About Me

I'm Stef, a German, who immigrated to the US end of 2003. I was diagnosed with celiac 07/21/2004, 5 days before my 28th birthday. I'm also an examiner (author) for gluten free in Harrisburg (PA) for examiner.com. This is my page: http://www.examiner.com/gluten-free-213-in-harrisburg/stephanie-gilbert . If you have a gluten free news story to make celiac or gluten free more public, let me know B)

  1. Also the other thing I wanted to say that while EnteroLab is STILL a test, even if it’s not considered a gold standard. It will still show results and the results are not wrong. It’s be enough for me to stick to the glutenfree diet. That alone together with your reaction to gluten should be enough to convince you. Because why would the test show something, if...
  2. I still remember you from back when. I think, I joined the forum in 2004 and after it worked for me I stopped commenting. That was roughly around 2008, so we cross crossed. Anyways, since then I’ve been doing well. However I’ve had something you’ve been describing whenever I’ve had accidental glutening and these last two weeks (which is why I came here to...
  3. Hi Aleka, I'm not diagnosed with CKD (yet), however I've been coming back to this forum (I've been one of the major contributing members here 9 years ago) for the last week and lurking around for more information on what my new problem is. I've also been doing my own research for about a little more than a month now, because the dark circles under my eyes...
  4. I walked into one of those doctor centers for poor people two years ago for a nasty flu. The doc n I got to talk and I asked her, if the medicine was glutenfree. She asked, if I had celiac. I said, yes, and that it was not heal able. She said, yes it is. I said, no it isn't. She said, yes it is, they have things you can take for it. 8-(
  5. I get real bad sciatica every time I'm glutened and when I'm glutened only. I thought this was really weird, until I saw this post. Apparently not. I feel a lot better now, knowing that apparently I'm not the only one. Oh, and I can crack my own back and fix it with that. And same as julie, the MRI didn't show anything. And I have a very strong back, too...
  6. I never had a problem with the Frappes listed, but then again I've never been to a cafe location (what is that? never heard of it!), just the normal McDonald's. Stef
  7. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  8. I also think that it's possible to die from celiac disease, if you don't pay attention what you put into your mouth. If nutrients and vitamins are missing for a few years all possible organs can shut down. Like with me I had severe muscle weakness while being undiagnosed. The heart is a muscle, too. What, if it stops???
  9. My grandmother also died of colon cancer and some other cancers and my mother just mentioned couple of weeks ago, that she, once again, has had some polyps removed. She almost has all the symptoms i have. I'm pretty sure, she has celiacl, too. But you know, some parents always know everything better. She ignores my suggestions and doesn't get any test to...
  10. Hi there, i believe nausea is one symptom of celiac. When i had my beer accident couple of weeks ago i felt so gaggy, it wasn't even funny anymore. The first day it was so bad, that i thought i had to through up every time i left bed. I almost crawled to the toilet. Stef
  11. Hi there, i bought Shredded Mozzarella Style cheese last week. And they say No Gluten, MSG, Cholesterol on the bag. The brand was Lisanatti and they have "Lisanatti Premium Soy Sation" on the bag. It tastes really good. I mean i like it. I got it out of our local health shop. Greetings, Stef
