I took the Neem for about 4 weeks then stopped. I have some leftover. I thought I might use them incase I ever get a stomach bug.
I am glad that the Neem helped you (even if a little). I can still get some bloat too if I eat something weird (I tried hemp protein the other day and bloated up). But eating my regular normal diet now does not cause me any bloat at all since the Neem.

Yes, many of us have multiple intolerances. I can eat a little bit of nightshade now (chili spice and red pepper). Before I could not. As I get better, I will add more back in.

I will add that Carla put this thread in the right spot as well.....Related Disorders & Research.
Consider this Richard. Auto-immune diseases are often triggered by trauma, stress, infection, etc. It is VERY POSSIBLE that one of these beds infested with TOXIC mold triggered someone's Celiac.
So that new Celiac comes in here looking for help because the gluten-free diet isnt working as well as hoped. They find this thread, check their bed and find mold. Get rid of the bed and get better.
How on earth could you deny someone (even one person) the opportunity to get well?
Celiac or no........
I didnt consider this thread a promotion nor a debate. I considered it to be posted by someone who not only wants to help herself, but genuinely cares about other human beings.
-
It was a short trial, but is suggestive of gluten issues. Could be Celiac, intolerance or allergy. You would need to stay off for a few months. Or continue to eat it like crazy and get all of the tests.

This company does:
Open Original Shared Link
But it is on backorder. I think it will be back in stock after Sept. 19th. Contact them to see. I am still waiting.
-
Im guessing not Carla.
Yeah, I found that post pathetic. The beds should have been recalled. How lame to go surfing the net for blogs with information about their defective beds and posting in a way that says we did nothing wrong, but we will make it right.

Make sweet potatoes your friend. They taste good. Full of nutrition and are so easy on the tummy. Same for pumpkin. Make a gluten-free pumpkin pie....yummy!!
And once your little one is born dont give into temptation then either. If you breastfeed, some Mom's report that their infants get sick (failure to thrive, loose bowels, etc.) when they nursed while consuming gluten. Not to mention when you "cheat" you damage yourself. Untreated Celiac can lead to other auto-immune diseases like diabetes, thyroid, MS and even certain cancers are caused by untreated Celiac.
This diet is for life and I know you want to live long enough to enjoy your child, watch them grow up and be a grandma.
-
You may discover the hard way that "cheating" doesnt make a vacation or holiday more fun....it ruins it. I dont cheat. I am not Celiac. I dont want vertigo and a migraine for Christmas.
-
Please do not eat gluten. You have Celiac disease. You would be hurting yourself and no one in here can tell you if it will hurt your baby. We cannot possibly know. Why would you risk it?
And, yes, miscarriage is related to Celiac. Please resist your cravings. Please. For you and your baby.
Learn to make gluten-free yummies at home for when those cravings hit. Pamela's makes some yummy easy brownies, cakes and cookies.
The doctor is right that as long as you start gaining 2nd trimester, all is well.
I lost 7 pounds in the first trimester with my daughter, but quickly caught up. She was 6 lb 14 oz at birth and 21 inches. Perfect.

It is time for a NEW DOCTOR.......Pronto!!! Before he kills you!!
My 12 y.o. daughter knows more about Celiac now than that clown.
If you can afford it, Enterolab and Kimball labs do genetic testing for Celiac. I used both. You dont need a doctor for them.
Also, if you have been gluten-free for awhile a biopsy will likely be negative as well.
You can use Enterolab for gluten intolerance up to 1 year gluten-free.

A caution on Eat Right 4 Your Type. I am A+ and supposed to eat tons of SOY, most beans and whole grain including wheat. I tried that diet and got sicker and sicker. I do not tolerate beans or grains. And soy gives me vertigo. No thanks!
I do much better eating a natural whole foods diet excluding many of the things D'Adamo would have me eating.
So if you try it, do so cautiously. It doesnt work for everyone.

This thread has some good advice. Not everyone agrees on the exact same thing in this thread. But it can help you do your own research and go with what feels right for you.
And GET YOUR DOCTOR TO TEST YOUR THYROID.
TSH should be under 3 according to the most recent guidelines. Get a copy of your labs to make sure the lab isnt using the old ranges. Mine still does.
If he will not do it, then get them yourself. Thyroid tests are not expensive. healthcheckusa has a good price for a complete panel. Antibodies too:
TSH
Free T3
Free T4
And both antibodies

Many on here have other intolerances and true allergies to foods to boot. I do not have any IgE allergies. But I cut out a lot of foods right after I went gluten-free. I have been able to add back in some things I missed as of the last few weeks. I did a specific supplement program to speed healing as well.
Google PepZin GI. Consider Biotin and SeaCure.
Hope this helps.

