  1. That sounds a whole lot better and much more fun!!!
  2. My dinner was easy...a hamburger, fresh green beans and a twice-baked potato (one of the few things I occasionally pick up from my local grocery store deli). I'm about to have an Edy's Strawberry Fruit Bar.
  3. I just threw chicken in the oven and I'll have red potatoes and yellow squash. Now that's looking a lot better than last week! Wonder if I can keep it up all week. I've been in a terrible rut lately. And fresh blueberries later this evening.
  4. Thanks so much, Liz! I will try it to see how it compares with the other recipes I've used. And I do have both sorghum flour and potato starch.
  5. I haven't tried that one...don't have any of Carol Fenster's cookbooks. Is the recipe online? Flour? I've got flour! Jules had a Memorial Day special...buy two bags, get one free. First time I've bought anyone's flour. Otherwise I'd mix my own "Nearly Normal Flour", which I figure hers is based on.
  6. Shovel? In exchange for food? Darn, I never thought of your terrible winters ...I only thought about gourmet food!!! I don't do winter, even here...merely put up with it while waiting for spring. Yes, so far this is my favorite crust. And I recently bought 3 five-lb. bags of her flour. The only other pizza crust I've tried is from...
  7. Yes, considering I pretty much avoided it and cheese for almost a year (I'm not counting the time I bought the exorbitantly over-priced Amy's cheese pizza that was so dreadful). I think it's been at least two or three weeks since I made it. Your pizza sounds soooo gourmet! Think I'll stop by for a piece when you make it. Actually, can I just come...
  8. I made pizza again using Jules Shepard's recipe and doctored it up a bit more with additional Italian herbs and crushed red pepper. Added saut
  9. Last night I had a hamburger on a Rudi's bun. The bun was okay. It was the only brand my local health food store had. I think I can do just as well by making my own hamburger buns and a whole lot cheaper than $5.99 for four. I still want to try Udi's.
  10. I have no idea of any links but will say that I still have my appendix as well as all my other body parts.
  11. Tonight I'm having a leftover salmon pattie, sweet potato fries and broccoli. Plus Pumpkin-Chocolate Chip Cookies I had a box of BC gluten-free chocolate chip cookie mix that I wanted to use before it expires. I goofed in reading the directions so mine has a stick of butter, not 1/4 cup that the recipe calls for. Maybe that's why they taste so...
  12. Tonight I had salmon patties, potato salad and raw veggies (celery, carrots and grape tomatoes). Dark sweet cherries later.
  13. And sometimes that's nice!!! (Actually that sounds like a feast to me!)
  14. It's hot here, too...a balmy 97
  15. I can relate...I like the Chardonnay best!
  16. It looks delicious! I had an egg salad sandwich and potato chips (Lay's Stax). Too tired to do anything else. (Oh, and 2 glasses of Chardonnay. Yum!)
  17. Sounds pretty exciting to me. I worked out in the yard and have yet to give dinner a thought. Of course, I don't have to come up with dinner for a family of 7 either.
  18. You can always dream, can't cha?
  19. Actually in Free For All Cooking she lists a lot of substitutions for her all-purpose flour. Other flour could definitely be substituted for corn flour. Her basic flour blend there doesn't resemble the "Nearly Normal Flour" mix, which I think is what she came up with when she started selling her 5-lb bags of flour...it's based on the flour mix she used...
  20. I've not yet bought masa harina (but will try it). The corn flour I have is BRM. And it is a fine flour, not corn starch. Definitely not cornmeal, which is coarse.
  21. I like Annalise's recipe but think I prefer Jules'. More like a "normal" pizza crust that we were used to eating prior to going gluten-free. In other words, "white flour". She is quite generous sharing a lot of recipes on her blog. And I ordered more of her flour...(sigh)
  22. Tonight I made pizza using Jules Shepard's recipe in her newest cookbook, Free For All Cooking. The recipe is also on her blog: http://blog.julesglu.../2011/02/pizza/ Cute video to watch the process, too. I was very pleased with the results. In her cookbook she suggests saut
  23. I went to my son and DIL's and brought potato salad. My son grilled hamburgers (I 'grilled' him on the state of his grill yesterday...pun intended), I brought my own hamburger bun and mayo. My DIL fixed Caprese salad (yum!), had relishes, fruit and made gluten-free Betty Crocker brownies for dessert. I got to meet their new 4-month old puppy...also brought...
  24. Yes! http://gomeat.com/pr...ed-sausage.aspx Edit: Oops....I pulled up the regular little smokies.
