  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Yep, that would be me! I have been totally, 100% gluten-free for over 3 years now, and my bloodwork has come down from way over 100 to the last result of 13 (within normal range), but the last biopsy last August showed complete villous atrophy still. There has been no repair in any way, and have been told there never will be. Also, last year they also...
  3. It also happened to me. I remember once in my early 20's, I was at work and all of a sudden the whole right side of my face went numb. Again, no drooping though. Again, I was told it was Bell's Palsy.......
  4. but I haven't been able to find them anywhere up here in Canada. Are there any Canadians that can tell me if they have found them up here? I want to start putting Connor on more gluten-free items slowly, but I have to do it where he really doesn't realize at first. I can use gluten-free noodles, but you can't replace the taste of KD cheese packets! Thanks...
  5. I also had a reaction to Cheetos a few weeks ago.... At the time, I couldn't figure out what it was, as I knew that Cheetos were listed as gluten-free, but now I know they must have CC issues.....
  6. Karen = #1 celiac. Thank you for being my friend :)

  7. Hi Moonunit, Have you considered turning to Enterolab for answers? If you are going to put money out anyway, maybe Enterolab will give you some answers that the medical establishment doesn't want to bother looking for..... Hugs and good luck! Karen
  8. Besides, if I start praising the virtues of all the uses for Vaseline, I could REALLY, REALLY get in trouble!!!! LOL!
  9. Don't worry, it would only be temporary! I have a Mike Myers' type voice inside my head saying: "OH, BEHAVE!!!" (It must be a message from one Scarberian to another). He grew up 5 minutes from my place in Scarborough...... Hugs! Karen
  10. Gotta keep my straightjacket on, it is a full moon, ya know! Hugs! Karen
  11. You have a point there. That's exactly why I use Vaseline. I trust it. Nothin' fancy about it. But hey, take my advice with a grain of salt! After all, I am the one who praises the virtues of Preparation "H" Cooling Gel under the eyes for puffiness! It's as good as a spa treatment! Hugs. Karen

  14. Jenvan, You would be amazed how well it works (Prep H). When I have really bad bags under my eyes, I put the Preparation H Cooling Gel on my eyes the night before and "Presto"!!!, next morning, they have gone down considerably........ I kid you not! It is a well kept secret in the modelling world - almost all models use that trick...... Karen
  15. Yep, I get that sometimes when it feels like I am pooping out Tabasco Sauce!!! Karen
  16. Oh yep, you just described me to a tee...... From the time the urge starts, I have at most 10 seconds to make it to the can or else...... Also, my collagenous colitis is quite nocturnal and wakes me up around 2 a.m. and I am up going constantly until around 6 a.m. until it settles down then I usually doze on the couch till the kids get up...... Karen
  17. Maybe he was on massive doses of vitamins and supplements due to his inability to absorb. Perhaps the "pills" he is talking about is actually vitamins and minerals. Regarding the tube in his stomach, I wonder if he had a colonoscopy (is that's what it's called when they remove part or all of your bowel and bypass it with a tube?). Perhaps he had many...
  18. I use Altoids. I know they are gluten-free although I read somewhere that their gum is NOT gluten-free. Here is a list from delphi: http://forums.delphiforums.com/n/mb/displa...iac&msg=39527.1 I have not tried any gum as I don't really like gum....... Altoids is made by Kraft and they have a very good policy of listing gluten..... Karen
  19. Hi Deb, Don't know too much about it but I do know that polyps are quite common. I have had a few removed myself with my first colonoscopy. My supervisor at work, who had a colonoscopy a few months ago, had several removed. And she doesn't even have any bowel problems, this was just a "preventative maintenance" kinda colonoscopy..... Keep us updated...
  20. When I first read this thread's title, celiac3270, of course, you came to mind immediately. Nausea thankfully has not been one of my symptoms. But I want to caution you to make sure that if you are continuing to take nausea medication, make sure you check on its gluten free status. There are quite a lot over the counter medications that are NOT gluten...
  21. I also get them, and even though I use Pantene, which is gluten-free, I find they don't really go away..... It also doesn't have anything to do with the time of year, either, they are pretty much there year round.... I especially get them most often by the temples and up by the forehead.... Karen
