PETITION DENIED. That's what the notice said. That's what we expected. Now the question is, do we file a petition for reconsideration, or do we go back to the civil courts?

I previously had not heard of a connection between celiac disease and TB, but I have a friend who has celiac disease and has recently been having TB-like symptoms. He's going for several test this coming week, but I think he is expecting to have cancer rather than TB. But his condition and your question made me wonder, so I did a quick search and here...

Yeah, you can get by without soy sauce on some Oriental dishes. I usually get Kung Pao chicken at our local Chinese restaurant and I just order it with "white sauce". They know me now and always make it right. My son gets sweet and sour chicken, which doesn't have soy sauce, but he does have to order it without the batter (no fried chicken...

Not all soy sauces have gluten. If you become familiar with the ones that are gluten-free, you can just ask what kind the restaurant uses. Or you can ask them to look at, or let you look at the ingredients on the bottle.

Little c, it has been harder for my son than it has for me. Kid's like to have pizza parties and parents like to provide all kinds of cookies and cakes for them at parties, so my son has had to learn how to resist all those things while all of his friends at enjoying the food. I can usually find something to eat at parties and my friends are usually very...

Our friends at church had a pot luck supper/graduation celebration for my son after church, at a park, tonight. When I got in line to get something to eat, I helped myself to some tortilla chips that I brought, then I stood there looking at a sea of sandwiches. Seriously, sandwiches as far as the eye could see. So, as I inched forward in the...

I was just thinking the other night, as I was laying in bed with horrible stomach pains, 'Is it the celiac disease or is it something else?" So that makes me wonder if other celiacs always blame gluten when they are sick or do they consider that it might be something else. I know for a fact that I did not have any gluten that day. I ate at home all...

There seems to be some question amongst celiac sufferers as to whether Lawry's Seasoned Salt has gluten in it. I use the product often and, personally, have suffered no reaction from it. Lawry's is a Unilever product and here's what they have to say: "Some of the people in my family have food intolerances and food allergies, can you tell me which...

No worries then, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil does not contain gluten.

Where is your daughter getting her information? I would think that Kraft would know whether or not their PB is gluten-free. I checked their website and they use their PB in recipes that they claim are gluten-free.

I was told by the Taco Bell corporate office that all TB's meats are seasoned with their spices which contain wheat. Although, their website doesn't claim gluten for their chicken or carne asada steak.

The Java chip fraps have gluten in the chips.

Lawry's is on the gluten-free lists that I have. Also, I use it often and have no reaction to it. -
There is one in McKinney right off 75 and a new one off of the George Bush Tollway (190) in Garland. They aren't only in Texas, though. The restaurant originated in Indiana - don't know why they didn't call it the Indiana Roadhouse. For other locations, you can look at their website: Open Original Shared Link

Well, we were working out a deal on the property that I told about in my EIEIO blog entry. We told them we needed to get a survey done. Then the owner's attorney e-mailed us and told us that they want a $38,000.00 non-refundable deposit that they get to keep if we don't close the deal in 45 days. Uh, NO. So they wrote back and said they are...

One of our favorite restaurants is the local Indian Restaurant. We've been going there for many years and for most of those years I've been eating their "pancake balls". Well, that's not really what they're called. I don't know the real indian name, but they are like balls of pancake with a honey syrup, served warm. They aren't wonderful...mostly because...

The Texas Roadhouse has a gluten-free menu. I went there tonight and they have quite a few things on the gluten-free menu. One puzzling thing is that you have to ask for your grilled meat to be prepared without "grill shortening". I can't imagine why their shortening would have gluten in it. I'll have to check that out. I have a friend who has celiac...

Hi From Nz And A Couple Of Queries Re Coeliac
Mosaics commented on hekewhy's blog entry in Hi from NZ and a couple of queries
Welcome to our world, Hekewhy. Rice is gluten free. MSG is gluten-free also. Monosodium glutamate sounds like something that would have gluten in it, but it does not. Some people have problems with it for other reasons, though. I'm from the U.S., so I don't know what's available in NZ. For pasta dishes I've been using rice and/or quinoa... -
I got mine at Whole Foods in the aisle with the flours and our local Kroger sells it in it's "health food" section where they also have other gluten-free flours, cookies, etc. Or, you can buy it on-line from Bob's Red Mill. One little bag lasts a long time. I've had my for about three years and still have plenty left. If you keep it in the freezer, it's supposed...

I didn't like my mom's cornbread while I was growing up...actually, never liked anyone's cornbread. They probably all made it the same, all those Southern mothers. Mom taught me to cook, which is a good thing, but I didn't like it. We had a conversation one night whilst in the kitchen preparing dinner. Mom, "Mosaics, make the cornbread." Me...

I might have mentioned somewhere in my blog that my husband and I have been fighting the IRS for about 8-10 years. The tax courts have ruled against us every step of the way, so we have to appeal to the Supreme Court. My husband has been doing a lot of the motion and brief writing himself to save money on attorney fees. Seriously, he's learned enough...

I don't have a job, so I haven't been faced with that particular dilema, but I feel sure that I wouldn't mind telling anyone about my celiac disease. I don't go around telling everyone I meet, but if the subject comes up, I don't hesitate to tell. It's nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about. I mostly socialize with friends...

Greetings From A Newbie/my Diagnosis Experience
Mosaics commented on little-c's blog entry in little_c's Blog
Your case is very similar to mine. I didn't have any worrisome symptoms. What I had, I attributed to other things or thought they were normal. My biggest symptom, acid reflux/heartburn, which I wasn't even looking for a cure for because I thought it was normal (how many meds do we see advertised on TV for that?), went away after going on the gluten... -

Ah, what I wouldn't give for a bologna on wheat bread sandwich. -
Ack! I have a friend whose family is going through a terrible time. She has cancer for the second time, her youngest daughter has been diagnosed as bi-polar, her three y.o. son is out of control and won't behave, her husband won't help discipline the children. Seems the only one in the family without a major issue (other than living in such a chaotic...
