  1. Lol! Tonight we had grilled salmon with grilled pineapple salsa, smushed red skin potatoes, corn salad and some sea salt caramel gelato!
  2. We like the Chebe mixes. Either the Focaccia or the pizza crust mix. For Pizza crust, we don't add the cheese. I bake it about 10 minutes before I top it. http://www.chebe.com
  3. THe first time I made one, I was so upset. I'm usually pretty calm. My hub - just goop it on. It's fine! And it was.
  4. It's so hot here, I think we may just have piña coladas for dinner!
  5. Yes. Sticky is normal. Here is what I do. I lay out plastic wrap on a big cutting mat or extra cookie sheet, plop the glop of dough on it, put more plastic wrap on top, then roll or press out thought the plastic wrap. Then take the top wrap off, use the cookie sheet and flip it over onto what you are cooking it on.
  6. They sell vodka, too? I'm in Kansas and the liquor laws wouldn't allow that. They do sell lovely wine based vinegars! I use the basil olive oil on garlic bread sticks. Toasted seasame oil in stir fry! That stuff is so yummy, I could almost drink it!
  7. I have been wanting to try one. Seems like I would have to eat too much to get my moneys worth!
  8. Do you have one of those olive oil stores? Those are dangerous too!
  9. We have a Penzys store and we have to stay out of it. We get stuff we don't need. Tonight we are going to the baseball game so I'm just packing a ham and cheese. Will get a Redbridge and maybe some popcorn there.
  10. I have never seen that! Looks great!
  11. What do you mean by " apple beer"? Hard cider?
  12. I put a little turkey in the freezer from a few weeks ago. We are having Bisquick turkey pot pie tonight. I add some potatoes to the original recipe. Yum.
  13. I know what you mean. Sometimes it's just too much effort for 1 or 2 people when you have other things going on. Maybe on a day off? Or cook things that make good left overs?
  14. I have kids at CSU in FT Collins. We were up in Dillon. Vinny's is in Frisco. The trout special used gluten-free bread crumbs! http://vinnysfriscorestaurant.com We eat at Beau Jo's pizza. They have locations around Colorado. http://www.beaujos.com Then there are the usual places like PF Chang's, Brazilian steakhouses, Spoons outback, etc. ...
  15. The thread was about the fact that Omission is made with barley. That is why your posts were confusing to me. We weren't talking about the same thing, I guess. Duara is the other beer made that way. Other gluten free beers are not made that way - at least all the common ones currently.
  16. Schar are sold off the shelf and you bake them for a few minutes before you do anything else. We had Udis baguette at a restaurant the other night made into garlic cheese bread and it was great! http://www.schar.com/en-us/products/us-bread/baguettes
  17. For this type of thing - where the bread is second to the topping - Udis baguettes or Shars are good. You slice and toast first. Then top. College....hmmmmm... That's tricky. Let me think on that.
  18. I make this stuff that I put on toasted gluten-free baguettes - it's lightly cooked apples and onions and a drizzle of balsamic reduction. Apples and onions go great together. And you know I'm just kidding about dating you.... I really might just adopt you. Your chore will be cooking! You may call me Mom! Lol
  19. The apples sound delicious! I think I'm in love! I'll date you! Does it matter than I am your mother's age and married? Lol
  20. Glad you found one! I have not found that many sausages in the US have gluten but I haven't looked for boudin.
  21. Last night was our last night in Colorado - we went to Vinnys in Frisco. So good with food issues! I had a great poached pear, chèvre and candied pecan salad, beef tenderloin in a nice sauce ( they cook bones for days to make the sauce & no thickener needed) on polenta. Tonight we got home late and ordered pizza from Minsky's. I have eaten out ...
  22. I think you are misunderstanding something here? Omission and Daura are made with barley. Other gluten-free beers, like New Planet are not made with any gluten grains. Not sure why you would be skeptical about NP's gluten content? Did you think they were all gluten " removed"?
  23. All that OJ? Of course its healthy and for breakfast!
  24. Oooo...Evil Addy! I looked on line and there are actually a million recipes for vodkas slushes using various juices and combos of juices. I am staying in this condo in Colorado and there is a sign that says " alcohol. Because no great story ever started with someone eating a salad"
  25. One of these thingys http://www.cooking.com/product_115016_11/?ccaid=CKFROOG115016&utm_Source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=115016&utm_campaign=Product_Listing_Ads&gdftrk=gdfV23800_a_7c2305_a_7c10525_a_7c115016&gclid=CJyIgYGevr8CFUc0aQodPXgA0w
