gluten-free food is bad? Tonight I am having BBQ chicken, cheesy potatoes, salad Or maybe roasted carrots with a sweet and spicy glaze. This week we had turkey cooked in a mango peach salsa over rice, nachos, .. all gluten-free naturally. My dog LOVES her gluten free/ grain free dog food. But I doubt you would like it.

I What are the ingredients? I think they are mostly msg? If they contain wheat or barley, they will list it as an ingredient. -
i think that in some states, you can go to labs, like Quest Diagnostics and order your own blood work. could get pretty expensive with 10 kids because insurance usually won't pay unless a doctor orders it. but you could call your local place and see if its even possible. There are places you can mail in stool, hair, etc - but those test cost at least...

Your PCP or OB/GYN can order the genetic test for you. Maybe your insurance will pay for it that way. In some states, you can go to a place like Quest diagnostics and "order" it yourself. It is around $300 when I got it a few years ago.

You could get the gene test before you go. Might save some time for future visits. Feel like you got some info. I would think they would all be good. I think I have heard Dr. Lebwhol give a presentation. I think I would pick one of the women. I like a female doctor for myself.

Did you tell them when you made the appointment that you are gluten free for years? They may tell you to do a gluten challenge first, so you don't waste your time and money.

Sure. it isn't gluten. Gluten is found in all types of wheat, rye and barley. Pepper is not one of those. -

Obviously, you have a lot more issues with him than just this. I feel bad for the kids as an early diagnosis could be so helpful to their current and future health. If it were me, I would get another doctor and get the ones with the obvious issues tested. It would be nice if he agreed, but if I think it's for my kids health and future success in life...

It is pretty rare that cheese would have gluten. There are a few special cheeses with beer, but probably not sliced in a deli. The health department does not allow cheese to be cut on the meat slicer. They wouldn't use the cheese slicer for bread.... So the chances of cc are probably low in a typical grocery deli.

It's not an endless supply of gluten in a little scratch. If washed well and water is boiled in it, that should take care of it. The first few weeks of gluten-free, people make enough mistakes that a couple of missed gluten molecules won't hurt. Now...if someone keeps putting gluten noodles in that pot, the cleaning could get tedious. Maybe get a pot...

If you can get them clean, in can use them. Things with lots of little holes, like a colander, can be very hard to clean every little hole. But I put my pans in the dishwasher.

I would like to see the studies he is referencing that say that Celiac is associated with the female dna. Never heard of that. Honestly, I think he is making that up. now, he was diagnosed so long ago, before they had the blood tests, maybe he doesn’t have Celiac? Your total IGA is not too low for Celiac testing. The test range isn't specific to Celiac. As I remember, Bob's does their own gluten-free program. I think they were doing it before there were certifications. If it says gluten-free, then it is. Not every company feels the need to pay to put a seal on their package. It isn't like the certifying organization is actually checking or testing. Your child is watching what you are doing , even at 1. I know, I have 2 boys. There are so many things he will learn from seeing you not following your medically necessary diet. Usually, Celiac is diagnosed by an endoscopy not a colonoscopy. It's possible the colonoscopy goes as far as the far end of the small intestine, but not always. -

Regular oats can have some very high level of gluten in them. A Celiac would need to eat gluten-free oats. they are working on tests that require little or no gluten consumption, so you could wait a few years for that.
