Hi
I now use the Bio-set because it's closer to me and I go every month or two just to check things out. My tester lets me know if I'm in right spin or left spin and I go from there. I was having thyroid problems and in about 9 months with some medication he got me off of them and I'm doing pretty good. I love my tester as he is understanding and he spends time to try to figure things out. He's found things out about my system before my pcp ever figured it out so I have to tell my pcp when I want blood work and what I want checked..... I also do that with bone scans and anything else my tester or I think we should be checking....
I usually tried the pizza the day after my treatment......Again if one was super sensitive I wouldn't try it.I'm sure if I ate gluten several times or more than one thing I would be in trouble......There are some who can't get near a crumb of gluten ....I'm not that severe but my youngest grandson age 4 is like that .....I boil all my cooking utensils if I use or make something from reg. ingredients...
I feel like evil knivel when I eat pizza......non gluten-free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lots of luck on your journey

Hi Judy & Jen
i'm fairly sure it will be in the city but we like to get out and travel around so outside the philly area is okay to.Before we drove outside the city limits quite a bit just to explore the area.We went to Passyunk(I know I didn't even come close to spelling that one) sorry!!! We went to the big shopping mall ( it's been ten years since we had to be in Philly area so I can't remember areas to well..I know for sure I was in Ben Salem....Since I live near Pittsburgh Pa our choices for shopping gluten-free are next to nothing. I thought I might find alot of things I can't get back here.I do think we will go to the Jules Pizza in Doylestown.....So anything you find will be greatly appreciated........

Naet is muscle testing for certain allergies....I have done naet for about a year and it has helped with many things I didn't realize I had intolerances to. I drove about 1&1/2 hours to get naet -one way each week. Then I found someone closer to me that does Bio-Set which is done by computer and is a tad more advanced.I have had great results. With myself once I stopped wheat & gluten in my diet it seemed everything else seemed to bother my system.Naet took care of alot of that. I don't believe that a celiac can do this treatment & go back to eating wheat & gluten and my tester says that will not ever happen. I'm not celiac but an severe intolerance to it. I have pushed the button twice and ate pizza hut pizza. First time I got crampes within a few seconds , they only lasted for a minute or two. months later I tried again and it went okay. My tester told me not to push it and that was enough for many months and then maybe I could have another slice of greasy pizza hut pizza....I passed all my cravings but that one so I really do not miss anything else.....or I tell myself I don't miss anything else. Mind over matter......
I truly would not trust a person who said after a treatment or two maybe you could eat wheat & gluten.... I was told that was one of the hardest ones to treat....it might make the reaction a bit less sensitive but I don't think nothing will cure it...........Are only hope I think is the new zonulin or something similar, even then I question if it will help people with the intolerance and not the full- blown celiac........
They also do Naet testing on pets,, mine go for monthly treatments and they also have had great results...
oddly enough thats who told me to go for testing ------THE VET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hello dfish
sorry you are having such a hard time of it-----don't panic I know it gets crazy at times . I agree with everyone else who e-mailed back on this but I will also throw in to the bowl this. you may be detoxing and this can take awhile for things to settle down to a more normal pattern..I think you said you were going to a naturpath, they should be able to help you out with what is best for your system.sometimes digestive enzymes will help instead of the probiotics.you may have throwed your system a curve ball by stopping evrything ... I know when some stop alot of food items at once it seems to bring out other intolerances' that we didn't even know we had..after I stopped wheat & gluten I had a terrible reaction to night shade veggies and before that I didn't think I had a problem with them , I ate them all the time.
remember it probably took years to get to the point where you are at and it will also take time to recover.
good luck to you......

I used to make a dish that used wheat germ in it and someone suggested I use rice germ instead. I've been hunting in asian store to try to find it but no luck. anyone know if there is a rice germ out there?????

I use the BiAglut crackers with the scallop edge, dip them in a fine melted choc. with mint extract added to it and let those babies dry and walla-------thin mint cookies........
I was a brownie then on to a girl scout and loved it-- loved the cookies too but read how fattening they are plus your heart will love you for not eating them. see being gluten-free has its helpful side to by saving us from heart attacks ....... there is a bright side to this.....................
-
I have never had a problem with tinkyada but I hear that BiAglut has changed their recipe. It's still wf/gluten-free. I actually liked BiAglut the best then tinkyada next...
night shade veggies give alot of people trouble but NAET can take care of that.......
It's odd how some foods effect us in different ways. I know my family loves the gluten-free brownie from Outback, but I ate two bites from one and was the sickest I have been since going wf/gluten-free.....
.. go figure.....

Hello
I have been ordering from alot of places to try to find the best in the gluten free food zone.......I love the Pamela's pancake & waffle mix and I think it is one of the better ones out there but............... I ordered in December from Mona's mixes as I heard so much about her mixes... Well my non-celiac husband and son voted that Mona's has Pamela's beat hands down. These are the lightess, fluffiest pancakes I've ever eaten , even before my celiac days..... I never was a pancake person before or after being DX' but I have eaten pancakes 3 times since December...... If you haven't tried Mona's give them a try.
I don't know her but she has me sold on her pancake mix, I can't wait to try her cake mix in Feb. for a birthday party......

so far, we like Heartland's the best.. Are brands are nice & crunchy but Glutino's stuck to my teeth and I didn't like that.......
remember there is alien, O's also.......
what choices in our gluten free world...............finally!!!!!!
-
In my today' s mail was a flyer from the gluten free trader. There now is another O's cereal called "alien O's" from the gluten free zone. I have never heard of this company. They come in cinnamon & or raspberry flavors. It looks like every company got on the band wagon on this one.....
Oh yea, oddly when I received this flyer it was postmarked from Hong Kong---the company is from Milwaukee Wi. , can anyone explain that one to me????

