  1. Two thoughts- Perhaps, now that you are digesting and absorbing food properly- you are getting (absorbing) more cholesterol? Or it could be unrelated. with the tremors- the fact that they started 2 years later sounds like they may have a cause other than Celiac.
  2. When this “ article” came out, someone posted it on out local FB Celiac page. 2 restaurants commented “ that’s interesting” or “ something to think about”. These were 2 places that we have all worked with and been very safe Places to eat. Now they are thinking we are making too much of a fuss. I think common sense tells us that, just because...
  3. We have updated it . But there isn’t a lot to update - it’s not like spelt will suddenly not be wheat. It isn’t meant to list every product currently made. You need to read ingredients and these are things to look for. Did you have a specific question?
  4. The coconut is different. If I remember it is still in its coconut fiber/huskform. I never worry about a water filter. If they burn the heck out of something to make it into carbon- there isn’t any protein in there.
  5. We use red for gluten free- so a piece of red tape or red pen calls out attention to things. But mostly everything is gluten-free
  6. I would love to know which wineries are actually doing any of this! Please share your info from the wineries. All the ones that I have seen that have been asked this and a wine makers association are saying that they don’t put gluten in finished wine or Use wheat paste to seal barrels.
  7. That’s an odd answer, isn’t it? We follow guidelines, etc but don’t know what is in our ingredients? I got a gluten-free gravy mix - McCormicks i think. Looks like it has “ yeast extract”.
  8. Might want to look into FODMAPs. Also, some people, celiac or not, find the gums, used to help hold gluten-free baked goods together, to be hard to digest
  9. The website says they are using the GIG certification standards. So it is tested at less than 10 ppm ( I think that’s GIG, you could check). This appears to be a big company - not something you get at the farmers market . I would think this is a very safe product.
  10. I have never seen a plain raw turkey with gluten. Sometimes they come with a gravy packet you can throw out.
  11. It took me a while to get to it but - once again - your theory that “ Pellegra” causes Celiac and we can all be cured of Celiac with lots of vitamins. I had plenty of niacin and B vitamins but I still got Celiac. I would like anyone who reads this far to know that this is just a guy’s blog and ramblings. It is not necessarily the view of c dot...
  12. Sounds wonderful! Wish I lived closer.
  13. I use Find me gluten free app and local facebook groups to find restaurants and what’s good and gluten-free there.
  14. Toilet paper does not contain gluten. Coffee filters, paper plates, etc - do k no it contain gluten. Most medications do not contain gluten. Never seen a toothpaste with gluten in the US. Most all shampoo is gluten-free. very few lipsticks contain gluten but if you are using one with wheat germ in the ingredients - why wouldn’t you switch? ...
  15. I was going to post exactly what Ravenwoid posted. Except I was going to use watermelon as my example! ? And your son does know that he can develop Celiac at any time?
  16. If you want you could run your dishwasher with nothing in it. Or use one of those dishwasher cleaners. But I don’t worry about it. My hub still has Gluten bread and we put it all in the same dishwasher.
  17. Just curious - were you at his doctor appointment when he was told he could eat gluten? Or that he didn’t have Celiac?
  18. It says 6-8 sage leaves. And of course gluten-free ingredients - this is Celiac . Com
  19. I think this part is important to remember - first to be diagnosed . That doesn’t mean someone else didn’t or doesn’t have Celiac.
  20. Wow! That a big plate of nachos! We used some left over chili on Tue night to make nachos. I guess we just celebrated a day early!
  21. I haven’t posted lately, so I might make some catch- up posts. tonight we are having a really yummy stir fry on rice. I marinated some chicken in San-J teriyaki . I bought one of those bags of 3 color peppers that are often cheaper than 1 red pepper. Used half of them. I did a few carrots and some spinach and cabbage. Shredded cabbage c...
  22. Thank you! ( tipping my glass of Parducci Petite Sirah)
  23. The comment about “Celiac being new” that you are trying to claim I said - I didn’t. If you look, you will see I quoted the person who said it. Rather than argue a relatively minor point in her/ his post , I only addressed the misconception that having a gene for Celiac does not diagnose Celiac.
  24. I don’t know what the test ranges are but most Celiac tests “6” is either negative or barley positive and not a reason to assume the patient has Celiac. Can you find out what the ranges are for that test? Maybe we could help you better then
  25. I see you added the city. You might check the local celiac and gluten-free Facebook pagesz
