I haven't read all the replies yet, but I read enough to see that a lot of people aren't really understanding the extent of your restrictions.
This isn't going to help with the short-term, but I would recommend you start socking away money when you can, and purchase a freeze dryer when you're able to do so.
That way you can prepare the foods that...
While I've never gotten sick from Cheerios, I choose not to eat them (well, maybe a little bit rarely). I do, however, allow them in my home for the non-Celiac family members to eat. I don't eat much cereal anyway, but I don't allow any non-gluten-free cereal in my house.
I don't feel comfortable enough with their sorting protocol to make them a regular...
I had my son tested back in 2009, primarily as a response to his declaration that "I'm never eating gluten again." He was 14 at the time. We had been eating gluten-free at home for a couple of years already due to my extreme gluten sensitivity (I never was tested for Celiac, although my doctor is convinced I have it), and he had trialed a gluten free diet...
I'm more comfortable buying TJ's stuff than things made from random companies where I don't know what their manufacturing practices are like. At least I know TJ's has policies in place requiring their manufacturers to use safe allergen-handling practices. Of course there's no way to know how well those policies are actually applied.
I figure every time...
I don't know, but according to their website, Nicorette is Gluten-Free. Maybe that would be a better route for you as you are trying to quit.
Good luck. I've never smoked, but my husband did for many years. He quit before I met him, but he says it was REALLY HARD -- and SO worth it. He quit a couple of times before it "stuck," but once he'd really really...
I use Singulair, which is gluten-free, and either Zyrtec or Allegra. I also use Visene-A for "allergy eyes," and when it gets really bad I add benadryl on top of it all at bedtime.
Keep in mind that the response from Lindt is from 2007. It's possible that the current 70% bar does not contain malt. I have looked at other Lindt products from time to time (their truffles used to be a favorite of mine) and the labels of the products I've looked at have all clearly stated "barley malt" as an ingredient. I haven't looked at their chocolate...
From traderjoes.com:
Clearly, everyone needs to evaluate his or her own needs and decide whether they are willing to consume products manufactured on the same equipment, or in the same facility, or only from dedicated facilities. As for me, this statement is good enough. If the equipment is cleaned between runs, and the product I'm eating doesn't contain...
The last time I read a Mrs. Butterworth's label, it listed Barley in parentheses under "Natural Flavors." While I appreciate the clear labeling on that bottle, I know not everyone is that good about putting Barley in the ingredients list. So I just avoid all artificial pancake syrups, and stick to pure maple syrup.
Maple syrup is not very expensive at...
