If your doctor will do that...then great! Most wont with a neg blood test. But in NEVER hurts to ask.
I have become my own doctor. My physician is just an adjunct to my own care of myself.
And Enterolab tests more than genetics. They test fecal for antibodies to gluten/egg/soy/dairy.
-
You can contact Enerolab directly. I did the genetic tests about 4 months ago.
I tell my family that I have the genes for gluten sensitivity and that my doctor recommended gluten-free diet. I did Enterolab on my own. I just have a supportive doctor. But my family dont personally speak with my physician. I could tell them whatever I want to make them understand. I am not going to photocopy my records to show my family just so they believe me.
Ask your doctor for a copy of ALL of your lab records. It is your legal right. Then come back in here and let us know what they tested.

Have you eaten tomatoes recently? Several people I know have had the same symptoms as you recently, including myself. I have a feeling it's related to the salmonella outbreak somehow. I thought I was having a food reaction but it lasted for days and wasn't fixed by diet.
I have been having bloating and D for a few days myself and I know I was not CC. I made cilantro dressing and ate it for a few days. They are now thinking the Salmonella could be tomatoes, cilantro and other ingredients in salsas too. I am wondering.......

After watching a report years ago about all of the nasty bacteria and fungus that grows on leftovers in the fridge (and the amount of nasties is just staggering), I simply will not eat anything past the 24-36 hour mark. My husband laughs about it. But I wont touch it if it has been in there longer than a day or so.

If your food isnt getting absorbed then your body is still hungry. This is why.
I like peppermint tea as well for this sort of thing.

Welcome!
Did you get your iron/Ferritin checked? Runners often become anemic.
Did they test total IgA to see if you were deficient (and if you are) therefore making the Celiac panel useless???
You would need IgG testing then.
You could still have Celiac with a negative blood test. There are many who have neg. blood/pos. biopsy and visa versa. But you will need to STAY ON GLUTEN for the biopsy to be accurate (and even then it can be patchy damage and they might not catch it).
You could also just be gluten intolerant.
Either way, the cure is the same: A strict Gluten Free diet
You can push for a biopsy and see if your villa are damaged.
You can pay Enterolab for genetic testing and stool testing.
You can just do the diet and see.
It depends on whether you a. want to get well no matter what or b. need an official diagnosis to make you comply to the diet.

I believe that can indicate liver problems. You should talk to his pediatrician right away.

Have you been overly stressed lately? Your adrenals could be tired. If you google "adrenal fatigue" you can see if this sounds like you.

I honestly dont miss all of that stuff. I am lucky.
I dont cheat.

You really need tests first because you can make it worse if you take things for thyroid without addressing a low adrenal state. Yes to a nauropath!! They can help you with both thyroid and adrenal. Dont delay!!
-
Girl!!! Get your thyroid tested right away!!!! And dont settle for a "normal" on the TSH if it is above "2". Most do best with it under "1" and some (like me) need my TSH fully suppressed to not have your symptoms.
If your doc. will not listen or order Thyroid panel, order it yourself at Healthcheck or directlabs.
And if you test hypothryoid, I recommend Armour natural. But by all means, get yourself out of hypo state even if you have to take Synthroid.
You can PM me if you need more information about Thyroid.

I figured it out though...so what does that say about me.

I think I am going to try that sweets, scotch, & butter diet.
Sign me up too!!

Yes, you need the IgG testing for antigliaden and TtG. I had those done as part of a complete celiac panel.

Thanks CeeCee!!

Either Celiac or Gluten Intolerance can cause deficiencies.
Blood tests are notoriously inaccurate. And biopsy is too because damage can be "patchy" and if they do not take a sample from a damaged spot, it will look negative.
Having a family history and a celiac gene doesnt mean you have celiac. But if you have symptoms and a pos. with Enterolab, then I suggest trying the gluten-free diet.
The best way to know is by trying the diet. If you eliminate gluten and your symptoms improve or go away, then you have your Dx.

Thanks everyone. I am going to try the boil for 2 minutes and let sit turned off for (whatever amount of time they recommend) next time. I just bought fusili. Will see!!

I agree that we are all individual. Not long ago I saw an interview of a man in his 90's who said the secret to his longevity and good health was lots of sweets, butter and good scotch.....LOL That diet would kill me.
-
I just made the Banana Ice Cream and Toasted Coconut Bites. Waiting for them to freeze more...but I sampled....Yummy!!!!
Let me know about the cake. I am avoiding eggs right now, so I am trying to figure if my regular egg subs will work for the cake.

As a recovered bulimic, I can attest to my bing foods being very high in gluten. My favorites were: Pizza, Captain Crunch, Donuts and Pasta. Very high gluten!! And I never threw up. I used laxatives/exercise to purge. I will say that these foods made me feel horrible. But I wanted that pain to mask my emotional pain. It was a very deliberate thing. Perhaps I, on some level, picked these gluten foods because they made me hurt the most.
-
I have read that it is the other way around.....a gluten sensitivity can lead to anorexia/bulimia. It could be because gluten causes upset and a person develops an aversion to certain foods...and then food all together....or they binge on gluten foods and then throw up. OR anorexia/bulimia has been tied into certain vit/mineral deficiencies. So if you are deficient because you are gluten intolerant...this could lead to these diseases.

CeeCee,
Would you mind posting your Pumpkin Muffin recipe.
Deciding Not To Pass The Gene?

We ALL have genes that can have negative health consequences (if triggered). Unless there is a perfect family out there that has never had a single disease all the way back through generation after generation where everyone just dies of old age by taking a nap at 90 and never wakes up....
If I knew I had some weird gene that could make my child be born without a functioning brain, or with some horrific disease, then I might consider adoption. But Celiac is treatable anyway. So even if your child has the genes, gets triggered and gets dx celiac.....you know the cure.
