  1. Made chicken parmesan, side salad and steamed asparagus.
  2. My youngest son and I don't eat Kind bars because of the cc from gluten free oats. My oldest son is fine with them.
  3. It might be a good idea to ask for the full celiac panel to be redone. So many people do not get the whole thing done. These tests include: total IgA, IgA/IgG tTG, IgA EMA, IgG/IgA DGP. Also when you have your scope you need to make sure the endoscopist takes a minimum of 8-10 samples from the small bowel alone(in different spots). They will biopsy the...
  4. Not before diagnosis. But a year later I developed it. Long story short I discovered I was reacting to gluten free oat cross contamination in gluten free products. I went on prescription creon and ate very clean and in three months time it cleared up. If I get CC's from gluten now or oat CC then it comes back. I just had my gallbladder removed on...
  5. I was reading up on a condition that a patient of mine tonight had and I thought it might be worth mentioning. antipospholipid antibody syndrome From what I read it is autoimmune and can be found with other autoimmune conditions/diseases and can cause blood clots. Here are a few links if you google it you can find a whole lot more on the subject...
  6. Hi, I hope all is well. Do you know of any support groups in the Johnson City area? Or any people that get together to share recipes and experiences? Thank you

  7. Heya,

I was reading in a recent post that you react to gluten-free oat contamination, yes? Would you have any suggestions for brands to avoid or brands that have been safe for you? Trying to find some for my daughter. :-)

  8. My 10.5 year old had been complaining he can't fall asleep for the past few nights and that he is tired after school. He is currently doing a trial of gluten free and has been completely gluten free since Monday. Not sure if it is related or not...hmm
  9. Even with the gluten free contrast diarrhea can be a side effect but there is also a chance what you got wasn't gluten free also. Stay well hydrated. It is not abnormal to have whiteish stools as you pass it. If your symptoms don't ease up after several days you can always consult your doctor.
  10. I don't know if this is an OCD tendency but my 6 year old was abnormally focused on his shoes. He didn't like the color, they were too tight/loose, he didn't like the velcro/shoe strings. etc. He would throw outright temper tantrums every day when it was time to put shoes on. The only ones he wanted to wear was flip flops so I threw them away last year...
  11. Just got the official dx of this today. I have suspected it for a few years. Now the doc had me do some other tests for other autoimmune problems. This makes autoimmune disorder #3. Man I must have been at the end of the line when it came to genes!
  12. I was 35 when I was diagnosed.
  13. Just thought I would post some updated information on the CT barium. I inquired with this company because I am having a scan tomorrow and this is the brand we have in our department.
  14. For me it doesn't matter what kind of soda I drink diet or regular they all will bother me. I don't tolerate the carbonation very well. I do splurge though and drink a sprite every now and then.
  15. Just to say that if you get a gluten free ct barium, don't be suprised that you might still get diarrhea from it. It is a common complaint.
  16. This makes for some interesting reading. I have found some things referencing lyme. What was your reaction to the lumbrokinase? Was it a die off reaction? It is interesting what the lumbrokinase is made from. http://www.twofrogscenter.com/lyme_earthworms.html http://www.healthdetectives.com/thehealthdetectives/id26.html http://www.natmeds.net/index...

    Allergic To Spouse?

Are you looking at other potential things that may be causing cross contamination? I am the only one in my house gluten free and what I thought was working, has turned out to come back and haunt me in the last 1-1 1/2 months. I really got to paying more attention to everyones habits and found lots of potential problems. I am addressing those now. It sucks...
  18. has not set their status

  19. Both oral contrast agents are good for ct scans. I believe redicat does have an unflavored one it just depends on what the radiology department has. Unless you have a sensitivity or allergy to the additives/flavorings the flavored ones should be alright. You can always call ahead and ask. We use the water soluable (gastroview) on our emergency patinets...
  20. The ct barium is sorta the consitency of well um, snot. It can give people diarrhea as it seems to be a common complaint I hear from my patients. There is contrast you drink that you mix with water and it causes more water to be drawn into the bowel. It can give you the D too. The thick barium they use for the upper gi series, barium swallow, small bowel...
  21. It could be the cinnamon flavoring. I used to have trouble with cinnamon life but not the regular before going gluten free. I have not had an issue however with the cinnamon chex.
  22. Are you refering to an afrin type of nasal spray? Regular saline is quite effective for allergies since it clears out the passages. You need to do it a few times a day. Works wonders on my boys.
  23. How long has it been since your husbands vasectomy? It is not very common but the vas, depending on the technique, can recanalize(grow back together). As we all know it only takes one.
  24. lisa25 I just wanted to say when I looked into threelac it was over three years ago. I believe there has bee more research and reviews since then. Here is an interesting review that presents both the positive and negative aspects of threelac so consumers can make a better informed choice. http://www.yeastinfectionadvisor.com/threelacreview.html
