  1. For example- https://www.celiac.com/articles/24962/1/Celiac-Disease-Linked-to-Nearly-Every-Inflammatory-Disorder/Page1.html i think that is the same one?
  2. This article was quoted or reported on on a public “news paper” site a week or more ago. Maybe you could link to that?
  3. I doubt there is any gluten in " oat kernel extract". But the gluten has to get to your small intestines to cause a Celiac reaction. iac rwactio
  4. That's what I thought, too! I think a lorn of people are having problems with lactose.... not casein. I know one of the above posters said low lactose foods were fine
  5. Yes https://www.glutenfreedietitian.com/monosodium-glutamate/
  6. casein is milk protein - it is not in corn. Lots of people with Celiac have a problem digesting lactose. That might be why a high lactose thing like milk bothers you... but a low lactose yogurt does not.
  7. I thought I editted my post - I looked them up and I would use them. I think I have used them before. I think I will get some for Christmas break
  8. Are those International Delight? They are always gluten-free and I use various flavors.
  9. You might find out you both are. why not just do the regular gene test? Then you know they test the correct things. And if our doctor orders it, you might get your insurance to pay for it
  10. Sounds great! The guest bedroom is available.... lol
  11. I am completely uninspired for what to serve for Christmas dinner. Last year, my BIL smoked ribs and I made sides like scalloped potatoes in the crockpot and cheesy corn bake and cornbread. In past years, I make lasagna and different pasta dishes. The good thing about lasagna is that all you really need is a salad with it - so that is very easy. But I...
  12. There are lots of reasons for shaking hands. What does the doctor say?
  13. Is there new legitimate research on this? Please post a link. I have not seen anything that proves that assumption.
  14. Isn’t it rum? Rum is not made from grain. just looked it up- yep. It’s rum and it’s made of sugar cane - no grain. So I don’t even have to explain distillation . ?
  15. There is a Face book page called gluten free Seattle that I like. It talks about restaurants usually
  16. I doubt it Gluten. Closed throat sounds like an allergy ? Or maybe you are getting sick? Or you have some bacteria growing in it?
  17. I think parboiling is supposed to help maintain the quality of some veggies when you freeze them.
  18. That doesn't sound like a light bread. It should be a dense bread.
  19. The post you are responding to is from 2012. The OP may not still be around .
  20. Please know that you need to be eating a regular gluten containing diet to get accurate Celiac blood test and endoscopy.
  21. If your brother was diagnosed with Celiac, that is enough reason for your doctor to test you. "...When an individual is diagnosed with celiac disease, the entire family learns that they must be tested for the condition, for they are now at risk. First-degree relatives (parent, child, sibling) have a 1 in 22 chance of developing celiac disease...
  22. But I don't think they were making the pizza - so the flour from making the crusts wouldn't be flying around in her house or the school.
  23. Do you need to be dairy free? I think most canned frosting has dairy. this is good for dairy free- 4 cups powdered sugar 1 cup shortening (I use spectrum palm oil but Crisco should work) 1 teaspoon vanilla 5-7 teaspoons water Mix well in a mixer. You can add color or flavors like mint or lemon without changing the color. ...
  24. You can do canned frosting. Its gluten-free. I think at least one major brand actually labels it gluten-free. I know there are some box mixes you could use.
  25. That's horrible and selfish! I beg you not to have children with him! I understand that he might not want to eat the gluten-free pizza or bread, but to not allow you to is really awful. Not to understand that you might need a while to get used to not eating stuff you once loved...it's just not loving. When I was diagnosed, I think my youngest...
