  1. Never seen a marshmallow with gluten
  2. This is a blog section. Usually this section doesn't get many comments. You might want to post in the forum. But to answer your question - S'mores are made with graham crackers. Regular graham crackers contain gluten. It isn't hidden - it is listed in the ingredients.
  3. It could be that it had gluten . But what you described is actually a rather common reaction for non- Celiac people, too. My mom didn’t have Celiac but that was her reaction to the contrast. That stuff is pretty nasty.
  4. Potatoes, rice and sweet potatoes are all gluten free and fine for a Celiac. Just don’t cook them with gluten added in some way.
  5. Perhaps that is a question for an actual medical professional/ doctor?
  6. If you decide to brew gluten-free beer, you will need to take a “ business trip” to Ghostfish in Seattle, Holidaily in Colorado and Ground Breaker in Oregon. Learn about the different grains they use. They malt other grains like rice and millet. Not sure how common millet and sorghum are in your country . So they might be hard to get. A big thing her...
  7. The fact is, you will get all kinds of responses . You will get some people that say they were glutened by a door handle or being next to someone who ate gluten earlier in the day. I try to use some common sense and a little bit of elementary school science. Is this malted barley in grain or powder form? Powder obviously will “ poof” up and get...
  8. They don’t make people working around food/ beer wear hairnets? Couldn’t he just take a shower as soon as he gets home? Take off his clothes and put straight into a garbage bag/ laundry bag? I don’t see that you would be in any great danger from gluten stuck to him, as long as he didn’t shake it off (like a dog ) in the kitchen.
  9. They should have the ingredients for bothe the ham and the glaze packet on the outside packaging of the ham. BUT... first rule of Celiac Disease- NEVER NEVER eat something where you do not know the ingredients in it. So make your own if you want a glaze. You can google lots of different ones - from the basic brown sugar honey ones to cherry preserves

    Day 9 of gluten-free

Pepper doesn’t have gluten. But this is a “blog” , usually, the poster doesn’t want a lot of “advice” or comments. If they wanted that, they would post in the forum. So don’t be upset that she doesn’t respond.
  11. This article is 10 years old. Links don’t always work after all that time. I bet you could google and find that info .
  12. Are you strictly gluten-free? You said your “Celiac levels” are high.
  13. Do they claim to be gluten-free? You might email or call and ask. If they use gluten-free oats, technically, in the US, they are not supposed to list it as "gluten-free oats". Some still do, but its an odd quirk of our labeling laws.
  14. You need to read all ingredients. In the US, oats, rye and barley do not have to be listed as an allergen. They do have to be listed , in the ingredient list, if they are an ingredient. Rye is usually only in things like rye bread or crackers - and they also have wheat. Non gluten-free oats will be listed as oats - if they are gluten-free , the product...
  15. Malting is a process in this case not an ingredient. There are gluten-free breweries that “ malt” millet, rice, etc to make very good, (even to gluten beer snobs) beers.
  16. I have used them Those grocery store "lists" are usually meant to get you to buy the store brand. The tags on the shelves are only as accurate as the person labelling or re-stocking the shelf. They may only put the little tags on things that state "gluten-free" or our the store brand. Lots of things are naturally gluten-free, so limiting your diet to...
  17. Sorry you got sick. But that food sounds amazing! If you lived about 475 miles closer, I would definitely have you make some food for us!
  18. I have never actually found raw meat that is not gluten-free. Broth is usually a lot of salt. There is a legal definition for it I have seen on this site before. You might search for that. It doesn't include grains.
  19. Mariposa is great. They have 2 locations https://www.mariposabaking.com/
  20. What if you just make a loaf or two of gluten-free bread and that ought to clean out any remaining crumbs?
  21. I have gone to groceries and seen the grocery store label Whole wheat pasta as gluten free. Those are nice to help point stuff out but they are just put there by some random grocery clerk.
  22. Also, your intestines will continue to be destroyed so eventually you will have some interesting bathroom issues.
  23. Yes, cancer is a risk. but you will probably die from the anemia first. And it's not a fun way to go. You get sooooo tired you can hardly even enjoy a tv program. It becomes so hard to catch your breath when you walk around the house. Forget about walking from the parking lot to your grandkids soccer game. Your heart will start beating faster to...
