  1. but the gene test is NOT going to r/o celiac!
  2. fasting blood sugar is not the gold standard. a glucose tolerance test is required. that said, has he had fasting blood sugars done in the past, and if so, how do they compare?
  3. The ANA is not negative. if you look closely at the top of the lab report, i suspect you will see headings such as "normal" and "result". negative being normal, and your daughter's number under results. if you can, scan it in and bring here.
  4. the IgA, prob would the the one you would want. talk to the doc about the rest. there is probably other req. sheets for more specialized uses.
  5. if you had improvement with the diet, you may well be a celiac. drop the dairy, retry the wheat etc, and get tested. BUT be prepared that reintroducing gluten (wheat) may produce unwanted effects.
  6. if it is a small amount, and bright red, probably from being constipated. however, you are not "too" young to have things checked out. get the full celiac panel done, you may have to pay out of pocket, include allergy to wheat, just to cover the bases. get really insistant. if you mom is in your corner, take her with you, perhaps you will be taken more...
  7. try to turn it around. you have been given a gift of fairly early dx. you kids have the chance to grow to normal size and function, and avoid some of the more common behavioural issues.
  8. the nutritionist is wrong, gluten free labeling means under 20 parts per mil. you will not know if she is super sensitive till she has been absolutely gluten free for a long while. no gluten free goodies either. you all need to be tested: mom, dad, and sibs.
  9. dad needs to step up his parenting game for at least the next 6 months. some extended family help would not hurt. second the 504 plan. you are sending lunches with, yes? she can not eat anything provided in the school without you checking it out.
  10. look at it from the public's side, do we want a fuzzy headed cop?
  11. a month is not long enough, especially with the steep learning curve of the gluten free diet. keep gluten free for at least 6 months, retest, and perhaps you can find another doc that will dx on the +gene, improved condition and lower numbers.
  12. get thee to a private doc, not on your insurance, and get tested. and, yes, quit the tobacco, you knew that was coming yes?
  13. the celiac could have preexisted the type one DM, you should be tested, and his father, and any sibs.
  14. the gene test is not worth a whole lot. It will not dx you, unless the doc is willing to go on a positive there, and dietary response. and if your gene test is negative for the two that they test for, it does not mean you are not celiac.
  15. not gluten related, but, yes, it is important for him to understand that it is transitory. I was given tramadol for pain post injury, w/o being warned about its alteration in mood regulating chemicals. When i went off it, I was a raging idiot. thought i was losing my mind. went off on a doc, got no returned to that practice, no loss there, he was an ass...
  16. http://www.progressivehealth.com/rls-b12.htm, i am not familiar with this website, but it would be a starting place for you. your Vit B12 level is abysmal.
  17. they can not biopsy with virtual scope....
  18. mmmmmmmm, telling myself to take a deep breath.....your doc is an ass. get new doc, take records with, to new doc. make sure new doc is celiac aware. argh...... deep breath....
  19. appears you have one + on labs, with a very low IgA, and + genes. good luck
  20. when you get dx, if you choose to do so, report this doc to the state medical board. one report is not going to make a big difference, but if they accumulate....not only was the doc rude, but is dangerous.
  21. i have never heard those proscriptions before, why do you have them?
