Going gluten-free "before" labs can get you a false negative. If you want proper Celiac testing you MUST eat gluten beforehand for a good few months to hope for more accurate testing.
It is VERY COMMON to feel like crap for a few weeks while you are "detoxing" from gluten. Yes, it is a toxin. And it is addictive as well. It fits nicely into our opiate receptor sites in our brains. That is why it is "comfort" food. It is a drug.
So ride it out, the yucky feelings will pass. It took me a good 6 weeks before I actually started feeling BETTER than I had in MANY years. Some feel better sooner. Hold on!!
OR eat gluten for awhile and get tested.

Im am feeling better today too. I had a bit of mucus, but none today. Mostly I want to see those gums regenerate. If it does that, then I will be a BELIEVER!!

You dont need a doctor's permission to put him on a gluten-free diet. It is very difficult to get a POS result on children under age 6 when they have ACTIVE Celiac. So getting any POS result is very TELLING. His little body is reacting to gliadin and likely gluten as well. When he is 7 you might very well get a POS for Celiac, but the damage could be horrendous by then. His ANA is elevated which shows inflammation. By age 7 he could have full blown autoimmune disease (Type 1 diabetes being most common in children with Celiac).
You have nothing to lose by trying him on a gluten-free diet and everything to gain at this point. I would nix dairy too until he is all healed. Then try reintroducing dairy to see how he reacts. A lot of people/children have to cut dairy till the tips of their villi heal.
You might also opt for a genetic test to see if you have Celiac genes. It does not dx Celiac, but is another piece to the puzzle. If your doctor says no, you can use Enterolab for genetic testing without a doctor's Rx.

Going grain free has been the best thing for me. I have not had D since and my food digests better (you can see the results in the loo). And I just feel better. I feel cleaner and not "yucky" if that makes sense. I personally do not follow SCD to a "T". But I am probably 90% following it. I allow the occasional sweet potato or plantain. I think removing the grains is key to the success of the diet.

It stands to reason some of the fatty acids could be absorbed through the mucus membranes of the mouth. Sublingually if you will. And many oils have antimicrobial activities, so it makes sense that oil pulling could kill off bad guys in the mouth. Also the friction involved in swishing could certainly remove surface stains and debris.
It is an interesting experiment. Day 6 for me. No negative feeling today. I have a close eye on 2 areas of my gums that I would LOVE to see regenerate. 24 more days to go with his test!

I only ever took 1 pill a day of the Neem I bought. 2 might be too much.

Let me offer this. With that TSH and that Free T3, it looks as Mother said that your pituitary is not working properly. A head scan is a good idea to look for a cyst or tumor near the pituitary.
With regard to diet: tuna everyday = A LOT of mercury. It has one of the highest levels. The experts recommend not eating more than 1 serving of fish like Tuna per week. Mercury inhibits thyroid. It blocks the uptake (and you dont have much floating around to begin with). Soya has anti-thyroid affects as well. And raw or undercooked cruciferious veggies inhibit thyroid too: broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, bok choy, turnips, etc. Should be well cooked to not affect your thyroid. Chick peas are also a anti-thyroid. Also, flouride blocks thyroid hormone uptake. We get it in our water and toothpaste. I have not drank city water or used flouride toothpaste in over 13 years and I have not had a SINGLE cavity in that time when I used to get them regularly when I was downing the flouride everyday. So I have no qualms recommending people take that toxic junk out of their bodies. Tom's has flouride free toothpaste that is gluten-free. So does Jason. Chlorine will also fit into the receptor sites for Thyroid and keep your from getting what you need. I dont drink/bath in chlorine anymore either.
Fruit actually supports the thyroid and you do need some iodine each day. Sea vegetables are a good way to get it.
So while at a glance your diet looks "healthy" it may be quite anti-thyroid. To support the thyroid: Lean meats preferably free range and grass fed, raw butter, virgin coconut oil (really supportive), all veggies that are not anti-thyroid, low sugar fruits if you can tolerate them, and nuts, seeds, whole grains in moderation.
I have a Phd in Holistic Nutrition, so I know a thing or too. BUT please google EVERYTHING I have told you to learn more for yourself.

