Went gluten free 11-29-2009....
possible MS
I was gluten-free for about 5 months.
Well then I developed what I thought was chapped lips at first but it began to spread around my mouth. Little pimples that would turn into dry scaly spots. I went to the dermatologist. She said atopic dermatitis and gave me something that irritated it and made it worse.
I then decided that since my diet was different after going gluten-free, that might be the answer. I eliminated 4 foods that I was eating more of and the rash gradually went completely away. I then added them back one at a time. I turned out that RICE was the culprit. Each time I tried rice the rash returned, and it was worse, also spreading to my chin and my nose.Happened pretty quick too.
Well after a short period of doing away with all rice and rice products...I began to falter. So I went back to GLUTEN
I'm finally gluten free again ( as of February 22, 2011) and realize it will take quite some time for healing and hopefully I'll start to feel better gradually.
The posts I have read have been very helpful. I hope this helps someone too.
