  1. You will never get better and heal if you keep eating like that! If they say it has gluten, don't eat it. Not really sure how safe any of the food there would be or how careful the workers are to keep gluten-free food separate from gluten food. Maybe you should try to eat safe food you make at home for a couple of months. Give yourself a...
  2. Wait.... you were positive for Celiac but didn’t think going gluten-free would be a good idea? But then someone talked you into it. While being gluten-free makes tests negative, you still have Celiac. It’s like having high blood pressure.... you take medication and your blood pressure goes into the normal range - you aren’t “ cured “. You still have high...
  3. Just remember, if you want to know if you actually have Celiac, you will have to go back on a regular gluten diet for a few months before you can be tested. It is usually easier to get the blood test before you go gluten-free. If you are feeling better, you might not want to eat gluten again. But if you do not know if you actually have Celiac, you may...
  4. Why would you get that for Celiac? What other issues do you have that this may actually be for? Have you actually given a gluten free diet a fair chance? Why take meds if a diet change will do the trick?
  5. I don't know if any of these would work for you. They are nightshade free and seem to be corn free. https://kcnatural.com/
  6. Its not what I think, that's what the U of C Celiac center says. Sounds like its a FODMAPS issue. You had such immediate results to eating low FODMAP. Celiac takes more than a few days to go away. The nice thing about a FODMAP issue is that, while wheat is a high FODMAP food, you don't need to worry about little crumbs of breading from a shared fryer...
  7. Those Celiac tests look negative. What makes you say the test is inconclusive? If that is your total serum IGA, it is plenty to get a good test result. https://www.cureceliacdisease.org/faq/is-an-iga-result-of-39-where-normal-is-81-463-considered-deficient-and-could-it-invalidate-anti-iga-tests/
  8. Was it a different lab? A lot of labs just stop "counting" at 100. Mine just said ">100". She probably has symptoms, you just don't realize they are from Celiac.
  9. My understanding is that some wheat has lower amounts of gluten. If you have Celiac, that doesn’t matter. But if you don’t have Celiac but have another issue - like a FODMAP problem- that might be OK.
  10. Sounds like a very high blood test. You need to keep eating gluten until you finish all testing. So eat your favorite gluten foods.
  11. A good B12 just means you might not have one type of anemia. There are others. You can have Celiac and not be anemic . Anemia is a common way that people get a doctor to take notice. As you may have seen, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, etc Are often ignored or down played by doctors. Anemia gets their attention.
  12. Not usually! Lol ? sometimes you can show them that link and it will give the doc the info they didn’t know they needed. It’s a much better link than a webmd or someone’s blog
  13. I think turkey would be great! I am sort of thinking you might just want to do a sort of bland diet - as if you were getting over the stomach virus. So a simple chicken soup with some cooked veggies like carrots and green beans or peas - you can then put it over rice or rice noodles if you want. I like your idea of staying away from dairy, etc. You can...
  14. You might want to find a doctor that knows something about Celiac in very young children. A gluten free diet would make anyibodies negative. Also, some tests work better on very young kids. https://www.cureceliacdisease.org/faq/at-what-age-should-children-get-tested-for-celiac-disease/
  15. Over 100 usually means you have Celiac. Even if the doctor doesn't biopsy correctly. Usually, the biopsy results are 3-5 working days.
  16. Those food sensitivity tests on Enterolab are not accepted by actual Celiac doctors. This sites probably gets a percentage of everyone they send to get the bogus tests. And I am going to guess that 11 days will not be enough to heal the colitis. Why not try a restrictive diet for a month or two and see if it helps? I am surprised that your...
  17. Wow! Looking at the info in the "about" section on these guys it appears that I am at least as qualified as they are to sell you a "cure". ? One of them claims to have a bachelor of Science but it an electrical engineer - I have a bachelor of science and its actually has to do with human medicine. One of them catches fish - I have caught...
  18. I would be very careful with any web site that just wants to sell you thier book and recommends places like enterolab. Try actual medical sites like Mayo clinic https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/microscopic-colitis/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20351483
  19. Sure. That could be normal for you. 2 months isn't that long to heal and get everything regulated. It may be different 2 months from now.
  20. Sounds like the blood test is useless in your case. Some times people have elevated antibodies for a few months after gluten-free. The tests have a range for normal because it is normal to have those numbers. Two months from now, they may be slightly different. There are other things that can cause low levels on these tests.
  21. Of course that is ridiculous! That is like saying you had a mammogram 2 years ago that was negative - so you couldn't have cancer now. Of course she then talked to the doctor and got her tested? The standard of care for children with type 1 is to Celiac test every 2 years with no symptoms. And to test all siblings every 2 years, also.
  22. Untreated Celiac is often the cause of , or worsens illnesses like diabetes, thyroid disease, etc. it can also cause them to progress and get worse. Of course you know untreated Celiac causes your anemia. I guess that could kill you after a few miserable years. living with those illnesses wouldn't be a " normal" life to me. And you certainly listed...
  23. I don't feel like I cook like Ma Ingalls. I cook about as much as mom did when we were growing up- simple dinners most every night with left overs for lunches or repurposed for dinner. The good thing is, I have a bit more diverse tastes in food and lots more good quality convience stuff. I don't have to freeze or can veggies. I can get a wide variety...
  24. Are you saying you are diagnosed with Celiac disease?
  25. Maltodextrin is gluten-free. But it should be listed as an ingredient. http://www.darigold.com/products/cottage-cheese/4percent-large-curd-cottage-cheese
