I can't use bug spray....I've got citronella candle by the pool and on my patio...hubs hates...oh well Ps...I've found those really pesky/weird placed bites come from bath/shower time or my favorite...I stick one leg out from under the covers to regulate my sleep temp and darned if I don't get bit on the exposed leg!
  5. Yummy.... Upon more thought...I will be using the crock pot brûlée recipe without the crock as I need to make eight custard cups next time. Tonight is steak and trater tot cheesy casserole of some sort...along with a mix of roasted veggies for me.
  6. PS...on the Crock Pot Creme Brulee Here is the recipe Irish found a few weeks back: http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2008/02/crockpot-crme-brulee-recipe.html Had a thought after I posted last night...if you can get custard cups to fit in your crock...that would be a far superior way to serve so as everyone gets to crack through their own carmelized...
  7. Crock Pot Creme Brûlée is a winner...hardest part was finding good dish to use in the crock...since I did that last week, this morning was easy. Will cook a tad longer next round....just hard to be specific with time because of variations in crock size, quantity of water, etc..but everyone enjoyed even though I thought it should have been more firm. ...
  8. Yep.....and a good friend whom made me laugh out loud several times -- always fun when the hubs looks sideways to see why I'm giggling! Lovely menu -- I may have to copy a few of those evenings. It is Sunday once again so Dad comes to dinner...this week the Crock Pot Creme Brulee made it into KFG first thing this morning -- even before my first cup...

  11. what shape are these cookie cutters????
  12. I literally dump: Sliced pineapple...my slicer makes thick slices which we like in this cake. Sprinkle good amount of Brown Sugar over pineapple Sprinkle one package yellow cake mix -- I've used all different brands..they all work Drizzle one stick melted butter over the works Bake for 20-30 minutes at 350 -- time depends on what size pan you use...
  13. Bike to Work Day in San Diego -- heading out now -- cheating a bit as I haven't been strong enough for my race bike yet so I am parking at the bottom of our hill and one of my boys is on stand-by if I need a ride -- but Hubs is proud of me none the less so life is good : ) Had the meatloaf dinner with pineapple upside down dump cake yesterday. Today...
  14. So best layed plans change. Made paleo pizza with cream cheese this morning and had about 8 oz left on the cutting board....so....men have a very nice small chocolate cheesecake...mixed the cheese with an egg, some sugar, touch of vanilla and some cocoa....best yet...had an indivdual pack of shar graham cookies that I threw in the dish for impromptu crust...
  15. Good Morning dinner peeps...feeling stronger today...although I'm awake at 3am cuz I was out too early yesterday and since we switched bedrooms....my husband refuses to shut the bedroom door so when son comes in from late shift at the movie theater he makes himself a second dinner....doh! Now I can't get back to sleep so I shall wait until Home Depot opens...
  16. While Karen was doing one of my favorite things...we spent the day moving! We are back upstairs...ground floor in our home...oldest is in our old bedroom which has its own entrance and bath....independence without us signing a lease So here's why I logged into the funny thread....plugged in the lamps in the new bedroom and immediately thought: ...
  17. My pool is my lifeline! Seriously, whether exercising in it or simply floating under an umbrella when the thermometer climbs (yes, I feel like Frosty the Snowman locked in the greenhouse). Our salt water generator cut out while Hubs and I were traveling so we returned to pond scum green pool...thankfully last week Hubs helped me drain and re-fill -- it...
  18. Am loving your weekly meal plan posts...Have fun at the Q today
  19. The young men loved the Tot Casserole -- they ended up making it because I was pooped. They doubled so there was a nice amount of left overs to freeze in foil packs -- to go off to work with them. Thanks Ruth! Tonight Dad is back at our Sunday Dinner Table - Yay? Anyway...there is always dessert when my folks come to dinner...so I just started this...
  20. Doh!!! Only laughing because I regularly pull similar tricks -- the men threaten to wrap me in bubble wrap -- I'd still find a way
  21. John is our hero....he made us laugh our asses off -- we like to laugh in this family. Then he passed...kid said, "I guess he decided gluten-free was too hard"...smart kids I have and hard loss for the inflamed. And...yes...the itchies...omg there is gluten everywhere will pass. Wash well before you eat and all is fine now...back to the regularly...
