  1. You might check Facebook, too. There are probably some Celiac or "gluten free" groups that might have an idea.
  2. Schar is a large international gluten free company. It is one of the first big all gluten-free companies. It is always possible to have a gluten mistake, but rather unlikely. They say that they test every batch for gluten.
  3. You can get single serve Jiff or Skippy at Target, etc.
  4. If you won't eat gluten free, you won't heal your Celiac damage. It will get worse. If you really feel this bad, perhaps that will be enough to convince you to eat gluten free?
  5. YOu could bring a toaster and bread. But I think bringing some nuts, crackers and PB ( careful as a carry on on plane), or protein bars wouldn be easier.
  6. Myalgia is not a diagnosis. It is just a fancy word for sore muscles..
  7. . Ingredients & information from 10 years ago may have changed. IN the US and Canada, modified food starch is almost never made from wheat. the laws of both countries require that, if it is made from wheat, that it be specified. I have seen it , maybe two or three times. It was labeled either modified wheat starch or modified starch ( wheat). ...
  8. Thank you for responding to this 7 year old post. Looks like this is a good time to re- visit some of these Celiac myths/ concerns. here is a good article that addresses several ingredients that people frequently question. https://www.glutenfreeliving.com/gluten-free-foods/ingredients/top-10-ingredients-you-really-dont-need-to-worry-about/ ...
  9. I eat them often. Mission makes sooooo many chips and sooooo many corn tortillas- they don't need to share equipment.
  10. Wth a positive blood test of >100, it has to be celiac. It is possible there is something else too. But don't let him talk his way out of a Celiac diagnosis.
  11. You haven't heard the biopsy result she yet? It's quite possible the doctor missed the sections of the small intestine - did they do an endoscopy or just a colonoscopy? I am assuming, from what you wrote, that she is extremely anemic? Maybe deficient in B12 and D also? Those are also indicators of Celiac.
  12. I guess that it is possible that it could be DH...you aren't gluten free. Why did you decide to go "gluten light"? If you were actually diagnosed with Celiac," gluten light " is not good enough.
  13. IN the US, I have never seen any with gluten. I know that in Canada & the UK adding gluten is more common.
  14. Probably any coffee bean in a package would be free of cc from gluten. Coffee isn't grown or harvested with wheat. A coffee "factory" would only make coffee.
  15. I think it isn't a gluten issue, but I have seen people with issues with the brown rice - maybe it's more fiber?
  16. Finally got a response from them - much like the one I got before. But $10 off is very good! Hi there, Karen!First and foremost, Happy Birthday! ? Thank you for reaching out and being such a fan of CPK! We truly appreciate comments such as these so we can continue improving. I will be sure to pass this along to our Culinary and Development Team. They...
  17. So your Celiac antibodies were negative? And a negative biopsy? Don't see that you had Celiac back then
  18. It can be different, based on what country you are in. Will she let you read the ingredients?
  19. That isnt really enough for me to go on.... but ....being negative for Celiac years ago, you could have developed it now. But if you have been eating gluten free for all that time, than your Celiac disease should be " in remission". So, even if you have Celiac, your current issues may be from a different cause.
  20. And it's not like I really need the dessert - I made 20+ dozen cupcakes on friday- so I can have some birthday cake. It's just the principle of the thing. Ennis- that sounds like what we used to do with extra pie crust when I was a kid! So yummy.
  21. So I LOVE California Pizza Kitchen. Yes, they have a limited gluten-free pizza menu, but it is yummy and safe. I belong to the pizza dough rewards program. We have gotten $5 off here and there from it. For your birthday month ( October for me), they give you a " gift" - a free dessert. However, there are no gluten-free desserts. I pointed this...
  22. If it makes you feel any better - lots of people get gastric upset from contrast/ dye. It's just normal. the person who might know what is in the dye is the radiology tech.
  23. So...you have celiac but have only been gluten-free or a month? Or you just decidead to try gluten-free and see what happened? If you don't have Celiac, you should probably see a doctor. gluten-free isn't the cure for everything.
  24. Lots of people do! You may have been eating gluten-free oats and not realized it. Some gluten-free crackers & cookies have oats in them
