  1. That's interesting about the tryptophan, I'd never heard that. I wouldn't expect your sleeping problems to clear up quickly. You may have to wait for your intestines to heal before you start absorbing the nutrients you need or you might could get injections. My daughter had problems with insomnia and fatigue. We discovered through a blood...

    Gf Birthday

That was very sweet for your coworkers to do that...and to even go to the trouble of finding a gluten-free cake recipe and buying special flour...Wow!
  3. I would say, "surely your doctor has tested for this already," but as we know, sometimes docs don't think of everything ...anyway, has your B12 level been checked? My daughter was very fatigued for a long time. That's not normal for a 21 y.o. so the doc ran blood tests and discovered that her B12 was dangerously low...the lowest he'd ever seen. He...
  4. Lindy, how interesting that you teach swing. That must so fun. My husband and I have recently taken some ballroom dance lessons...eight so far. I had never danced in my life (for religious reasons) except around the house by myself. I found that I'm pretty good at it. My husband...well, my husband is not. So I find it nearly impossible to let him...
  5. Thanks Lindylynn. Oh, in case you didn't see my other response to you, my dog is a Maltipoo (half Maltese/half Poodle). It was lots of trial and error to post pics. I learned how to post them at another site that I frequent, so, although each site is a little different, that made it somewhat easier to figure this one out. First I tried using the...
  6. Thanks Jonesy, I'll have a look at that.
  7. Taking B12 may help with your fatigue. My 21 year old daughter was chronically fatigued. We finally had her blood tested last year and the doctor said he'd never seen such a low B12 result. He gave her a series of B12 shots that helped immediately. Now she takes a maintenance dose orally. Remember that the gluten has been inhibiting your nutrient...
  8. I guess I'm a geek for replying to myself, but I'm doing it to see what my page looks like and if it's long and narrow, I'd like to find out how to widen the page.
  9. I don't think that gluten can hurt a celiac if it's not ingested. After all, the gluten works on the small intestines so if it isn't put into the small intestines, how could it do any damage? However, I do have a celiac disease friend that has all kinds of skin problems (including dermatitis herpetiformis). IMO, his skin allergies stem from...

    First Blog

Hi Lindylynn. I also have arrived and have created my first blog. And what a lovely writer you are, too. It's hard to understand why some family members won't get tested even though celiac disease symptoms are causing debilitating illnesses, isn't it?
