  1. While we should be angry with Dominos. we should be furious with the NFCA! They know that we will see a restaurant proudly displaying thier symbol and a "Certified by NFCA" and assume its as safe as it gets. Even if it says "Amber designation form NCFA" who would know that is anything to worry about? Most Celiacs are not on C.com or any other newsletter...
  2. What makes me grouchy is - how will we know it's an "amber" rating? We see gluten-free and think its gluten-free not gluten lite. We might have caught it here , but other places say NFCA certified gluten-free & we think it's safe. If they said "NFCA certified amber level" or "NFCA certifie gluten lite", then we would know. Being "certified" conveys...
  3. Even a small crumb that you can't see is causing an immune reaction. Whether you notice it or not, doesn't mean it isn't happening. It might not manifest as a "stomach" issue. It may be a headache or something else you don't realize is related to gluten. Cc is an issue. The amount of flour that would be in the cheese from the flour on the workers...
  4. I don't think we can expect dedicated ovens. I do think we should expect fresh toppings, not the cheese they have been putting their flour laden hands in. Locally, Minskys is certified and had training to make gluten-free pizza. They get fresh ingredients from the fridge for the gluten-free pizzas. They put them in the ovens with a 15 in (?) space between...
  5. "Domino's and the NFCA found that while the crust is certified as gluten free, current store operations at Domino's cannot guarantee that each handcrafted pizza will be completely free from gluten," the company's news release said." I hate these pseudo gluten-free menus. It confuses the non- gluten-free people who think we can eat at these places...
  6. If its sold in the US, they must label wheat. Carmel coloring is not a concern in the US as far as gluten.
  7. The whole foods by me, brings the gluten-free breads, etc out of thier freezer and thaws them on the shelf. They are shipped frozen. Most gluten-free bread isn't made locally, so it's frozen for traveling and storage by the store. Canyon Bakehouse told me this. A lot of the regular bread in the grocery is made nearby and shipped & on the shelf within...

    Losing Weight

The best way to get answers to your questions is by posting in the Forum. Maybe a topic under the weight issues section?
  9. If you would like to get answers and have a discussion, please post this on the Forum as a new topic in the Post Diagnosis Thread.
  10. YAY...YOUR BACK!!! LOL!

  11. Hey karen...you all right?

  12. Might want to add this to the list: http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/ all gluten-free crockpot recipes made with easy to find ingredients.
  13. Could it be possible that there are different Giant groceries? Different main company? For example, we have PriceChoppers here in KC. I googled them for something and found there is another chain of Price Choppers, in another part of the country, that don't seem to be related. Also, here, some of our Price Choppers are owned by different people, like...
  14. I agree! Also, I think we need to use some common sense. It is unlikely that crackers or bread are made in a cream cheese factory. Wheat or barley is rarely added to any dairy product. ( ice cream with cookies is an exception). Kraft makes so much cream cheese that it's likely that is all that is made in that factory. This could certainly be checked...
  15. Before gluten-free, I used white vinegar to dissolve the flour out of the little cracks of my mixer and off the counter.
  16. Hey there sunshine...How was your weekend?

Did you survive the younger generation? LOL

    Tell me about it! LOL

  18. That would be great! You are not the first, nor will you be the last, to miss the dates on old posts.
  19. This info is over 3 years old. Products change. You should call the manufacturer of your medication if you want to find out gluten currently in the medication.
  20. They would never respond, as anything they said in a letter to you could be used in court. If it was calm, well written & not abusive (which is probably what you wrote) they threw the letter away. If your anger shone through or you cussed a bit, questioned his medical credentials or called his ethics into question - they put it in your chart with a...
  21. Shouldn't be any gluten in cream cheese. Unless someone was using it on gluten bagels and got crumbs in it.
  22. If you want some people to answer your questions, post your questions in the forum. Pre-diagnosis and testing is a good place for this.
  23. Sounds like they use gluten-free oats. If you can eat oats, they should be OK.
