  1. Just saw the small kitchen comment - put the gluten pizzas on a table in the living room when the pizza comes, or something like that & keep the gluten-free stuff in the kitchen? Or serve dinner in the basement rec room? If your kids aren't old enough to know not to eat the gluten stuff, then this probably won't work too well.
  2. I would and have done something like that. I get sick from a little cc, but this has worked for me. It costs too much to give everyone gluten-free pizza. I have a big enough kitchen to keep my gluten-free pizza or whatever away from the gluten stuff. You could use paper plates. Then scrub up after. If ÿou are serving salad or something else, keep some ...
  3. Your article is from 2011. And this topic and its posts are from 2011. ?
  4. They don't contain wheat. I drink baileys and kaluha
  5. It does work. That was the last time I actually signed in. But I think, when you see someone hasn't signed in in years, they probably haven't.
  6. You can click on a person's picture to go to their profile. It will tell you when they last signed in to the forum. In this case, it looks like 2006
  7. Maybe you should ask about testing procedures and levels? As long as it tests at less than 20 ppm, its legal. Some will test products at a lower level than that. Maybe that would give you some info you could use? Obviously, you do not eat in restaurants. They probably have a better chance of glutening you. edit - The super sensitives...
  8. I just throw my lids in the top rack of the dishwasher. The lids are not making gluten - so, once any gluten on it or in it has been cleaned or eaten ....there won't be more.
  9. Lower level positives can be from other problems. http://www.cureceliacdisease.org/faq/after-going-gluten-free-can-a-positive-ttg-mean-anything-other-than-gluten-present-in-my-diet/ "...this may simply mean, especially with low titers, that it’s falsely elevated—common in patients who have other autoimmune conditions, such as chr...
  10. It is possible to have other illnesses/conditions, too. Celiac doesn't cure everything. I have been diagnosed for years. I do not have daily pain or complications form Celiac. Most Celiacs I know in real life have the normal age related stuff, but not because of Celiac. ON this forum, you see many people trying to figure out what is wrong with...
  11. How long ago were you tested? Just because you didn't have Celiac 2 years ago - you could have developed it now. That is why the experts recommend you get the genetic test & , if positive, get tested every 2 years.
  12. I don't know. I don't think the one by me has it. It is kind of a small store. what did they say when you asked?
  13. I am not confused. I just want it clarified for people who are new to Celiac and might really believe it is " wheat of the sea".
  14. You are not crazy. But call the GI office where you have the appointment. Maybe they would send you for the blood work first? It might take a little back and forth.... make sure the GI has your records form the other doc, etc. Or go back to the regular doc and demand the blood work? Maybe explain that it takes a while to get a GI appt and you want to...
  15. And I want to clarify that seaweed is NOT wheat and doesn't not contain gluten. Also, Honeysuckle turkey says are gluten free. You seem to have an additional issue with something else, seaweed.
  16. I actually was trying to be helpful, but never mind. Maybe you should ask the doctor what he should eat? Or for a referral to a registered dietitian? Good luck. I hope your son feels better.
  17. A GI doctor did food allergy tests? Seems unusual. The one for wheat - was that a Celiac blood test? Food allergy testing is a bit iffy, but Celiac testing is more accurate.
  18. I wouldn't worry about it. but if you need a cast iron pan, you can "bake" the new or used one in an oven on the self-clean cycle. Then you can season them yourself
  19. Great. I don't see why your regular doc couldn't have given you the Celiac blood tests.. Would speed things up a bit. You might see if he will.
  20. If you have been reading along, you know that being gluten free is not good for testing. YOu must be eating a regular gluten containing diet for about 12 weeks before the blood test.
  21. A cool shower, then....just get it good and clean.
  22. Have you been gluten free? If so, one bowl of cereal isn't enough to get a positive blood test tomorrow.
  23. If possible, shower after a bout. Then dry the area well - might want to blow dry on low. Then apply a layer of hydrocortisone ointment ( not cream) or baby diaper rash ointment. The baby stuff is easier to find but usually has a scent. The point is to protect the skin from moisture. Plain Vaseline will work but doesn't have any thing extra to help...
  24. I get stomach upsets from the sweeteners in gum, I think. I have had the sweeteners on candy and had the same issues.
