  1. Sometimes, the different labs have a slightly different test or testing equipment. So the ranges for this type of test can be slightly different. The total IGA test is done to validate the ttg IGA test. A simple explanation is that it tests to see if you are able to make enough IGAs to do a ttg IGA test. A few people do not make them , so they would...
  2. Plain Fritos are gluten-free. They even say so on the bag. I eat them way more than I should. ?
  3. If he truely has DH , which is Celiac, he has to be completely gluten-free. He will never get well eating gluten. You just have to be careful. I have a mixed house but I don’t get glutened from them. So it can be done. The fact that you haven’t been diagnosed with DH, means it might not be DH. If you knew what it was, you might be able to tre...
  4. So he has been diagnosed, by a biopsy, with DH? Because other foods don’t cause DH- just gluten. He shouldn’t be getting cc. And pollen doesn’t cause DH. But, if I had a horrible itchy rash- I would probably try topical CBD from a reliable company.
  5. I think both previous posters have explained that you can’t use the same fryer. Obviously, small particles do float in the oil and get on the next batch of food. And a food truck is awfully small to have any flour in it and call any food gluten-free. A lot of restaurants use rice flour. Not sure if you would want to make your own bread crumbs from g...
  6. I don’t know if it is very badly translated to English or just plain wrong. But this article has a lot of incorrect information. Don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
  7. I thought it was a little pie filled with something. I looked at pictures of fried things made with buckwheat flour and a few looked pretty dark. Odd.
  8. I have never fried with it. Is it possible it’s something in the filling showing through or soaking into the crust? Sometimes with gluten-free coated & fries foods it helps to freeze it before frying. You would have to make smaller pies that way.
  9. No reason to think it has undisclosed gluten. Maybe it’s another ingredient that bothers you? I am assuming no one uses it for gluten bread from the current ICBINB site ( July 2019) “Our spreads, sprays and sticks are are naturally gluten-free. And now for the fun legal language: Because our product recipes change, please double check the...
  10. I think Walgreens label a bunch gluten-free. You could use the gluten-free drug list , too. https://www.glutenfreedrugs.com/list.htm
  11. You might want to specify what country. In the US, many are gluten-free and some are labeled gluten-free. Target labels some of their acetaminophen gluten-free. There are other brands that do, too.
  12. We were just in Green Bay. We didn’t go to Pepper as it has just opened and still has a limited menu. But the gluten-free/ Celiac community there is pretty excited about it. Surprisingly, Green Bay is pretty easy to eat gluten-free.
  13. If you actually have DH, you have to stop eating gluten to stop the antibodies. Then it can take a while for it to clear up. So I can understand trying to find something that helps it go away or at least feel better until it does. But, for people with DH/ Celiac, you shouldn’t start eating gluten after the DH finally clears up or it will just come b...
  14. I think it depends on why you are gluten free. People with Celiac should not consume gluten because it sets off an auto immune reaction. If you went gluten-free because of FODMAPS, then you should be able to get away with small amounts of wheat- especially if you balance the amount of FODMAP in your other food. if you went gluten for some other...
  15. There is a great Facebook page called “ Celiac Travel” by Gluten-free Globetrotter. They have had recent posts on France.
  16. If you want to see if you have a problem with mullet - you can get gluten-free millet and cook it and see. Then you would know
  17. That is not what was asked here!
  18. Those tests! Ugh! About 30% of people have a gene for Celiac. But only 1-2 % actually have Celiac. If you have symptoms- get tested. Otherwise live your life and enjoy gluten.
  19. If you really want good beer - you can order Ghostfish ( if your state allows). It costs as much to ship as the beer - but it’s a nice birthday present. Also, Glutenberg and Groundbreaker and Ghostfish keep adding states that you can get them in. If it’s available in your state, you can get your liquor store to order it for you.
  20. Or ghostfish in Seattle or Alt Brew in Madison , Wi or New Fermentation in Tulsa, or Hollidaily in Golden, Co.....
  21. I would say, in general, they are gluten-free. They are not actual “ beer” - they are sodas. But I would read the ingredients, as sometimes these old fashioned sodas are , in rare instances, made with barley malt syrup.
  22. Kind do actually test for gluten. I eat them with no issues
  23. When the original question was asked 13 years ago, there weren’t many options for gluten-free pancake mix. Now there are lots of good ones. I haven’t tried Krusteaz pancake mix but the cornbread, brownies and coffee cake mix are excellent
  24. It’s gluten free. In fact, it is one of the few processed foods allowed on the very restrictive gluten elimination diet ( Fasano diet). This is for people who don’t respond to a normal gluten-free diet.
  25. I was basing my comments on that section on skin in A&P class and that biology class- I can’t remember the exact name of -on body systems & the one about body chemistry. Just some random college classes. And some stuff some Celiac researchers told me. ? but Mayo is good too! ?
