  2. It is very, very good with shrimp and would work well with scallops. Sometimes you just have to have a big ol' bowl of really flavourful noodles. "Color flavor" - love it!

  6. Thai griled beef lettuce wraps. The marinade is brilliant - lots of tamarind, lime, etc. I made Nuoc Cham and will serve with julienned carrots and vermicelli. The other day I made Caribbean spicy shrimp with pasta. Am loving coking from so many cultures and ethnic groups.

It's been too hot to do serious cooking so last night I made Thai lettuce wraps with grilled (and brined) shrimp, homemade sambal olek and nuoc cham, shredded carrot, cucumber, vermicelli noodles.   19. Addy, am not forgetting to post ketchup recipes for you. Am finding this heat debilitating. All I do is a struggle. It is 40C or 104F (with humidex). Feeding Bingley ice cubes and keeping myself hydrated. How do people cope with this? It is dreadful and we have no A/C.

  23. Too hot to cook inside. I almost wish there was still some snow left to roll around in! Since there isn't, we are grilling: Juiper-Brined Pork Tenderloin with Spicy Apple Glaze and Apple Chips Baked then Mashed Mango Whisky Sweet Potatoes Apple Cider Vinegar et. al. Slaw Blueberries (aren't grilling those tiny suckers!)
