Nomato makes Ketchup and BBQ sauce, but I have not tried them yet.
-
One of those un-tomato sauces had paprika. Paprika is a nightshade.
But this one is basically the exact recipe for Nomato:

When I used to want to lose weight (when I was heavy) I would cut ALL dairy and ALL sugar (I still ate fruit) and the pounds would just melt off........
That meant no sugar, syrup, honey, high fructose corn syrup, etc.

You are welcomed.

That really stinks!! Glad you dont.

If you have any kind of internal bleeding this could have made you more anemic. It could also be your adrenal glands. Auto-immune diseases (including those that attack the adrenal glands) go hand and hand with Celiac.
You need to go to a doctor ASAP!

You need a good lunch box that has thermal capacity and buy some of those reusable ice packs. Then you can take whatever you want. Or take a frozen gluten-free meal that will thaw and then you only need to microwave for 30 seconds or so.

Hi Kathy,
I cut out the nightshades too. You got it right....ALL peppers, tomatoes, tomatillos, potatoes, eggplant and tobacco.
Black Pepper is NOT a nightshade.
I found a product called "Nomato" which you could try to use on your gluten-free pizza. The Gluten Free Mall sells it. It is a bit pricey, but for that special treat. We like it on meatballs too.
I have been able to cautiously add back in small amounts. I LOVE LOVE curry (both thai and Indian). Only dong some Indian right now that has a pinch of red pepper. I have not braved an actual tomato yet (but I do miss them). Potatoes are out for me for life. They give me weird seizure type experiences in the middle of the night. No thanks!
As for B12 I found Pure Encapsulation's B12 liquid sublingual. It has glycerin and stevia and no fake sugars. I also use a topical by HPL (Health Pro Labs).

Yes, I do the SCD baking. I have made a carrot cake and spice cake that were amazing. I use almond flour (meal). Just made blueberry muffins and a (tastes like the real deal) grain free pound cake to take to a dinner party tonight. I am taking salad and pound cake. She is going to make a gluten-free chicken dish, but just in case I learn it could contain gluten (she knows about cutting boards and teflon even), I can have salad and pound cake for dinner....not bad.

The majority of hurricanes hit either Florida or Texas. I have lived in FL my whole life and I have lived through quite a few. But make no bones about it, if a Cat. 3 or higher is heading my way, I am leaving. I've got my family and everything else is just "STUFF".
Be safe.

It is a little cheaper than yours RiceGuy, but I might try yours next time and compare. This new company also sells the Macadamia oil.

It just doesnt make sense to cut out a natural healthy foods like fruit. Better to heal the problem. Antifungals are a start. Probiotics are a MUST.
That is why some that have cut out ALL sugars and starches still suffer with the Candida for decades. They arent feeding the good guys with natural foods like fruit. Throwing the baby out with the bathwater so to speak.
Getting rid of any starches you do not digest well is very important.
That is why the SCD diet works for so many. It gets rid of the starches/sugars that have a negative effect, keeps the ones that feed the good guys, adds healthy probiotics and actually fixes the problem.
I am doing fantastically on it. Honestly, I have not felt this good that I can remember. I also added some anti-fungals (Neem, GSE and soon Oregano Oil) while supplementing with mostly acidophilus (acidophilus sporogenes which effectively populates the intestines) but also some bifidus (I tested a little low on this vital bacteria).
I do not follow SCD to the "t", but about 95% and it has really helped me. And if you find the SCD thread you will see it is helping others too.

They did say that healthy people should not stick to a gluten-free diet as they do not get enough fiber and B-12.
Such poor information. B12 doesnt come from gluten foods unless they are fortified. Doh!!
And there is plenty of fiber in fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, other grains........
That is what I hate about these programs....filled with stuff that is only 1/2 right or not at all.

I buy here now:

They blow Bob's out of the water. They grind to order, so it smells so fresh. And is a finer grind than Bob's. Makes delicious muffins and cakes. SCD blueberry muffins with these are awesome.
But.....you asked....not my fault you will be adding another "splurge" item.

My entire grocery run is a "splurge"......LOL
I literally work for food. Years ago, DH said if I made enough money to cover our food, he could cover the rest. At first it meant just working part-time, but then my food needs got more expensive. Then came the supplements. So I had to paint more and sell more of my art. Luckily, people like what I do, so I can afford to eat well.
Wild Caught Salmon
Repunzel Chocolate for Hubby - I dont eat it
Organic Grass Fed Beef
Scallops
Wild Caught Shrimp
Coconut Oil
Organic Olive Oil
Macadamia Oil
Organic Almond Butter
Organic Turkey Breast
Almond Flour from Digestive Wellness - Theirs is the best I have found so far
Hazelnut Flour from Digestive Wellness - Even more pricey....but oh so yummy
Bout the only thing I buy that is cheap is frozen cauliflower, squash and brussel sprouts. I dont buy organic on these because they are very low on the residue scale. And my plantain chips are cheap.
You dont even want to know how much I spend a week on groceries for a family of 3.......