I always assume that any manufacturer could put gluten in their product. So......I ALWAYS READ. Even if it says gluten free, I check the ingredients. It has become habit. I dont eat hardly any processed foods anymore. So it is really just my spices, baking supplies and hemp milk I give the once over.
-
I dont drip mine. It is runnier. But I like it that way.

Naturopaths are often good people who mean well and do help a lot of folks. But like anyone else, they can be wrong.
Go with your intuition. It is there for a reason.
-
Yes, it is a marketing tactic. Gluten Free is becoming more main stream and people are actively looking for gluten free items. So by putting that on their product, they hope to get the sale from the manufacturers who do not label as gluten free. Eventually they will all say that.

ALA raised my blood sugar, so monitor yourself.

See if you can get an endoscopy (with biopsies) as well as the colonoscopy. They might not since the blood was NEG. Likely they would not test her for Celiac genes either because of this.
But you can also use Enterolab. If you can afford it, get the gene testing done as well.

When I get CC my first reaction is vertigo. I have had vertigo for over 12 years. It has nearly disappeared gluten-free (and grain free). But if I get some, I get the vertigo. For me it only lasts a couple of days followed by a migraine. Thankfully it has only happened twice in the past 5+ months. Before gluten-free I would have migraines 2 times a month or more.
So this is a MAJOR improvement for me.
Hang on.....it gets better.

Nutritional deficiencies: Although a number of nutrient deficiencies can lead to canker sores, thiamine deficiency appears to be the most significant.
Deficiencies of iron, lysine, vitamin B12, and folic acid also can lead to canker sores. Several studies showed that nutrient deficiencies are common among recurrent canker sore sufferers than in the general population. A study of 330 patients with recurrent canker sores showed that forty-seven (14.2 percent) were deficient in iron, folate, vitamin B12, or a combination of these nutrients. When these patients' deficiencies were corrected, the majority had complete remission. Other studies have shown similar deficiency rates for the same nutrients and equally good response to supplementation.
***There are documented cases of "rebound scurvy" when people abruptly stop taking vitamin C. So it is possible that by stopping your vitamins, your body is not getting enough thiamine or the others now and your body has to "relearn" how to get it from your food (if you get enough from your foods and your body can break down your food good enough to extract them). The vitamins were giving the body what it needed daily without any effort on the body's part.
I used to recommend my clients wean off of vitamins (especially if they were mega-dosing).

A gluten-free diet can be VERY HEALTHY. Lean meats, fish, eggs, nuts & seeds (and their butters), all veggies and all fruits. Brown rice. Yogurt if he tolerates it. These foods are where REAL NUTRITION is.
Kids generally love sweet potatoes which are full of nutrition.

A lot of Celiac/Gluten Intolerant children are "picky" eaters and "addicted" to wheat. Wheat fills similar slots in the brain as morphine. Opiate receptor-active peptide fragments (exorphins) have been identified recently in casein and gluten hydrolysates.....(Google this and learn more). It is a vicious cycle. Things hurt and the wheat/gluten makes her feel better "momentarily"...then things hurt again...and on and on it goes......She will likely be less picky once she feels better.
Pamela's makes great cookies pre-made and mixes. The brownies are very good. Tinkyada pasta. My daughter preferred it to wheat pasta immediately. I have not found good crackers. Maybe someone else will chime in. Rice cakes are popular.
I you are willing to bake yourself, there are some great gluten-free cookbooks out there. I recommend "Cooking Free".
Make your own bread. The pre-made gluten-free breads arent very good. Although if you can afford it (and to have it shipped), "Island Bakery" in Sarasota makes excellent hamburger buns and sandwich bread. Their french loaf is also superb. I have sampled them all. All good. They will ship anywhere in the U.S. They bake to order and ship the next morning so it is FRESH. You can freeze the sandwich bread and they put parchment between each one so you can easily take what you need each time and not have it go bad.
There are other delicious bakeries throughout the US that will ship too.

Make sure the bread mix is gluten-free.
Most yeasts should be gluten-free, but read the label and call/email the company if you have to. It is worth it.
