  1. Sorry about Austins. did you go to the one in Old Town? we always went to that one and my boys said the burgers were delicious (maybe they got cow not bison?) I loved the Cobb salad - it had avocado!
  2. What are the results of the Celiac antibody blood tests? Just having the genes only means that you could have it. About 30% of people have a gene or two for Celiac. But only about 1% actually have Celiac.
  3. Holy S&%$! I talk too much! And I AM old!
  4. I am not sure if you are talking about the same Cheerios. I know there are other brands that make Cheerios in Europe, so maybe in Australia, too?
  5. I just want you to consider the facts so you don't have the heartache others have had. You really don't know that you are NCGI do you? You probably know that you are gluten intolerant. But you could be Celiac. People can be gluten intolerant for many reasons - some of those reasons, for example FODMAPS, do not require a completely gluten-free diet...
  6. It's your baby.... but untreated Celiac can lead to miscarriages. I think part of being a mother is doing what's is best for your kids, no matter what your friends or some random relative thinks. Perhaps you are not ready to have a child yet? Or maybe you should do a gluten challenge and get tested so you can justify your diet to others or know...
  7. I am just thinking that you actually don't know that you don't have Celiac. so, you might want to act like you do have it. Because, what if you do have Celiac and you aren't treating it?
  8. Probably depends on why he is responding to the gluten-free diet? If he has Celiac, that is a disease that can take a while to heal and return the system to normal. \ I think for anyone, when you drastically change their diet, it can effect their bowl movements. I would think in someone so young, whose GI system is more fragile, a drastic change in...
  9. I know what you mean. Normal! Easy to find at any store. No one looks at it oddly as you are paying. Everyone know the cereal. NO one cares that it is gluten-free except gluten-free people.
  10. I haven't been back in a year and a half because I don't have any kids in school there but I think these will still be good . I assume you can look up addresses. They have Whole Foods and Natural Grocers and many nice grocery stores. These are the ones I have actually been to, they have a bunch of chains that are good like Red Robin, too. a few years...
  11. I am not real familiar with that area. I know there is an Indian restauruant that's is almost entirely gluten-free. If that is of interest, I will ask my friend that goes there for the name. I think there are the usual suspects like Red Robin, too. If you go to the Plaza for the lights, there are many more choices - Seasons 52, PF CHangs...
  12. I bet your "northeast" isn't the same as mine. What area are you looking at? If you don't want it public, you can pm me.
  13. Its a little confusing how you have them written. It looks like the TTG IGG is greater than 100? that is very indicative of Celiac.
  14. Its just that....you have dealt with something so life changing and that limits and adds difficulty to your everyday life....and Celiac is a relatively minor thing compared to that!
  15. Wow! All I have to do is change the way I eat a small amount - and my Celiac is taken care of. Its a pain in the butt sometimes, but not nearly the problem of being paralyzed. I hope you are seeing a psychologist or counselor.
  16. Seattle is fabulous for eating gluten-free. Kansas City has quite a few choices and a couple of bakeries. If you like Colorado - Ft Collins has been good to me. And Longmount area has been good, too. But the altitude might not be good for you?
  17. Your doctor can not test you for Celiac while you are gluten free. The test will be negative, even if you have Celiac. So I guess you could call that a false negative. There are very rarely false positives on the Celiac blood test. Occasionally, a low positive could mean another problem.
  18. Look at your own can and read the ingredients? I have only seen actual Gluten in a soda once - that was a specialty craft soda with barley syrup/ malt in it. There would be no reason to add wheat- but it would need to be labeled as wheat in the US
  19. Don’t go by any product info that is as old as this thread. If you are really worried, find out the brand your pharmacy would give you and call them. The pharmacy should be able to give you a list of the ingredients so you can look at that, too.
  20. I just looked it up on Target and it listed ingredients- looks like any other soda. No gluten ingredients listed.
  21. I haven’t heard of Vernors. But, in the US, Gatorade is gluten-free. Most all soda pops are, too
  22. Sounds like you could have Celiac. Go to your doctor and get a blood test for it. Keep eating Gluten until all testing is done ( not just blood work)
  23. F and G are next to each other on my phone! And the B is by the G? Or my stoopid spell check changed whatever the heck I typed to FB for Facebook? ?. Meant G F - Gluten free
  24. Thanks for that. Over the years, before there was a nIma to mis- use, people would try to use home kits incorrectly to prove something has gluten. I am seeing people mis- use or misunderstand the Nima and its readings now.
  25. Don't see why they wouldn't be. Read the ingredients. I doubt they use any kind of wheat or barley malt in them.
