actually, five guys offers a gluten free burger but I think they're still wrapping them in lettuce. which is OKAY but I love red robin because they have gluten-free buns. I buy extra buns when I eat there so I can make sandwiches at home. my local rr is good and safe, but use the 'find me gluten free' app to see what sort of reviews your local restaurants...

Shared Kitchens: How do you label your kitchenware?
notme replied to Pepper88's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
my kitchen is 99% gluten free. I keep spaghettios and some gluten snacks for the kids, lunchables, etc. but the gluten-free is enforced - wash your hands after you eat gluten!! husband has regular rye bread, but we make his sammiches for lunch together and he touches the bread and I throw lunch meat at it ha ha all my cookware is stainless except... -

How Soon After Gluten Do You React?
notme replied to Luvbeingamommy's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
same! some places I eat at all the time, I don't feel anxious about. if I feel any sort of doubt I can get a safe meal when i'm out at a strange place, I will eat at home first. recently on a trip to jersey, everybody wanted to eat at a place I wasn't familiar with and it wasn't on the find me gluten free app. so, I ate ahead of time. went to the place... -

Diamine oxidase deficiency in untreated celiac patients
notme replied to Iiv's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
you can take h1 & h2 twice a day, or not. I tried (zyrtek/ranitidine <I use zantac 75 but I break it into lower doses) doing this but it didn't make any difference, better or worse. you can also try 2 different antihistamines. some people use ketotifen..... I do not. I tried it but didn't make anything different, so.... my daughter and my... -
Diamine oxidase deficiency in untreated celiac patients
notme replied to Iiv's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
liv - that is pretty awful i THINK I have a mild case of mast cell activation syndrome/disorder BUT getting a doctor to even look at the research is nearly impossible. I have been flying blind and self medicating and it's been working. I had to experiment with different h1 & h2 otc meds and when to take them (I take them at night) then Flonase ... -
lolz - the wedding thing - for reals! my daughter and I both have celiac. we were at my niece's wedding and I KNOW the food people were properly questioned but they forgot to tell the servers which dishes were safe to eat and which were not. I ended up educating one of the wait staff (crash course and she also went one step further and googled celiac lolz...

Diamine oxidase deficiency in untreated celiac patients
notme replied to Iiv's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
many of these things could clear up on a gluten-free diet and can be attributed to untreated celiac - give it a try, maybe cut your current symptoms in half? -
Diamine oxidase deficiency in untreated celiac patients
notme replied to Iiv's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
whoops! slam on the brakes! you are an untreated celiac? that's KIND OF A THING. (that I completely missed, thank you cyclinglady) you need to eat strictly gluten free to even begin to unravel your issues. - it's like: step one they may resolve themselves once you are eating to heal yourself. lolz, food journal too hard? use the app... -
Diamine oxidase deficiency in untreated celiac patients
notme replied to Iiv's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
*puts on waders* how about something fairly simple? try keeping a food journal, and see what food combinations are making you feel bad. then, either eliminate them (which I did for awhile, then added them back, but not combined with any other suspect foods) or rotate them in your diet. I do about a 3 day rotation and it seems to keep the histamine... -
I have a friend who is struggling with the diet. I have watched her for many years go from doctor to doctor and being diagnosed with just everything you can think of <but all symptoms of celiac) doctors agree that it is autoimmune and that she should be eating gluten free - strictly. it's hard to imagine how great you're going to feel once your...

Arm pit lymph nodes
notme replied to designerstubble's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
good to see you! glad you are doing well. I don't know the answers to your questions, but coincidentally, my kid just texted me that they found a lump on her nodes. so, they are sending her for a bunch of tests. today. i'll let you know and we'll compare notes? she just had a baby, so her autoimmune might have been triggered edited to correct... -
lolz, i'm not dying in real life. i'm almost back to my normal weight - took me this long I suspect because my kid that triggered the gene was 25 (hence 25 years worth of gut damage) and I guess it probably took longer to heal than someone who had not been suffering with it for that long. like you, I was active and healthy before such onset. your mom...

Timeline of recovery
notme replied to Patremagne's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
you might try to keep a food journal to see what you are having problems specifically with. when I first started, I could only eat cooked vegetables for example. I had problems with soy and nightshades as well. as my guts started to heal, I was able to add most foods (except gluten!) back into my diet. also, your gut flora is probably in not great shape... -
this is a very old thread, so it may contain very old information. yes, boar's head is gluten free. I think alllllllll of their products are gluten-free. sara lee baked products? I would say noooooooo way, but, ya know, read ya label. borden cheese: read your label. most cheese is gluten-free, even the pre-shredded. no, the cellulose powder...

ok, step one: breathe!! you're going to be ok. you sound like many of us who have been failed by the medical community. so, you're not crazy. these people just don't have celiac on their radar and they just don't care to skip treating all your symptoms ($$$) which will go away if you are celiac and stick to the gluten free diet. no, casein does not...

New symptom: dermatitis herpetaformis rash
notme replied to Shannon mackay's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
your body's reaction to gluten may change as time goes by/as you heal. have you not had dh as a reaction before now? no, corn is not gluten, although you could have a sensitivity to corn or even an allergy to it. I guess you could get gluten contaminated corn, as well...… maybe you changed your fabric softener or got into some poison ivy or got a... -
Are Dill Pickles Safe To Eat?
notme replied to sillyyak's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
this is a really old thread, although it has been resurrected several times! lolz - I eat pickles, I eat claussen pickles - I like it when the label says 'white wine vinegar' or 'cider vinegar' or 'distilled vinegar' or better yet, as kosher pickles should be: cured with kosher salt...… but even the plain old 'vinegar' is supposed to be deemed safe. ... -
i noticed that I would eat something one day and it would digest well, no issues. so, safe, right? ate it the next day and my guts were like: nope. I already had histamine buildup on my 'oh, I might hafta watch out for that' radar. so, for sh*ts n giggles, I started to experiment. if I skip two days before I eat the same thing again, it is ideal. I...

ana is nothing to fool with, ennis - do you have an epi pen? I am religious with my meds and I also experimented which to take in the morning and which to take at night. I was doing h-1 morning and night, but I only need it at night, so I cut it back, for example. annnnnnnd, gross, lolz - just puke on one of those pool testing strips. easy, peasy...

after the e.r. trip and follow up with my g.i., (ct scan at hospital) docs have determined that I have spasms. everything squinches up and doesn't allow anything to pass, even gas <which is painful !) it will also make me nauseas and I can't eat anything. they gave me dicyclomine and it works great - it's an anti-spasm drug (but I can't take it all...
