  1. That seems like a lot of damage for it to be something else, I would think. Too bad the doc didn’t do any of the other Celiac blood work. One of the other types might have hit a bigger positive
  2. I think he is very confused about all this. He didn't understand that the "positive biospy" and the "blunted villi" are the same thing. So its hard to tell. I believe he may have said he took PPIs, too. So its really hard to tell if he actually has Celiac or something else. I would like him to realize something is wrong and to try to get some help to...
  3. We are having nachos made with the little bit of taco filling we had
  4. I understand! But so many people here in KC rave about the Costco pizza and the one you had and this restaurant that uses it, and they all love it. Something must be wrong with me! Lol ? And the topping & stuffing chicken with all the pizza toppings! Yes! And add some bread crumbs in the mix!
  5. I just typed out a long explanation on the thread with the title “ Villi”. Sorry, I don’t have time to repeat it. Maybe read there and see if it makes sense to you? https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/127528-lets-talk-about-villi/?tab=comments#comment-1014716
  6. I am going to guess that 1 beer a day might not have enough gluten. Some of them don’t have very much at all! People with Celiac, on a gluten-free diet will heal and absorb calcium and other vitamins/ nutrients.
  7. There is a lot that goes into all this. Unfortunately, it isn’t as simple as you might think When a GI doc takes a little sample of a small intestine ( villi are destroyed/ removed). A Gi will tell you that that injury should heal, under normal circumstances, in 7-10 days approximately. For a Celiac, you can still produce antibodies for a f...
  8. Am I the only one? I don’t like all these Cauliflower pizza crusts. They taste like cauliflower to me and I am not a big fan of cauliflower. I feel Like everyone loves them but me!
  9. It may not be a paid advertisement, but obviously she writes these things to help promote her book and business. But I am not sure that is really all that unusual. I have gone to medical lectures where the doctor has something to sell but is an expert on the subject. It usually says right at the beginning “ Dr. Karen, CEO and founder of K Imagining”. ...
  10. Chicken Shawarma on a big salad with a lemon TAhini dressing . So yummy and easy. We grilled the chicken but it was dark and gin couldn’t see, so he brought it in and I put a little oil in a pan and finished it . https://www.zenbelly.com/2018/06/29/chicken-shawarma/ Added a little more lemon- https://www.zenbelly.com/2018/05/0...
  11. This author is saying that our bodies respond to these things like they are gluten. I have linked to the Univ of Chicago. The author claims the proteins are similar, in completely un-related foods , to the protein in wheat, rye or barley. I have not seen any real evidence of this. Being unable to digest or allergic or some other sort of thing is...
  12. I like like to get my advice from Trained Celiac experts. https://www.cureceliacdisease.org/faq/whats-with-all-the-talk-about-certain-types-of-food-causing-cross-reactivity/ “There is not yet reliable data about cross-reactivity. As for the alleged possibility that many gluten-free foods or drinks (such as coffee, milk, orange j...
  13. You just need the kind with added oil , salt and sugar- not the kind that comes when you just grind peanuts only.
  14. I make these and use half brown sugar and half white. And I use any old Pb.
  15. That’s a pretty high number. I would definitely get the endoscopy . Confirm that he will take at least 6 biopsies. Damage can be spotty and not visible to the naked eye. So we want lots of chances to hit it.
  16. And an another question / thought - what test was positive and what was the number? Slightly positive tests can be caused by other things.
  17. So it’s going to be kinda dependent on your body and what your symptoms are. Everyone reacts differently and has a different time frame for a reaction. A lot of people seem to like to eat the gluten at dinner. Then they can be woken up at 3 am and get the stomach aches, gas, poop storm out of the way for the day. Let me get some recommendations a...
  18. I have never found one that has gluten. It is hard to find any that aren’t mint flavored.
  19. I didn’t say that you said that pellegra causes Celiac . Sure Celiac can cause deficiencies but to say DH is not Celiac, it is Pellegra , is a bit of a stretch. And you didn’t say that, I understand.
  20. I agree. These theories are getting out of hand. I hope new people will not be put off by this , but I fear some have. ?
  21. They use fresh gloves on you . They don’t go and eat lunch in them and then put them in your mouth! ? if they are leaving gluten in the tools - then they should be closed down! They clean the tools very well and some items are probably new and one use. There is a slight possibility there could be gluten in a product they use - but I really h...
  22. The “ positive biopsy” is the villi blunting. you should wonder why you have that. It’s not normal. That could be caused by other things in the absence of Positive Celiac blood tests. Celiac is an autoimmune disorder. It doesn’t just “ heal” and go away when you have healed your gut. It will come back when eating gluten again.
  23. So did your doctor look into the other causes of mild villi blunting? Probably didn’t actually have Celiac?
  24. You always make some yummy stuff!
