  1. Sorry. It's too bad that all of us celiac.com people aren't neighbors. I would totally lend you my doughnut pan!
  2. It is very good! When I took them to the fall fest last year, one of the little kids who did the doughnut eating contest with the regular doughnuts said to his Grandma, "Grammy, the blueberry ones were way better than the ones that we ate for the contest!" The kid who said that, did not know that they were baked or that they were gluten free!
  3. I never really ate many doughnuts pre-gluten-free anyway nor did I miss them 99.9% of the time after going gluten-free. So probably my perspective is different due to that.
  4. They're only 98 calories.....
  5. I'm going to go get myself some vegan "seafood" from the health food store and have it for supper. So thrilled to find a company that makes vegan fish analogs that are all gluten free! They even have vegan, gluten free, soy free canned "tuna." I could totally see where they would up the convenience factor if I threw that with some packets of mayo into...
  6. Here's my recipe: http://preventionrd.com/2011/07/orange-glazed-blueberry-doughnuts/ I just sub gluten free flour for the gluten flour and do any dairy modifications needed. IIRC, you do milk, so all you would need is to swap the flour out.
  7. I'm sure that it all depends on the tastes of the person....but I made a bunch of gluten free baked doughnuts and took them to a fall festival last fall. They also had regular gluten fried doughnuts. My gluten free doughnuts were eaten much more quickly than the gluten doughnuts. Of course, the gluten doughnuts were plain ones and my gluten free ones...
  8. Gluten free baked doughnuts are super easy to make and very yummy! (and very low fat too!)
  9. It's my oldest kid's birthday today. (she's 8 years old) We're having baked spaghetti, salad, fruit skewers, and smiling apples. https://www.google.com/search?q=smiling+apples+marshmallows&es_sm=93&tbm=isch&imgil=BcF67qiikE9GwM%253A%253BF2G7GEzx-IAZCM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fcarlsbaddspediatricsmiles.com%25252Ftooth-inspired-apple-smiles...
  10. Smashed potatoes (mashed potatoes, except I left the skin on), cooked fresh green beans, pasta salad (corn pasta) with tofu.
  11. Burrito bowls (lettuce, tomato, cilantro, guacamole, soy cheese, soy yogurt, white basmati rice, pinto beans, salsa) with fruit salad (raspberries, grapes, apples).
  12. Oooh, rice sounds like a great idea as a binder for my veggie loaves. I don't always have bread crumbs, but I do virtually always have rice.
  13. Yay! That would be amazing to be able to eat everything at a potluck. I'm glad that you enjoyed yourself! I tried Amy's Sonoma veggie burgers yesterday and I loved them! I think that I'm going to keep a couple in the house along with Udi's buns as a contingency plan if hubby and the kids want to go to Subway or somewhere else that I can't eat.
  14. The tater tot casserole turned out really well! Definitely a hit with the family!
  15. I picked up the ingredients for sloppy joe tater tot casserole tonight. Yum!
  16. Mmmm! This one looks good! http://www.bunsinmyoven.com/2013/08/19/sloppy-joe-tater-tot-casserole-2/
  17. I really want some tater tot casserole. I'm going to have to go get some ingredients for one of some sort.
  18. Irish, I agree on the reviews issue! I actually read a review on one place where the person got regular pasta mixed in with their gluten free pasta and they just shrugged it off and kept eating. So it's good to beware of the reviews written by the fad dieters!
  19. Thai red curry with veggies and rice noodles.
  20. Black bean burgers with lettuce, tomato, and pickle on Red Robin buns (they let you purchase extras to take home!), potato salad, Lay's potato chips, and watermelon.
  21. Sprouted lentil stir fry for us today!
  22. Is it an option to have your own chickens? If you did that, then you could have total control over what they ate. Like others said, it doesn't hurt to try them and see how you respond to them.
  23. We had tofu stir fry with rice noodles for supper. For sauces, we had a couple of San-J selections (Thai peanut and Mongolian Beef Sauces) and Tree of Life wheat free tamari sauce. I pretty much used whatever seasonal vegetables that I had on hand. It's a great way to use up summer squash and zucchini.
