  1. doc wrong, find new doc. cycling and I may not be docs, but we do know our way around a blood test or two. good luck. and remember her "wrongness" if anyone asks for suggestions for a doc.
  2. you need a new peds, if the IgG is +, he needs further testing, esp. since YOU are dx celiac.
  3. yup, do not get me started on bad docs! if the numbers do go down. is she going to dx you? or is she going to require that you go back on gluten and start the testing? idiot.
  4. PLEASE, get him tested for type one diabetes, please. and get yourself retested for celiac. the tests can turn positive at any time, and you need the complete panel.
  5. what does the ped think is the problem? the kiddo is sick, why? was her IGA level within normal? i would push for further testing, including DGP A+G. you are going to lose valuable growth time if you wait.
  6. yes, start your own topic. Macrocytic anemis, IS B 12 def anemia.
  7. yup, call doc. if TWO nurses can't help you with this...got to go to the source. lol
  8. i understand CL point, BUT,,, he is at an age were major growth should be expected, and you might not get that back if you keep him on gluten, even small amounts at school. if he is a reasonably mature 13 year old i would have a sit down with him and explain the situation, perhaps he would elect to wait till he is older, and grown.
  9. there is no test for sensitivity, that is a celiac test. make sure you are eating gluten up till the scope time.
  10. frankly, i think he is too young to put through the re exposure. if the testing had been done properly in the first place... but he can not really understand why you would be causing him pain. and he needs to make up the lost growth. try to get a thorough genetic testing, not JUST for the 2 genes recognized in the USA.
  11. Immodium comes n liquid form... I can not imagine what is causing the withdrawal problem...but what is, is.
  12. hmm pepto has routinely bee recommended here. it is not going to interfere with the disease process... just be aware that your stool will be black.
  13. the genetics testing WILL NOT RULE OUT celiac, they only test for two genes, and there are others.. RAVEN, where are you????
  14. PCOS may be caused by hormones, but we don't know WHAT throws those hormones out of wack. those of you dx, you are on LOW carb diets, yes?
  15. Ennis, how about a gluten free "camp", do you have 4-H down your way? perhaps you could do a day camp when the resident camping is finished for the year?
  16. there are only a few here that are "into" the gene testing, and, remember that not having the usual two, does NOT rule out celiac.
  17. the gene test is NOT a slam dunk, don't have celiac if test is negative.
  18. karen is more polite than I. make arrangements for a different doc, and then ask this one why he/she lied to you.
