So to be clear, you were never diagnosed with celiac disease, and your blood test for celiac disease was negative. Approximately 10x more people have non-celiac gluten sensitivity than have celiac disease, but there isn’t yet a test for NCGS. If your symptoms go away on a gluten-free diet it would likely signal NCGS. Also, feel free to share y...

This is probably the crux of GFCO's problems. Ingredients supplied to food vendors can be contaminated at any time, so batch testing every single batch should be required. This may cost more, but could prevent embarrassing issues like this from happening--10% of GFCO certified products failed their certification standards in this random test.

The findings from a study conducted by Moms Across America found gluten exceeding 20ppm in products made by Simple Mills and Made Good Foods. Celiac.com has reached out to both companies about the study, but so far has not received a response. To date, a formal recall for these products has NOT been issued. Key Findings - Gluten in "Gluten-Free" Products...

I contacted Moms Across America and found out that the lab used in this study was Health Research Institute Labs - https://hrilabs.org, and they used the Romer Agrastrip Gluten G12 test, which is highly accurate at detecting the 33-mer peptide of gliadin down to 4ppm. The scientists at HRI carried out the tests in duplicate to ensure accuracy and reproducibility...

In your initial post here you said: "I’ve been eating wheat and gluten again for three days and been fine. I was diagnosed wrong has this happen to anyone else?!", and the subject of your post is "Not Celiac." Were you diagnosed with celiac disease? It sounds like you were, but it's not very clear.

Definitely, I also had many of the symptoms you mentioned, including panic attacks and gluten ataxia--most of my symptoms improved after 2-3 years gluten-free. The most common nutrient deficiencies associated with celiac disease that may lead to testing for the condition include iron, vitamin D, folate (vitamin B9), vitamin B12, calcium, zinc, and...

Can you tell us more about the blood screening they did for wheat and gluten? Were these allergy tests, or was this a celiac disease blood screening? I ask this because if it was an allergy test then it would not detect celiac disease.

Many people with celiac disease, especially those who are in the 0-2 year range of their recovery, have additional food intolerance issues which could be temporary. To figure this out you may need to keep a food diary and do an elimination diet over a few months. Some common food intolerance issues are dairy/casein, eggs, corn, oats, and soy. The...

Always hungry since gluten-free?
Scott Adams replied to Jackie.C's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Have you considered increasing the fat content of your meals? Increasing the fat content in meals can help individuals with celiac disease feel less hungry by providing longer-lasting satiety, since fats digest more slowly than carbohydrates and proteins. Here are five healthy ways to incorporate more fats into a gluten-free diet: Include sliced... -

I agree that gluten should be declared in the ingredients just like wheat and other allergens, it would make life much easier for us. While there have been some instances of non-compliance, the FDA monitors and enforces regulations to ensure that gluten-free products meet the required standards. Non-compliance can result in enforcement actions, including...

Gluten Cutter pills
Scott Adams replied to EpTor's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I can't speak for that brand specifically...there are many such products on the market, but I would only consider ones that contained AN-PEP enzymes, as there have been many studies done on AN-PEP which show that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches your intestines. One of our sponsors here, GliadinX includes AN-PEP... -

Good questions, and we're trying to find out more about what lab did the testing for the study, and we've also reached out to the GFCO for comment.

I think you might mean this article: and it looks like there is already one lawsuit, an older one, regarding glyphosate level in gluten-free foods, but these findings could certainly lead to more, especially considering "The highest level of glyphosate - 2,963 ppb found in Banza Chickpea Pasta - is the highest amount ever measured in human food by the...

Green tea
Scott Adams replied to citina's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
You would likely need to contact them directly to find out. If you do, let us know what you find out. -
The results of a recent study indicate that not all products labelled gluten-free are safe, and perhaps the biggest surprise were the issues with products that were GFCO certified.

It looks like it is naturally gluten-free, and the only ingredients are decaffeinated green tea leaves. -
