  1. I am wondering what you are trying to say. Are you going to share a recipe? If so, please remember that people with Celiac disease cannot eat real rye bread. They can eat buckwheat because it is not actually wheat.
  2. Sounds gluten-free to me.

  4. In which country? And she was asking about ketchup in India back in 2011
  5. It does matter. Don't stop eating gluten until all tests are finished. Maybe check for another GI? "Any changes in your diet can affect the accuracy of your biopsy results. You must be eating gluten every day, in an amount equivalent to at least 1 slice of bread, for at least 2 to 3 weeks before the procedure. If you are scheduled for a biopsy and...
  6. Your family doctor can get the diagnosis process started by ordering the Celiac blood panel. The GI is going to need that, and it might save you a few weeks time by getting it done before your first GI appointment.
  7. Yes they are talking about stuff like lunch meat as one issue. Then red meat/beef as a second issue. The article doesn't say anything about chicken, etc. And it is more of a compilation of info from studies. Sometimes a study that finds that people in a country that eat a lot of beef get more of X cancer - it doesn't always take into account that maybe...
  8. We will just see if that was enough time to raise your antibodies. They usually recommend 3 months for blood work at the U of Chicago. Because Celiac is an autoimmune & genetic disease, it would be good to know.
  9. So.... you had the blood test but you are gluten free? Or you ate gluten for a month? The blood test requires you to eat gluten for an extended period of time to work.
  10. I don't see any gluten
  11. I am not sure where you got your statistics? It seems a bit misleading. Of course, if many people are tested, not all of them have Celiac. For example, my non-symptomatic kids get tested every few years and it is always negative. I think the statistics to check are the tests accuracy. The current blood tests are quite accurate. People with DH...
  12. Open Original Shared Link "Gluten is only toxic to celiac patients and patients with dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) if ingested. Because gluten cannot be absorbed through the skin, the use of cosmetic and shampoos containing gluten has not been shown to be detrimental to patients with celiac disease or DH. However, we do recommend gluten-free lip...
  13. I worry about shampoo....if it has actual "wheat germ " listed. I do tend to get it in my mouth. Unfortunately, some people don't under stand the way skin works. IF everything could enter thru our skin, why have skin? There are a few things that actually can get through all the layers of skin, but not many. The medical patches are specially designed...
  14. I use Neutrogena and the Equate Walmart kind. No gluten ingredients. Celiacs don't need to worry about things they don't eat having gluten.
  15. There is a lot of Celiac research done by Researchers from India. The latest national Celiac symposium was in India. Maybe if you look at the site , you can find which hospitals have Celiac programs. Check their websites or call for info? Open Original Shared Link
  16. Even if the animal ate gluten, the meat is still gluten free. if it's just meat, it's gluten free.
  17. There likely was no gluten in the snocone. But you might want to figure outj why she is NCGI. Maybe it's FODMAPS? Wheat is a high FODMAP food, but I think the snow cone is, too. You don't store gluten, so you aren't cleansing yourself of it. Healing from Celiac damage does take time. Depending on why you think she is NCGI, she may not need much...
  18. I agree with what Peter said. Also, because he doesn't actually have Celiac, you may not need to be as extremely careful as a Celiac. That will make life much easier, especially when eating out or at parties, etc.
  19. Actually, there are Celiac centers, such as the Univ of Chicago, that research DH. I think something recent came out about idodine and dh. Let me look. Of course, none of this will work if you aren't 100% gluten free. here you go - Open Original Shared Link I am guessing that there are more poeple with dH than 1 in 2000.

  21. Exactly! It talks about moderation in meat consumption. It never says we all need to go vegan.
  22. Do have someone you can trust, like a sister or parent, to help you keep the numbers straight? Get them to help you now! So many businesses don't get the numbers right in the beginning. I know you are trying really hard and are pretty thorough. I just want this to work for you ..... for my own selfish reasons ( more gluten-free options.....gluten-free...
  23. Maybe you shouldn't take all these movies you watch so literally? Maybe check the actual report/ study before you get too upset? I think you might be exaggerating the WHO findings? but, if you want to go vegan - there are more grains a Celiac can have than can't.
  24. I know many Celiacs that eat at Chick Fil A successfully. They have grilled chicken and it comes straight from the grill to the customer. By giving you the wrapped bun, eliminates the bun step and a lot of possible cc. All restaurants that have any gluten in them - use the possible cc statement. I linked to this for those who would like...
  25. Has he had a recent blood test for Celiac? That would be where I would start. If it is still negative, I would look for other things, like a FODMAP issue.
