  1. I have found it would depend on the "quality " of the bar. Certain sketchy bars, I will only drink bottled cider (from the bottle). ?

  5. If you want to continue looking at Celiac as a problem, keep eating gluten. I don't know why a doctor would tell someone to go gluten-free, if they don't have Celiac or a FODMAP issue!
  6. Do you have San-J in Canada? They make a good quality tamari ( wheatless soy sauce) and other sauces. It’s pretty easy to make nice sauces, just look up some recipes and use a gluten-free soy sauce. If if you are just going gluten light - the tiny bit of wheat that is in soy sauce shouldn’t matter
  7. Medications causing Celiac? Not sure where you got that from. The first line of the article you link to says “mimics”, Not “causes”. “Olmesartan-induced enteropathy mimics celiac disease clinically and pathologically.”
  8. What did they say? I can’t imagine they are baking bread in an OJ factory! ?. Some companies will give you some statement about how they don’t test for gluten so they won’t say it’s gluten-free. I have had many different brands of OJ with no problem. But if you are really worried, fresh homemade juice is delicious.

  11. A few years back, I emailed with a company that made these “ wheat” based paper plates, etc. it’s not actually the “ wheat” seed they are using. It is the leftover stem parts. So likely no protein in them at all.

  17. Pernicious anemia is easily diagnosed ( by a doctor) from routine blood work. So, I am guessing, that if that is the type of anemia this poster had, they would know that.   18. I think the logical thought would be that the symptoms, which appeared with a head injury, are related to the head injury. Also, those are not tests for Celiac disease. Maybe you should see a MD neurologist?
  19. In the US, it is usually less than 2 weeks. But with Christmas, it might be a day or 2 longer. If the results are going to the doctor & the doc has to review them first- that could add sometime on, too. I would call and ask.
  20. The only ones I have seen with gluten are the ones used to flour a pan. Just read the ingredients.
  21. I would never advise someone who needs antidepressants not to take them because they maybe, might , cause some intestinal distress. I think the alternative to not taking them could be soooooo much worse.

  24. I think you should complete your Elimination diet, be re-tested to see if it worked, before you go off the diet. Obviously, your refractory Celiac is why you went on it.
