Thanks for your information everybody. We will probably head down to Rissoteria. From what I have heard, it is the best for gluten-free in New York.

I am spending tomorrow in New York City for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Does anyone out there know of anywhere nearby that has gluten free food? (I am a vegeterian too!)

I have eaten the heartland pasta several times. It was excellent. I normally eat tinkyada but I got free samples of heartland at my support group. I would definitely buy it again, it cooked up al dente and even my gluten loving kids loved it. I think it would be great in a casserole!

When I am away for a few days I bring lots of genisoy bars, yogurt, Amy's frozen entrees, rice cakes and peanut butter and some bagged salad. Also, I'll bring a homemade pasta casserole that everybody might enjoy. Good luck.

I know of two gluten free beers. Bard's tale beer and Ramapo Valley Beer. Bard's has a website and a listing of where their beer is available (a lot of Outback restaurants have it). I have only tried Ramapo Valley beer and it is okay. Also, Woodchuck cider is gluten free and widely available. I didn't used to like it, but it tasted a lot better now that my options are fewer. Good luck. Also, where is this bakery in Vermont?

Mr. Ritts gluten-free bakery in Philadelphia is awesome, they also do mail order. Their Yellow Cake is great and their ryeless rye bread was awesome. I also hear that To Life in Fenwick Island De. is great.

I had my children, ages 5 and 8 tested after I was diagnosed with celiac disease. The only one of the tests that came back positive was the "Antigliadin Abs, IgG". My 8 year old had 51 and my 5 year old had 97. My gastroenterologist and pediatrician said that overall they test negative even though these results are high positive. What does the IgG indicate? Why do they test for it if it is not an indicator of celiac disease? Is tTG really the only thing I have to be concerned about?

I'm glad to hear that To Life was great. I am heading to Bethany soon. Did you have any luck at other places dining out with gluten free options?

My daughter and I went to the beach (Maryland, Delaware beaches) last week. We discovered a new little restaraunt called To life! It's a gluten free restaraunt with online sevices. It's on Rt. 1 N. Ocean city Maryland area right after you enter the town of Fenwick island Delaware. If you are on route 1 and your heading north out of Ocean city, it is on the left hand side. The people who own and operate are wonderful. They were excited to meet us and gave us lots of information on celiacs that we didn't know about. LIke the link to the delphi forum product lists. (Amazing!) (The best info I have seen since being diagnosed) I wish I had had this list when I first became a celiac, I would have realized that I was wrong when I thought there was nothing for me to eat.
There's is thousands of items on it from regular stores...FANTASTIC!!
To life has specialty coffies and ice cream drinks, and they served hommade waffles for breakfast . The store is brand new so they don't have a ton yet, but they said that they will eventually have sandwiches and more baked goods, and will stock things like fresh pizza and soup in their refridgerators to heat up in your hotel microwave. It looks like they will be a small gluten-free grocery store. They also gave us info about restarauts in the area. They said there is a family of celiacs who own a restaraunt called The big easy in the Sea colony marketplace in Bethany beach, a few miles north of them. It has a whole seperate gluten-free kitchen. WOW! We didn't get a chance to try them but we will next time we go to the beach.
It just gets better and easier all the time, doesn't it? Wendy

There is a sipport group that meets at St. Peters Hospital in Albany on Thursday July 28 from 6:45 until 8:15. They have a website: www.celiacresource.org. They are supposed to have some really great food at this meeting - yum. I just joined and was recently diagnosed so I don't have much more information than that. Good luck.

I know that there is an Outback Steakhouse in Orlando - they have a gluten free menu. The website allearsnet.com has a lot of information on dietary issues inside Disney World. They have every menu for every restaurant in all parks and hotels. They have a section for Celiacs with a lot of tips and restaurant specific information.

We recently stayed at Pop Century Resort. They had gluten-free Macaroni and cheese, gluten-free pizza, gluten-free pancakes and gluten-free pasta available at all times at the food court inside the hotel. It was great. They wanted me to call early in the morning to arrange for pancakes, but everything else was available immediately. Have a good trip.
