  1. what specifically is the problem? Have you been re- tested for gluten antibodies?
  2. Unless you got it biopsies, it probably wasn't DH. DH does not disappear when you stop dairy. Unfortunately, There are lots of nasty rashes.
  3. i think to biopsy your DH, you just need fresh lesion. If you get that after 2 days... that would be enough. http://www.cureceliacdisease.org/faq/what-is-dermatitis-herpetiformis-dh/ http://www.cureceliacdisease.org/faq/can-a-skin-biopsy-for-dermatitis-herpetiformis-dh-confirm-celiac-disease-or-is-an-endoscopy-still-needed...
  4. I haven't heard that. but just wait a week to satisfy the other parent?
  5. Here is the current info from gluten-free Watchdog - Dear Gluten Free Watchdog community, Here is the link to a post just published on Gluten Free Watchdog about sending gluten-free food to folks impacted by Hurrincane Harvey https://www.glutenfreewatchdog.org/news/sending-gluten-free-food-to-folks-impacted-by-hurricane-harvey/ Here is the...
  6. Dear Gluten Free Watchdog community, First and foremost, for anyone impacted by Hurricane Harvey, our thoughts are with you and we hope you and your loved ones are safe. If you need gluten-free food and have an address where the food can be shipped for pick up, please let me know. Some members of the community have reached out asking what we can...
  7. Saw this on Facebook & saw the gluten-free watchdog was organizing something, too If you’d like to help food allergy families, here’s how… The San Antonio Food Bank is coordinating food efforts to help ALL of Texas hurricane victims right now. San Antonio is clear and sunny and having no issues with roads closures or mail delay...
  8. Go Picnic has donated to tornado disasters in the past. At one time, they were trying to get the Red Cross to stock some - but not sure how it went. IN the past, The Red Cross basically said that 'beggars can't be choosers". I think the Red Cross does great work, but I hope in the years since the Joplin tornado that thinking has changed.
  9. Just an FYI - This thread is from 2008, so these people may not answer. Arsenic is naturally occurring in fruits, veggies, grains, etc
  10. If you have read about Celiac, you know it isn't an allergy and allergy testing won't diagnose it. you must be on a gluten containing diet to get tested.
  11. The test you had done will have the normal range on it. It's something like 8 or 10. You have some particularly dangerous side effects of Celiac.... not sure why you would want to down play them? Have you talked to your OB? I bet she wouldn't want you to get pregnant for a few months until you have the platelets back to This is from...
  12. Tapioca is what is in the traditional Brazilian Cheese bread. There are different recipes but they are yummy! Chebe mixes are basically a Brazilian cheese bread. There are a couple of great frozen ones, too - just heat up. I have found them at Sprouts and Costco. There is nothing evil about tapioca - it isn't even considered a grain.
  13. My boys are 21 and 24. They have tested negative before, but if symptoms arise, they get tested. One had some symptoms And tested - it was negative. Worked out the problem - not Celiac. But it is good for them to keep it in mind.
  14. And if you are going glutenfree right now, you may mess up the biopsy results. You have to be eating gluten to get positive test results. Witha ttg over 100, there isn't much doubt that you have Celiac, but I would hate for you to have a negative biopsy after eating gluten-free & have some dumb doctor tell you that you do not have Celiac.
  15. When not wait 6 months, until you are healthy? Untreated Celiac is known to cause miscarriages. Low iron and wonky platelets aren't good for a pregnancy, either. http://www.cureceliacdisease.org/faq/will-exposure-to-gluten-during-pregnancy-cause-any-problems-with-the-baby/
  16. A lot of cheap stuff doesn't even use barrels. An expensive one might use a barrel that had a wheat paste used to seal it.... But it shouldn't be inside the barrel. If they go to the expense to do it the old fashioned way, they are very careful about the purity of tier product.
  17. I have used pumpkin instant pudding mix in cookies. Then used cinnamon chips instead of chocolate. Not tried with a mix.
  18. The better craft breweries don't or seldom use sorghum. I am sure he knows this. Its easy to find on the internet. Sorghum gives a sweet taste to the beer.
  19. DH need to be biospsied on the skin next to a fresh lesion. Also, Celiac damage is rarely seems by the naked eye - it requires a microscope.
  20. Nature Valley has some that are gluten-free. But I don't think these are. Oats must be "gluten free oats". Oats are usually contaminated with wheat during harvesting and transport. gluten-free oats are specially grown, or at least sorted, to be gluten-free.
  21. Some people might have a problem with the gum, but that is no at a gluten issue
  22. I haven't been in a couple of years for a tater, but, when I went before, I said " allergy" and not to unwrap the potato. They handed me packets of sour cream and butter. They might have ingredients printed on them? Maybe " light" sour cream is the only kind they have? The ones I have been to told me not to get the cheese because of how it was located...
  23. I don't use one. I found they had a lot of mis information & not nearly all of the products I was buying.
  24. Yes. Aspartame and the sweetener in gum make me feel like a gluten ache. But it is short lived and doesn't cause the exhaustion and diarrhea I get from gluten
