  1. Bourbon is gluten-free,...but if you are worried about that, go with a mass marketed cheaper kind - probably made in metal containers. Call or message a few and ask.
  2. Sorry. Your original post made it sound, to me, like you picked a random Greek restauruant and assumed all Greek restauruant Susie the same ingredients! Lol hydrolized soy protein couldn't have wheat - it's soy. Soy is a plant completely different than wheat.
  3. I eat Sabra hummus. But I think Bob's may be doing sorted instead of purity protocol oats now.
  4. I want to picnic with you! Themed meals! I just pack some PB & Js and a bag of chips and a bag of carrots. If they are lucky ...there are cookies or little bags of Skittles! My boys would have liked to find a new park with a cool play ground or public spray park.
  5. Your best bet would be to call the manager and talk to them. I don't think the Cabela's by us has much of a restaurant. Last I remember it was just a fast food place. Maybe find someplace like a Red Robin near the Cabelas? Or take a picnic and find a nice park nearby
  6. That sound horrible! I am sure some cruises are better than others, but that is scary. I am sure eating Cheerios didn't help either!
  7. Did you go to the one you are actually going to? It sounds like you didn't. Just because one place uses one ingredient, doesn't mean another doesn't make food a bit differently. And then there is the issue of cross contamination and how careful they will be to keep your food gluten-free. Or if they even have a clue what gluten-free means. I think...
  8. In that general area.
  9. just an FYI - this thread is from 2008 - they might not see this or respond
  10. Read the ingredients? Never seen a pudding with gluten. Exception is " bread pudding" but I thing you are talking about the yummy creamy stuff made with milk.
  11. This isn't the place to debate if you think it is morally wrong to drink milk or eat meat or listen to Black Sabbath.... I want to apologize to the posters with legitimate questions and suggestions - they did not come on here to be shamed for eating dairy - which is a legal, gluten-free, socially acceptable, etc food group.
  12. I think that is a bit of an over reaction. Lactaid just gives you the enzyme you aren't making enough of. I don't think lactose is "poisoning" anyone. Dairy free cheeses are fine if you need them, but they are not much like real cheese. Many of them contain a lot of odd, maybe not great, ingredients.
  13. A single glutening should not show up in Celiac blood tests. They are meant to show repeat exposures to gluten http://www.cureceliacdisease.org/faq/do-i-need-to-have-a-follow-up-test-each-time-i-get-glutened/ "Follow-up tests are intended to test whether there’s significant (and repeated) exposure to gluten. A mistake (or two) may cause s...
  14. I have used the brand name. it was gluten-free a few years ago. Not sure what they would add to make it contain gluten. Very few medications actually have gluten in them.
  15. I am wondering what you are trying to say. Are you going to share a recipe? If so, please remember that people with Celiac disease cannot eat real rye bread. They can eat buckwheat because it is not actually wheat.
  16. Sounds gluten-free to me.

  18. Yes they are talking about stuff like lunch meat as one issue. Then red meat/beef as a second issue. The article doesn't say anything about chicken, etc. And it is more of a compilation of info from studies. Sometimes a study that finds that people in a country that eat a lot of beef get more of X cancer - it doesn't always take into account that maybe...
  19. Exactly! It talks about moderation in meat consumption. It never says we all need to go vegan.
  20. Do have someone you can trust, like a sister or parent, to help you keep the numbers straight? Get them to help you now! So many businesses don't get the numbers right in the beginning. I know you are trying really hard and are pretty thorough. I just want this to work for you ..... for my own selfish reasons ( more gluten-free options.....gluten-free...
  21. Maybe you shouldn't take all these movies you watch so literally? Maybe check the actual report/ study before you get too upset? I think you might be exaggerating the WHO findings? but, if you want to go vegan - there are more grains a Celiac can have than can't.
  22. I know many Celiacs that eat at Chick Fil A successfully. They have grilled chicken and it comes straight from the grill to the customer. By giving you the wrapped bun, eliminates the bun step and a lot of possible cc. All restaurants that have any gluten in them - use the possible cc statement. I linked to this for those who would like...
  23. I guess you will not be eating much yeast bread as a little sugar helps it rise. If the amount of sugar in a bun you eat once in a while at a restaurant is a concern, I am sure you could ask how much it is? Or just eat your grilled chicken as a lettuce wrap? And I guess you won't be having the milkshake?
  24. I didn't put this on for those of you who never eat out or have not gotten your health under control. I put this on for the majority of everyday Celiacs, living their lives, and who eat at Chick Fil A and other places with a good gluten-free reputation. I realize that most of them are not posting on here, but some do read the new topic headlines to see...
  25. http://www.cnbc.com/2017/06/19/chick-fil-a-adds-gluten-free-bun-to-its-menu.html "...The chicken chain on Monday rolled out a gluten-free bun nationwide. .."