Day 5 for me on oil pulling for me. If you have never heard of it, google it "oil pulling". It is an ancient Ayurvedic form of detoxification and healing. It boasts many claims and I am primarily using it to improve my teeth and gums (something it supposedly excels at). It is inexpensive, perfectly safe and cannot hurt. So I am giving it a go and I know a few others are as well.
Day one I used Virgin Coconut Oil from "Coconut Oil Supreme". It is simply the BEST coconut oil money can buy. It smells like fresh coconuts and is pure white. Everything else I have ever tried smelled a bit of "toasted" coconut oil and had an off-white appearance. It was most evident when I bought Coconut Oil Supreme and compared it to my other supposedly virgin coconut oil. Not so, most coconut oils are heated and that makes it "toasted". I want the good stuff!!
Anyway, Day one and two were with coconut oil and I noticed nothing.
Day 3, 4 and 5 have been with cold pressed sesame oil. I can honestly say my teeth are much whiter (just as people all over the net claim). It does whiten your teeth. The coconut didnt whiten my teeth. The sesame did.
With this I have had some "healing" signs with an exacerbation of old symptoms for a few days. Hopefully they will clear up soon and I can get on with healing!

The eyes are the widows to the "soul" not the "body".....LOL In seriousness, I've no doubt that every organ/tissue/cell can tell us something about what is going on inside of us healthwise. What I doubt is if these people can tell that. With many things I just go by my instincts. Detox foot baths....bunk....so I never tried it. Homeopathy...maybe...so I tried it. Iridiology....bunk....have not tried it. Acupuncture.....makes sense...so I tried it.

Keep in mind that 90% of the planet has black or brown hair......
I have brown hair.

I've been inspecting my poop for years.....LOL

The "bulging eyes" is a symptom of "hyper". You could have hashi's only IgG mediated antibodies. With Hashi's you can swing back and forth between hypo and hyper. YOu should see a specialist.

In my family we do not buy gifts for each other anymore, we all make donations to charity in the person's name. We usually donate to Heifer International, but this year we are going with Second Harvest to support all the people in the U.S. that do not have food.

Yes...the endoscopy will take biopsies to look at your villi. They do make certified gluten-free oats.

The Japanese also dont do dairy, so they dont have years of consumption of a non-human food (dairy) filled with antibiotics and Bovine Growth Hormone. They also consume mostly a plant based diet with meat being a side dish (the opposite of the U.S.). There are A LOT of variables!!!
But bottom line is the U.S. as a whole eats a horribly unhealthy diet. Just horrible. And we wonder why our children are so sick and so are we!! This isnt about blame. My parents didnt know any better. I am making the corrections that they didnt know to make.

"Better life through chemicals"........NOT!!! I have not eaten commercially prepared bread since I was a kid. In my 20's I got into health food. Even though I had no clue about the "gluten" I only ate whole grain bread free of chemicals. Or made my own. It goes stale faster......but I have been suspicious of chemicals for years. I use natural hygiene products, cleaning stuff, etc. I know I cannot avoid all chemicals. I would have to cross over to the afterlife to do that....LOL But I do my best. Latest research shows all the chemicals "Moms To Be" use like perfumes, nail care, hair spray, etc. are causing baby boys to be born with smaller penises and more estrogen. I think "phthalates" sp??? are the cause of this. I just read it the other day. Scary stuff. Likewise, I have not used perfume since highschool. I just cant stand the smell of chemicals!!

Your doctor can order them or you can get them on your own www.directlabs.com has them. It is a stool test and it is important that you do both a regular stool sample and a "purge" sample to get parasites that are further up in the tract.

Thanks for posting that thread Patti. It shows that some reacted HORRIBLY and some not at all. So I conclude that the levels of gluten vary per batch as stated and if you eat Sami's you are taking a crap shoot with your health.

Yes according to your bloodwork you have Celiac. BUT dont stop eating gluten yet!!! They will want to do a biopsy on you most likely and you MUST be eating gluten for it to be accurate. Otherwise is you have a biopsy on a gluten-free diet and they say you dont have Celiac because it is NEG it will be a FALSE NEG.
With your sister being Dx Celiac and your VERY POS bloodwork, you should be gluten-free for life. But wait till the specialist is done. Keep eating it now!!

Keep in mind Eric that each batch of their product could have varying levels of gluten. Let's say they run a batch of their full gluten product and then the pizza crusts right after. It would have more gluten in it than say 3 gluten-free batches later after a gluten product. I know you love the taste and convenience, but be on the look out for future reactions. It made my Celiac group leader horribly ill. It is a bit of Russian Roulette if you ask me.

I do modified SCD. I get kelp now and again with no issues. But my GI issues were minor to neuro. So if you have major GI issues best to do SCD by the book.

I agree. If you feel fine with milk and gluten seems your only problem. Stick with it!

What a relief!! And not that I hope other family members of yours have it, but if they do, you can ALL get healthy together. And eat at each others houses without worry. There are blessings along with the curse. May you find them all!
