quick question, do you think Kelloggs Australia will EVER create a gluten free cerial??? Every cerial they have here is not gluten free, I was checking through their website (www.kelloggs.com.au) and noticed that there is nothing on it about gluten free....
Cheers
Ty
Yeh they suck
Hmmm I am a business major and I have emailed Kellogs and Subway about the money they could make by simply introducing gluten free options... it is feasible I think they just haven't thourght of it or suspect there is not a market for it... even when there is.
AS THE true amount of people with this disease eventually gets diagnosed i guess we can only look forward to more options

thanks for the reply. I guess I am not doing it.
I am not so desperate for a quarter pounder that i could deal with the social awkwardness of walking to the counter and asking for a "burger without a bun"
or explaining what coeliac disease is too the 400th person who doesn't know or get it and just thinks I am some sort of a weirdo
-
thanks gluten-free
Over the week I was away and had a heavy social schedule with friends I expected neuro symptoms simply because they pop up when sleep depraved but I got none was very happy
My total hours of sleep in three days was 6 hrs and had no balance issues. I was boating, drinking, and pushing boats on to trailers, swimming canoeing fairly active
Basically if my body decided to go retarded and make me lose my balance i would have been screwed but thank god nothing happen. I can only put the no symptoms too down to being gluten free
-
so guys is there gluten in the actual fry or potato chip
or it only comes from the cooking of it? and contamination of oil
-
Throwing this question out there to people alot smarter than me...
I am pretty sure there is not
Just wondering if anyone can share some experiences!
-
Is this considered safe or not save? If gluten is set in the bun then it couldn't really get on the meat right?
opinions on this?
I am serious by the way I love all kinds of meat and really have been struggling to stop doing this but thought id check with others first

So after starving all weekend and being offered everything from chips, to shapes to chicken parmas I held out, and starved it was not easy.
On the way home we find a hotel. I think SWEET i can finallyeat something that is not an apple a banana or a chocolate (country Victoria is not very coeliac friendly for the records there is sweet nothing to eat).
A steak and chips, it ruled, the chef knew i was celiac I told him I only wanted the chips if they could be gluten free and hge was apprently working on it... what are the chanes at a local country pub these chips were acutually gluten free?
-
thanks for the many posts here, looks like I finally know what is is, and it is realtaed to gluten as I suspected thank you!!!

Ive read that article perhaps I am being paranoid I am not sure 3 days gluten free now

It use to be alot worse before diagnosis but as the title suggests basically occassionaly I wake up facing the wall and I am greeted by a giant spider that looks oh so real... heart immediate starts to race "wtf is going on" etc... keep staring......and... its disappears.
The first time this happen I screamed the house down. Now I wake up I see the spider but simply wait 30 seconds or so and it disappears.
I have no idea what this is but I assume it is some sort of very weirdo hallucination. I never ever see nice stuff either... I wouldNT mind if i woke up and it was a hot naked chick or something... but not it has to be a massive spider or some sort of snake head.
I simply ignore it and it goes away but the spider is pretty much the same every time and I just wonder where on earth it could come from... haven't had it since being gluten free but only been gluten free 3 days or so.
I have never told anyone this or nor do I plan too... honestly its is the sounds silly and I am the one experiencing it. I just wonder if it related to gluten or any other celiac has encountered it?
It doesnt bother me a whole lot even when I am half asleep and I wake up these days I know its not real... but it doesnt stop it occurring when i wake up
Happens maybe once a month or so

Stay strong bud, eat your lunch, ignore them, there problem your looking out for yourself and thats what important.
PS: with those sort of options Im picturing overweight balding executives, cakes and chips for lunch lol. It sounds like they are the problem... they sound tubby or unhealthy at the least.
Just say your on a health kick man. I use the excuse all the time honestly... I have eggs and fruit/ salad for lunch most days, or gluten free chicken anyone questions me... I simply say body building...Or I want to slim my face out. No need to bring up gluten(as most wont understand the disease in a the few secs you explain it to them) I think just general health, let the tubbys eat their cake

I am right there with you. I have gone from one can of diet coke a day to three a day. I'm not sure why I have increased my soda intake so much. I just crave it. I have to have it first thing in the morning and it's like an addiction.
I drink alot of water too 4 litres of water generally around 2 of soda in an average day. When I exercise daily i go through 2 litres of water then, and the other two gets me through the day.
Sode is a treat I stick to pepsi max I think also because so many of my fav foods and lil pleasures have been eliminated I need something I enjoy putting in my mouth and that is definitely chilled pepsi max.
Thanks for the replys

Three days gluten free. today i feel aweful its not because of gluten though I am simply getting back into weights and exercise and my body is not use too it, we have lunch coming up in my runs put it that way but it is part of being healthy.
I notice I sleep better, what I am really excited about now is that protein absorption will be increased and I will get more muscle from the gym and feel less like poop.
I am very committed now since experience some small scary neuro symptoms. I take
Multi Vit
Vite D
Fish oil
b12 dailey
+ vitamin juice, with um C? and a few others... still got to work on the veggies but!
thanks for the replies this place is incredibly helpful. I have no one really to ask questions of, I think my doctor has a very loose grip of understanding on this disease too lol and the specialist cost $100 for a "chat"

I don't have ataxia, but I fear I have had symptoms of it 2-3 times while not being gluten free. I am now gluten three heh two days (longest so far)
And im simply worrying if I had mild ataxia or gluten ataxia was ever going to come it back will it simply go away now?
Hope someone can help this really scared the hell out of me into going gluten free.