You might try adding a few ounces of George's Aloe Vera (it is the only one that doesnt taste bad...tastes like water). This should help with the C and it heals the intestines.
It sounds like you are making some headway though.
I dont think the Neem killed off ALL of the bad guys in me, but def. the ones making me bloat all of the time.
I have moved on to Grapefruit Seed Extract and it brought the bloat back a little, so I am killing off the next tier. The probiotics are helping a lot here. No bloat today, so I think I have won this "battle" as well. Next is a round of Oregano Oil.
I really am feeling quite good lately.
Yesterday, I got groceries, cleaned the entire house and washed the two dogs. And I was tired at night.....but fine. Couldnt have done this before.
Also my eyebrows and lashes are fuller. I know this isnt a major thing.....but I will take it. It shows I am healing.
Have not had undigested food in my potty for a good 2 weeks. This IS MAJOR!!
Just going gluten-free was not the entire answer for me. But I now know I am on the right track.
Godspeed.......

Sometimes our bodies just flat out reject "unnatural" foods. Sticking to unprocessed whole foods is best for your body. But if you want these man made treats now and again, just eat a little to do your body a favor. Also, a lot of people are intolerant to soy in general.

Do look into he Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD). It has helped so many.
Some posts in here can make you feel depressed. But I believe in staying positive and finding the solution.
When a doctor told me I could be dead in 6 months because I had atypical cells on my cervix, I thanked him for his knowledge and then did my own research. I completely cured myself using natural means. That was nearly 8 years ago and 16 perfect PAPs later.
Dont ever believe that there is no hope and you will fight something forever. That kind of thinking will never help you. Stay positive.
I think it is smart to get the medical perspective, but also research on your own and go with what your instincts tell you. There are there for a reason.

Your symptoms are typical. Lots of fatigue (it is hard work for the body to heal damage). Energy is going to finally healing you. Once you reach a certain level of healing, you will have MORE energy than you had before. Extreme hunger.....your body is finally absorbing nutrients and it is making up for lost time (and needs those nutrients to facilitate healing). These are good signs and they will pass. It is different for everyone. It took me a good 6 weeks to reach that turning point.
I was even waking up in the middle of the night starving. Talk about annoying. But it did go away and I feel much better now.
-
You are correct. You will need to go back on gluten for a good 3-4 month eathing 3-4 slices of bread a day (or the equivalent) to hope for a positive result at this time.
Enterolab testing does not require you eat gluten, but your insurance (if you had any) would not cover it.
You can also opt for genetic testing since your sister has Celiac.
You already have your answer though. Do you really need a piece of paper to tell you that not eating gluten makes you feel better?

If you do enough research, you will find that some practitioners believe we need fruit to feed the friendly bacteria in the gut. And that by "starving" the candida, you are also starving the very bacteria you need to overcome the fungus. And if at anytime you try to resume a normal healthy diet, the candida come back.
I agree with this hypothesis.
I do not believe that you need to fight candida for life. Our bodies have an AMAZING capacity to heal. I have seen it in my own practice (Phd in Holistic Nutrition but no longer consulting for a living).
There are many things you can do to overcome candida without eliminating ALL fruit. Fruit is healthy and should be included in a normal diet. Our ancestors likely ate a lot more fruit/berries (easy to digest, easy to harvest) than vegetables (which are harder to digest, require prep).
I agree with eliminating some starches. Especially the ones that are hard to digest and just sit in the digestive tract partially digested (feeds candida and parasites).
The SCD diet has yielded great results for MANY families. It is a safe diet. Includes healthy fruit and gets results. It is naturally gluten free.
You can also add grapefruit seed extract to kill candida plus probiotics (very young children need the bifidus strain even more than the acidophilus). But you should include both.
2 THINGS:
Please do A LOT of your own research and do not take the advice in these forums as facts.
Believe that your daughter can heal. Do not get depressed or plant a seed in her that she will have this for life. The majority of people heal from candida just fine.

There is NO Coconut in Stevia. Stevia is an herb. Buy refined pure stevia.

And dont forget plantains. Here in Tampa I can buy them whole and ready to bake with nothing added to them. We have a large Hispanic population that supports these yummy foods. But see if you can get them.
Sweet Potatoes are in the Morning Glory Family. So eat up!!!

If you can swing it, I would get the stool and genetic with Enterolab. And it sounds like SCD is your answer (which is naturally gluten-free). SCD is a very healthy diet, especially once you get through the introductory phase and can eat everything allowed on the diet. It is working great for me.
Does This Sound Like Candida?

I do not know exactly what diet you are on. What are you eating?
