    I was in Italy in 2002, two years after I was diagnosed with Celiac. I found that they are well versed in Celiac Disease. The meals that I had were terrific and I never went hungry from not being able to find Gluten Free food.     Have you been tested for thyroid disease? A year after my diagnosis of Celiac, I tested as also having hypothyroidism. As so many people state here and elsewhere, if you have one autoimmune disease, you are likely to have one or more of other AI diseases.     I get furious when I hear Celiac Disease and Gluten issues being tossed around in the media, sitcoms and else where, which leave the lasting impression with individuals who know NOTHING about Gluten Intolerance and especially Celiac Disease.     I am surprised thart people cheat. When eating out I ask to see manager or head chef and we discuss Celiac dietary needs. IF i get crosscontaminated I WILL throwup and get a train roaring headache. Hence I never ever ever cheat.