What is CC guys?
I hadn't taken my vitamins for 3 days and now I have taken them again
I take daily most of the time when I am not lazy: d, multi, b12, fish oil
Yes Rafa V Roger was just one... I and most other Australians really like Roger Federer it was so sad to see him overcome with grief from his loss, bu Nadal is a terrific champ.
I took my vitamins and the dizziness has actually gone away. Do vitamin levals drop when your in a state of sleep depravation?
Minimal sleep last night and I am noticing I get these sort of symptoms when I have not slept adequate levals but sometimes when out, or when there is much to do its simply impossible to sleep for too much

Been diagnosed recently 22 years old... I FEEL AWFUL at the moment even with 3 days gluten free how long is it likely to take for my small intestine to recover... even an estimation would be appreciated I need a goal of target to shoot for besides forever to make it less challenging.
-
I have still be struggling with the gluten free diet but have been gluten free for the last 3 days. But today I feel TERRRRRRRRIBLE I had a gluten free pizza but after walking home I dizzy when i turn my head quickly as I did to check for cars on my walk home I got a vertigo like feeling. And when i place my feet I feel vulnerable like they wont go where I want them too because I feel dizzy.
In the last year or so I have had two other experiences like this, both are when I have been overtired or up in excess of 28hrs or so.
I have been diagnosed for a 1 year. 22 years old currently and male. I carry some weight to so maybe it could be related to that Anyone else experienced this.
I bought b12 vitamins just because I thought i may help. It comes from nowhere!

The ingredients look alright.
Some people say ice cream is gluten free and some say not who knows im eating in 10 mins

Is it possible that someone used your toaster for gluten bread, and you got some cross-contamination on your toast? Any other potential cross-contaminations?
Are you sure that you have not developed a reaction to dairy? I know when I get glutened, I have to avoid dairy for a week or so afterward, or I get unpleasant bowel-related symptoms.
I always avoid chocolate unless I know the brand or can read an ingredients list (which doesn't include something vague like "natural flavors" unless I KNOW the company's labeling policy). Barley is a very common flavoring in chocolate. All the Lindt brand chocolates contain barley malt, for example (these used to be a big favorite of mine).

The toaster was clean I know that... other cross contamination I doubt it. I dont think I have a reaction to dairy I hope not... i dont know where else I could find calcilum its just when my body does unexpected things i automatically suspect gluten... but i don't actually knew I am mostly asymptomatic so i cant positively say if I have or have not had gluten some how. I just suspect it based on bowl movements.
Yeh the chocolate is tricky I find cadbury are generally ok with labelling. I simply have top deck these days.
It is the first time I have stoped ignoring this disease and attempted to get gluten free and these deafeatest feelings are annoying lol. I wish there was someway of telling if I had gluten or not besides symptoms or a blood test everyday

Can anyone list me some good gluten free supplements.
And have you had any trouble losing/ gaining weight dealing with coeliacs.
Gym and undiagnosed coeliacs was pure hell for me and I think I realise that is why it was so hard getting to the gym im hoping now gluten free that my body will absorb more of my protein and il put on muscle.
I already have decent mass due to an endomorphism body type
98 kilos
182cm
and 16% bf
Im working on the BF with coeliacs there is not much to eat anyway so Il get lean and less carbs

I hit the vodkas and wines, even thought im a guy.
When im out I tend to try strange variations of shots considering most shots i tink are gluten free
-
I pretty much fall asleep and dont wake up.
before I was diagnosed I had had a big night on the beer went to bed at 4am and woke up at my friends at 6pm...
my friends literally thought i was dead and were nice enough to draw funny faces of me too lol

This is disgusting BUT
My stool never comes out abnormally unless ive had gluten. I have however been trying really hard to be gluten free since two days ago today I feel something has gone wrong and im note sure how what ive eaten:
flavoured milk (rung manufacter gluten free), gluten free bread, toast butter peanut butter
apple
mother energy drink- This is suss I had to put the rockstar energy drink back because I saw glucose. i didn't see glucose in this energy drink
gluten free lollies
gluten free chips
vit d tablet
multi vit tablet
fish oil tablet
I was fooled by a cream egg the other day ) not even a ingredient list on the wrapping and who honestly expects gluten in a freak choc egg
Can someone help

I have been trying to be gluten free and have been doing ok
11 days now which is my longest.
Today I had hot chips....they probably were cross contaminated i didn't even ask....basically I had been up for 35hrs without any sleep and starving and I thought basically stuff it im getting some chips.
Ironically 4 days ago I also had a slip up where I was told hot chips were gluten free but I dont believe they were.
As well as milk chocolate eggs, use to be gluten free... assumed they still were but they are not cross contamination BS or something
So 3 stuff ups in 11 days, and this is the only time since being diagnosed (one year) that I have even tryed to be gluten free. I feel like I am getting nowhere and I might as well go back to my favourite foods because I am getting gluten accidentally anyway, are these stuff ups complete tearing down any small progress I night have made>