I made my travels to a gluten free store 1&1/2 hours from my home, I found the Perky o's. they come in original.frosted, raspberry, andI think cinnamon.$18.00 + for three boxes of cereal!!!!!!!!!!! I opened the frosted and the original and mixed them plus I added some of perky's nutty flax for some fiber...It really needed something to add a bit of pizzaz to it..... I think out of Glutino, Heartlands and Perky's I'll take Heartlands honey nut ones........
Just wanted to let you know they are hitting the store shelves......

I haven't tried the perky o's for the same reason I can't find them on a store shelf.. I have tries glutino and the Heartland brands, I mixed them together. Heartland's was pretty good ......
Good Luck

hi
I haven't tried this bran but I now have Glutino and Heartland's O's. Both are pretty good. I bought one honey nut and one plain and I mix them together. I also now that celiac specialities has one out also as well as Perky's....
I have been traveling around buying different brands to find the best tasting so I've been a guiney pig several times but at least I know what is the best. If there's anything I can suggest to you that you are looking for just e-mail me and I'll let you know what I think if I've tried it before........

I know a place in Pa. But for mailorder have you tried the gluten free trader? I ordered from them once and they shipped really fast and also only charged for the shipping for my pkg, not the way some do it by saying up 25# is $17.95.
I have been trying to get a catalog from Miss Roben's for 2 years-----haven't seen it yet in the mail.... I was recently told it is a mailorder only place......also when I spoke to someone they were not that friendly.
so I just moved on and order from reliable places.....

I've seen on a few other sites about the good bakery items this gal makes but I can't seem to find out where she is located....Does anyone know of this person or where she is located. My guess is maybe virginia or maryland but I'm not sure and I can't find a website if she has one. I think she does reg. baking also but again I'm not sure I've just seen where folks rave about her breads ans such. Her name might be Kayta...... I need sherlock homes to help me figure this one...................

I'm always searching for new gluten-free foods to try plus gluten-free bakeries.... I will be leaving this weekend so any ideas please let me know...It seems that no store carries all the same things as I see Miss roben's has gluten-free things I can't get in Pa....

hello
i spent a week at Fairbanks and the North Pole. If you are in need of finding some really great tasting gluten free I can give you a heads up as I have been researching and trying by trial and error. I know this is so costly and if I have to eat it then I want the best tasting......breads by anna are just terrific if you like the earthy type breads, my grandkids love it. I also have a recipe for pop tarts if your kids miss those. I also use the four bean flour alot from betty hagman. I make my regular recipes with this flour. do you have a bread machine??/
If you happen to get down this way please look me up, you can contact me through my personal e-mail

I recieved this for a christmas gift and I never was a very good bread baker when working with yeast dough....I think it scared me as I truly hate to waste anything ( it goes way back from my german father that never ever waste)
anyway I purchased some mixes from mixes by Mona out of washington state. I hear they are very good but she suggests using her mixes the mixer way and not using a bread machine. Which I love the bread machine as I've never got a flop...does anyone do anything special with the kitchen-aid that will help me along? do you use the dough hook always???/ I heard some hate their kitchen-aid mixer and at $400.00 bucks I want to be able to get great results. any help ,,,,,, i accept all ....
thanks

hello and welcome to the group
I wish you had e-mailed before as my husband & I just spent two months in the great white north!!!! we drove from Pa lower 48 which took us ten days to hit the state of alaska. I would have loved to meet you.
where do you live up there? we toured the whole state and its calling us back if we can ever afford to do it again.
I really can't help you with a doctor but I think in either anchorage or fairbanks there are several good naturpaths. I met a lady from Homer that uses a great naturpath maybe in soldotna.... But if you feel better not eating wheat and gluten DON"T ----- it is the only way to take care of the symptons anyway.I too started on a gluten free diet before testing and it was a false positive so I didn't get anywhere with doctors. I just maintain a gluten free lifestyle self taught... I do know the Fred Meyer stores sells some gluten free stuff , there is a small health food store in Homer that sells gluten-free and I think around anchorage there is another health store. none carried tons of stuff but it carried me over while I was up there. In vancouver there are many great places to buy from if you would want names and addys let me know......I end up mail ordering most of my food stuffs because where I live there is nothing close to me ....
I use the betty hagman four bean flour for almost all my cookies and they work just fine.....
If I can be of any help to you please let me know.

if your NAET tester didin't come up with anything I too would be gun shy of him.....there are so many out there who really don't know how to test correctly and they just dauble here & there with things. It always makes it bad for the trustworthy , hardworking folks who know it works but they spend time learning, learning learning. I also think that not all have the nack for NAET. I treat a few people and have had great results but it's just for friends....It took me several years to get a feel for it.... You really need to be in tune with ones body or I agree it doesn't work...... I know for vit c I had to be treated several times because I had a severe reaction to vit c.....
sorry it didn't work for you..
