    Last time I ate a full gluten meal, 6 wreks after going gluten free, this was 9 years ago, within 45 minutes I was projectile vomiting, then bile, exrutiating belly pains, cold sweats etc, taken to ED. I am very careful with gluten now as I react badly to CC, but don't have that kind of severe reaction to it.

    I've since found out that the stomach acid not being able to swallow thing is due to Eosiniphilic Esophagitis. They are co-morbid conditions, and there are a few people on this forum who also have both.

    I'm not sure why, but red wine seems to be very bad for me. I can't work out why, I am fine with whites, champagne, cider, other spirits. But for some reason, if I have a couple of glasses of red I will puke all night long. I don't think it is gluten related, but I'd love to know why it happens!

    I agree with this. My kids haven't even noticed switching to gluten free and two of them don't even have issues with gluten. Majority rules in this house, so they go without. Also - unless you guys are doing something totally different in the states, I am really unsure how you can even tell. Lots of the gluten-free mixes over here taste exactly like the...

    Aha - lots of newfies go there for work:) Bleeding cold there- NFLD is a walk in the park compared - but the awful thing about the weather in St John's is that it rains and everything turns to slush and then freezes all in one day - so sometimes you are walking around in knee deep slush and others sliding down the street on your bum The weather in Canada...

    Where do you live love2travel? I used to live in Newfoundland - and I'm from Australia so I think 20 degs c (68F) is chilly - haha. I almost died in Canada. There were days I seriously thought I wouldn't make it!

    Have you heard of others? I haven't but I know they are out there because there have been studies done...It makes it scary to be honest. I am going out to dinner tonight and I am starting to feel nervous about it already....the whole accidental glutening thing..ugh!

    The worst part is - my GI even though he is the one who knows I get intersussception wants me to do a gluten challenge - he isn't a celiac specialist type person... I'm not going to do it though. I think he wants to do it as a kind of study or something???? My GP is like "Just don't do it - it isn't worth it!" I haven't been officially diagnosed you...

    If I eat a tiny bit of gluten - I get stomach acid that bubbles up in my throat and I can't swallow, then this kind of mucus thing where it just comes up and won't stop for hours. Its foul - and I have had it in cafes and stuff - so embarrassing. If I eat lots of gluten (which I will never ever do ever again) I get intersussception. They explain it like...
