  1. If you aren’t taking medicine for it, maybe you aren’t actually rid of it ? Maybe you just pushed it down a bit and it has gained strength and come back? did a doctor test you for giardia?
  2. If you know what cities you are going to - there are Facebook groups for either "celiac" or "gluten free".
  3. Hopefully the colonoscopy will be negative! The Celiac biopsies are usually taken during an endoscopy (from the other end). If your Celiac blood test was that high, you have Celiac even if he misses the damage with his biopsies.
  4. Don't go gluten-free until all your Celiac testing is finished. You need to be eating gluten for the tests. An easy and less expensive thing to do while traveling is to take a cooler and buy some of your food. Stay in places with, if not a whole kitchen, at least a microwave and mini-fridge. There are lots of good gluten-free places to eat in California...
  5. Probably most will go away in a year or two. Sometimes you have done permanent damage to something or will need to make an extra effort to fix the problem. But, even if everything doesn't magically go away/ heal - you will be doing better.

  7. What are the ingredients? IF its just the oil from the plant, it should be gluten-free. Gluten is found in different varieties of wheat, rye and barley.
  8. Yes, of course you will take in calories. Causing yourself Celiac damage is not a good way to loose weight. Many undiagnosed Celiacs are actually over weight.
  9. I think you are going on an assumption that you have Celiac and any stomach upset is related to gluten. But maybe that is not the case? Stomach aches are caused by many things. You don't know if you actually have Celiac. I would hate for you to miss something because you assume you have Celiac.
  10. I think all of them are fine. Read the ingredients. I usually use the Kraft ones because I like them best. You will have to try some of the gluten-free graham crackers - there are no "regular" ones that are gluten-free. I usually just use Hersheys bars.
  11. In your original picture You posted the seal from the “ cerifying “ association! None of the companies that sell the use of their seal actually go and look at and test the product. These companies agree to abide by their rules. If you read the info on the Dairya website, they tell you about testing, no gluten in the plant, etc. I gave that link to you...
  12. Probably not gluten you are having an issue with & you are showing the "certification" seal- "CAN I CONSUME DAIYA PRODUCTS IF I HAVE CELIAC DISEASE OR AN INTOLERANCE TO GLUTEN? Our products are free from wheat, barley and oat. We only use ingredients with gluten-free statements from our suppliers, and we’re committed to a gluten-free e...
  13. Even if you didn’t have Celiac, that is a horrible way to eat. You don’t have to do much cooking to eat a lot better than that. Just because something does not have gluten ingredients does not mean that a place like Hardee’s is safe for a Celiac! The risk of CC is huge! It sounds like you should stop your reduced gluten diet and eat a full glute...
  14. Gluten doesn’t “hide”. No one is trying to push gluten on unsuspecting people! ?. What is the difference in the ingredients of the gums? Some of the artificial sweeteners do not agree with my stomach but that does not mean it contains gluten.
  15. Like GFin DC said, if you are diagnosed with DH , then you have a Celiac diagnosis. People with DH sometimes don't have the elevated blood tests but will still have intestinal damage. That damage is usually not seen during a colonoscopy. They do an endoscopy (looks at small intestine) and biopsy it. But if you were gluten-free at that time, it should...
  16. You are responding to a post from 2006. The guy just posted a response he got from the company so I am sure he doesn't know the answer. When info is this old, it is best to get new info from the company. I would guess that the stores - 12 years ago in Western Washington were owned by a franchisee and corporate didn't want to guarantee gluten...
  17. Mostly gluten-free? That is your problem right there! A Celiac has to be completely gluten-free>
  18. Were you gluten free when you had the blood work?
  19. So stop. they are grown ups. Tell them you are too sick to worry about their laundry, dinner, cleaning the bathroom, etc. My boys & husband would never have behaved like that! When I was diagnosed, my youngest was 12 or 13. He stopped eating his favorite snack - pretzels, so I wouldn't be sad as they were a favorite of mine. He went to the...
  20. The way gluten-free "certification" works - a company has a symbol they have trademarked. They basically sell a program to a food manufacturer that allows them to use the symbol on packaging. They manufacturer agrees to the standards that that certifying agency sets. Some big manufacturers don't want to pay for that. They have to test for gluten anyway...
  21. This part? The part that says that the little cups are not gluten-free? That doesn't mean the big boxes aren't. "Peanut Butter and Cocoa PEBBLES™ are not currently Gluten Free. All bag and box sizes of Fruity PEBBLES™, Cocoa PEBBLES™ and Cinnamon PEBBLES™ are gluten free. Single serving cup sizes are packaged on production lines that are not verified to be g...
  22. You can use the same pots and pans and dishes, etc. You just need to be sure you can get them really clean. But I think your real problem is that your kids and your boyfriend don't care. The boys are 18, so I would think you could put your foot down and kick them out if they don't go by your rules in your house. The BF, well, you aren't married to him...
  23. I broke this off of a really old thread so people don't get confused and answer the people from years ago.
  24. Where did you find this info? I don't see anything about it on the website when I looked. Just because something is not "certified" gluten-free that does not mean it is not tested and, in fact, gluten-free. Certifying agencies do not come out an test the products.
