  1. We like Newman's own marinara but most are gluten-free. It about $2 at target or Walmart and close to $4 at the grocery. There might be one that has wheat, but I haven't found it. I found its too hard to make both gluten-free and regular pasta at once. Trying to keep the spoons separate, the colanders separate....it was too much work and anxiety. We...
  2. Do they count as a vegetable?
  3. There could be flour in chili or taco seasoning. A few of them have flour and its labelled in the inbredients. i like Williams brand.
  4. I do too.....but I think this one may not end well for the " plump little meat chicken".
  5. We like to blame everything on gluten, but maybe some of your issues have nothing to do with gluten? Something we all need to remember. Ways to add calories - oil. If you eat a hamburger - get the full fat versions. Add a little olive oil to a cooked veg or chicken. Eat high Calories foods like avocado and coconut. Bacon? I know its not heart healthy...
  6. The pie crust doesn't have tapioca. I am going to try it for something, probably not pie.
  7. Little tiny chunks of cheese. I put my comments on the bacon thread with the "recipe" the Pillsbury dough was just in the regular grocery with all the other refrigerated Pillsbury doughs. I would have missed it but I was thinking about getting the boys a can of rolls. The pizza dough is mainly tapioca so its chewy. Worked well for the little balls...
  8. http://beta.abc.go.com/shows/the-chew/recipes/Chocolate-Caramel-Peanut-Bars-Popcorn-Gelato-Michael-Symon I made the candy bar part of these last night! They are soooo good! And easy to make. Not sure about popcorn gelato tho.
  9. We had Experimental Dinner. Rules of Exp. Dinner: I make some recipes I have been wanting to try. They may have nothing to do with each other and make a strange meal. If you don't like it you don't have to eat it but you have to try everything. Constructive comments are encouraged. Tonight's was a success! Everyone liked everything just the way it...
  10. I think butter might have Whey in it, too? If you can't do dairy? I guess they don't use the whey part in regular butter but it is used to give a buttery taste to things: "Whey cream and butter[edit] Cream can be skimmed from whey. Whey cream is more salty, tangy, and “cheesy” than ("sweet") cream skimmed from milk, and can be used to make whey but...
  11. I guess we can see why he's your BF tonight!
  12. They don't take a " vow" to not say anything bad about other practitioners. There are internal hospital ways to handle things. For instance, we took away a surgeon's privileges to do anything more complicated than a tonsillectomy. He was good at the simple procedures but not the harder stuff. Every death in a hospital is reviewed by several people. Believe...
  13. We don't do corn that way. This way is yummy and easy and its "The way we have always done it!". I'll give you J's phone number. But don't call for dinner ideas - phones are not for talking. Please text! I had a friend that got so tired of her kids saying "food" when asked what they wanted to eat, she served them bird food.
  14. Oh yes, W8! We are very cute! Hub said he would be home and grill. Asked 17 yr old....." I don't care. It s all good". 20 yr old " burgers!". So we had burgers - we mix the very lean hamburger with BBQ sauce. Then really good corn on the cob - peel, butter and wrap in foil & grill. Ore Ida crinkle fries in the oven! Forgot I was going to put...
  15. Even chickens like to hire a baby sitter occasionally! Eat some good food for me in Boston! Will be expecting pictures and some tales of raucous behavior!
  16. I have had one, maybe 2 since gluten-free and was fine. They are widely available, so if you are traveling, they work well. We were supposed to have a hotel with a full kitchen once. We got there and they had sold the place and it was being remodeled as apartments. Ended up needing something I could eat with a microwave. Glad these things are available...
  17. I have had a couple of Amy's pre gluten-free. I liked a couple and hated a couple. Glutenfreeda makes yummy frozen burritos. http://www.glutenfreedafoods.com/pizza-wraps.html
  18. I can tell you what the High School football coaches told my son - after working out, eat 2 PB & J sandwiches & a glass of milk. The point being to eat a good amount of calories and protein.
  19. My guys like to eat chili over pasta. The corn pasta works the best if you want gluten-free pasta. Maybe he would like to order gluteny pizza or McDonalds or Subway? Lasagna freezes well and re-heats. Cut it into small thin squares for better re-heating.
  20. Just want to remind everyone that this is not a forum for political debate.
  21. I think that is the one my folks just got. It works very well. I cooked lasagna in it on Sunday. The top cleans better than my " glass" top does. Better make a pizza and test it.
  22. All info on here is 5 years old and may be out of date. Here is the current info on Icees. They are gluten-free https://www.icee.com/faqs/
  23. I have the same problem with aspartame, too. I though of another- mimosa!
  24. Wine coolers are usually a malt ( barley) based beverage. A lot of places have hard ciders. I have never seen one with gluten and most even say gluten-free on them. If you want a couple of drinks, you could order something like a shot of rum and a diet or regular coke with some lime. Pour half you rum in your first Coke and half in the second. I know...
