While I have never beed pregnant, I have done research on the topic because i plan on someday haveing children. What I have found is that the best way to keep from miscarrying your baby (especially in the first trimester) is for YOU to be as healthy as possible. No drinking, no smoking, and eating as healthy as possible. For us, this means adhering to our diets with a strong resolve. Make the decision to do it, and then look at those foods you're craving as though they are poisonous. Allowing yourself to think they "won't hurt you that much" is wrong. Don't take that risk, even if you weren't pregnant, do that for yourself as well. good luck and i hope you found something that will satisfy your craving.

lm- the first thing i did when i brought home my loaf was pull one slice out and start eating it plain while making a piece of sugar toast with the other. hehe mmmm.... good!

where did you find this info? i can't find anything about gluten free on the website. i am very curious to see if they will keep these products
-
MSG does not have gluten so it is technically safe, but some people do not react well to it. for example, i am allergic to it. the reaction is different than a gluten reaction though. also, food guides are good to start off with but they are outdated quickly after they are printed so you can only trust yourself to read the labels, and do your research. some brands (all associated with General Mills for example) will clearly label all of the top allergens, including gluten. good luck and feel free to ask lots of questions

Once i went to chili's and ordered a sandwich without the bread. i explained i was allergic and just wanted the chicken breast (this was three years ago- before their allergen free menu) anyways... i went through my instructions and the seriousness of my allergies. my sandwich came out exactly as i ordered, with it came a salad with croutons. um duh!
i've been glutened from carrbas gluten free menu. being very specific is not always enough. proceed with caution

what kind of info are you looking for? i tried a cookie last night. katz gluten free chocolate chip cookies last night and they are yummy!!! i'll look em up and see if they have a website or something

Roben Ryberg's "You Won't Believe It's Gluten Free" is great. especially if you have intolerances other than gluten. Carol Fenster or Bette Hagman both are great writers. I have one book from each author and i use them both often for baking. That first one is the book i use most because she developed recipes using one or two alternative flours which makes things much easier. good luck searching!

My momma makes this and its delicious if you can do both eggs and dairy
take a casserole dish and line it with hash browns. we always used frozen hash browns but i dont know any gluten free brands off the top of my head. then put in eggs and sausage and cheese and any other things you night like. and she always baked it at 400* for maybe a half an hour or so. i would google it though to be sure becuase its been a long time since i made one
good luck. now you have me craving breakfast

ham or roasted chicken
mashed potato casserole (made with butter, sour cream, cream cheese and cheddar shredded on top and salt pepper and hint of garilc. yummy!)
green beans cooked with bacon
dessert is up in the air at this point, possibly namaste spice cake or GFP gingerbread

that last cake looks like it is going to just melt as soon as it hits your tongue. mmmm

pamelas baking mix can be used for regular recipes... but decrease butter/shortening by 1/3 (if calls for 1 cup use 2/3 of a cup) and either should work... another tip to prevent spreading is refridgerating the dough

Dad had my brother get him a second piece. I was feeling quite proud of my chicken as Dad was going for seconds. Then I watched him shred it to pieces and feed it to his dog (from the Thanksgiving table!!!). It was still a compliment as my Dad (who spoils this dog rotten . . . obviously) considered it good enough for the dog.
sounds an awful lot like my own father

you could go one further and thank her fr being gracious about not making a big deal of bringing your own food, for being understanding about it. then of course the other sentiments sounds perfect too!

i use nestle. they are a safe brand and have never had any symptoms with them. if gluten is your only issue then you should be good to go. enjoy life makes allergen free chips if i'm not mistaken so you might look into those if gluten isn't your only issue
-
I have eaten Rice Chex with no issues. Honey nut and chocolate chex however have made me feel sick. i havent gotten sick but have felt nauseous after eating them and had an upset stomach the rest of the day

This is my first thanksgiving as a family with my husband and it was a success. i made chicken and dumplings, using a regular recipe and just subbed domata flour and they were very good. cream dumplings that didn't overcook or fall apart like the last ones i tried. i'll definitely make it again
also i made a chocolate cheesecake from annaliese roberts cookbook wheat free recipes and menus. everyone loved that as well
my dinner rolls didn't rise as much as i would have liked. i just want light fluffy rolls that stay soft. anyone? please
haha overall thanksgiving turned out wonderfully and now i am looking forward to christmas

I am in the same boat as ravenwoodglass on this. for about the first 24 hours it gets very bad. i might cry endlessly or just lay there and do nothing but like her, i saw the connection eventually so i remind myself it will pass if i can just hold on. hope you dont have to go through that again.

on <pamelasproducts.com> there are recipes that use the baking and pancake mix
my favorite is the banana bread. it always turns out very well for me and it tastes wonderful
i would give that a shot

I tried the recipe with domata flour mix and it turned out pretty well. I made some as crescent rolls and some divided rolls. the crescent rolls were wonderful. the divided rolls did not rise at all so i will be trying a second time i am sure

My mom bought a bag of bread mix by kinnikinnik and was wondering if that would okay to use in a pie crust recipe. im not sure but i think a pie crust typically uses more xanthan. any other chages? thanks in advance

Easy Chocolate Cheesecake: (Carol Fenster gets credit for this)
1/4 C crushed cookies (for crust)
2- 8oz package nonfat cream cheese
1 C cottage cheese (1% is recommended)
1 C packed light brown sugar
1/3 C +1tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 C tapioca flour
1/4 C skim milk (i use 2% and its fine)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp chocolate extract (opt)
1/4 tsp salt
1 lg egg
2 tbsp gluten free chocolate chips (i use slightly more )
garnish w/ fresh fruit if desired.
1.) Preheat oven to 300* and grease bottom of spring form pan. press cookies into bottom of pan
2.) In a food processor, cream the cream cheese and cottage cheese until very smooth. Add brown sugar, cocoa flour, milk, vanilla, chocolate extract, and salt. process until smooth, then add the egg and process just until blended. Stir in chocolate chips. slowly pour over cookie crumbs in the pan.
3.) Bake for 1 hour or until it is set. let it cool in the pan on a wire rack, cover and chill for at least 8 hours or overnight
sidenote from me: i use a regular hand mixer because I dont have a large food processor and it works just fine. good luck finding the right recipe! and happy birthday
