just give him a second. you'll be advised in another 12 page post what to take otherwise...…… wisegeek, really??? lolz I take both h-1 and h-2 blockers. and a couple of other histamine controlling things as I think I have mild mcas. I have mentioned this to every doctor I've been to see and none of them have any interest or knowledge of ...

Is Endoscopy Necessary?
notme replied to Olivia28's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
amen to that! my brother finally got tired of the emergency room with doctors scratching their heads. he is declared celiac and strictly gluten free. he feels better than he has in years! thank goodness. also, my daughter with her 'quivering insides, mama' has finally bit the bullet and is also strictly gluten-free. I went to her doctor's appointment... -
Is Endoscopy Necessary?
notme replied to Olivia28's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
( hi, gem! ? I was wondering whereyat! ) olivia, a solid diagnosis is like the holy grail of this disease. if it takes a scope, do it. it's not painful, at least it isn't for most. my doc warned me I might have a sore throat afterwards, but I came home and ate a turkey sammich. getting a endoscopy will also hopefully rule out other conditions... -
I have a Cuisinart one, too. they must be different bc on mine, the gluten-free button is #9 lolz. it has an alarm to indicate when to take out the paddle (I think it's pre-rise) I use it to make 'pumpernickel' and I sub in coconut flour and almond flour for extra protein. I want to try yeast pizza dough next. but, I can make banana bread and fruit and...

I bring my own bread up to the altar with me and my pastor blesses it as 'the body of Christ, given for you' - then they have little glasses of juice/wine. the pastor we have now has a son diagnosed with crohns, so he understands special needs diets. but even our previous pastors were ok with it. it's symbolic - we're not *really* drinking wine, anyway...

Test results
notme replied to Wannafeelbetter's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
the dgp is a more reliable test I think. whyyyyy would they even retest you. I swear, they want to make the $$ from treating your symptoms from undiagnosed celiac. I would stick with your gluten free diet, as you feel better! <your body's response to the gluten-free diet is a diagnostic criteria, something your primary should know. they also should... -

lolz - same! the ultrasound didn't even show the cyst on my kidney that the ct guy said I had. lolz, they take my blood and tell me horror stories. then, nothing is wrong. oh, news flash - I have celiac. nothing is 'normal' - but everything is normal? blah. I feel great. my poor husband - they have had me dead and buried so many times. he buys me... -
Still have symptoms, related to something else?

I didn't ask for help. I feel great and I have my oil checked about every 3 months. I don't have any psychiatric problems that I am aware of. all my thyroid numbers are fine and I am aware that as a woman post menopause with an already existing autoimmune disease, I am expecting to keep an eye on my thyroid. my vitamins levels get checked every doctor... -
Meal bars for emergencies
notme replied to healthysquirrel's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I make my own. you can just use a sheet pan or 13x9 and cut into bars. (my cousin was having a pampered chef party so I bought a shmancy silicone mold that makes, I think, a dozen at a time but you don't need anything fancy, just make sure you use parchment paper and sometimes you gotta grease the daylights out of it depending on how sticky you make them... -

posterboy:. she got that disgusting yellow kill-all medicine when she had the thrush. it is long gone, and I do not expect it to return now that she is eating gluten free. her immune system should be up and running like a champ! when you have celiac disease, your whole body is at risk of catching everything or developing some weird a$$ disease... -

thanx for the recipe! I gotta wait for my cukes to grow, now... we make our own sauerkraut - super easy and delicious. and you get that extra probiotic boost from lactofermentation. also, cheap is my middle name your story: same ha ha that's how I got my screen name. surely, notme! I went through another few months of denial before I... -

heyyyy, wheatwacked, could I trouble you for your half sour pickle recipe? I have been trying different ones trying to get the right taste! I was very deficient in many vitamins and minerals when I was first diagnosed. so, I supplemented, but I still continued to be deficient. I was down to b12 and D - now, poof. I am good without supplements. had... -
I have just come off two weeks of traveling - had to fly to nj for a wedding, had to drive to fl for the birth of a grandkid - flying is more of a pain than driving is lolz - I had to check a bag bc I was bringing sandwiches/food and you can't go through security with it. after I checked it, we just 'foraged' after going through security. I was surprised...

I just recently went through these questions with my daughter - we have suspected celiac for her for awhile. she went and got tested: all negative. I told her if her guts felt better off the gluten, she really doesn't need a dx to follow the gluten-free diet. she did, mostly, then she would cheat. throughout this whole period, she was fatigued, had... -
can we make a good gluten-free pizza crust?
notme replied to Lisak's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
when i went to order it on ama zon dot com, the ingredients are listed. first one is gluten free wheat starch. i'm sure some people will use it and be ok with it. i'm just a bit leery of wheat. -
i use xanax for my anxiety - i can not and do not take the dosage on the bottle - i would be asleep all the time lolz - i just break off a little piece at a time, just to calm the jumpy guts. there is a very real connection between your gut and your brain. as for the isolation issue: until you are somewhere away from your comfort zone and have a 'bathroom...

it smoothes the angry gut but it will not stop damage if one consumes gluten. celiac doesn't 'go' - but if it makes the symptoms manageable, sounds good to me. the 'regular' kind of cannabis makes me have an appetite, therefore very useful as i am underweight. if it's helping your friend to be comfortable, gut-wise, that's wonderful. different things...

that could be from you being underweight? many women have reproductive issues and symptoms including missing periods and miscarriages (sadly, i had one long before i ever heard of celiac) also, hormones will 'fake' a glutening, so pay attention to when your period would come even if it doesn't. it may mimic a glutening (mine used to, even after i hit...

here is a pretty good link - some of the info is old, but you'll get the basic ideas. no kissing without brushing!! soap and water, not hand sanitizer!! also, you can hand wash your dishes or use the dishwasher - so long as your dishes are clean, lolz keep that food journal - lay off dairy for awhile as if your villi are damaged, you will have...
-
just curious about the ibuprofen - any that i have used is gluten free. i have been told it contains iodine which may irritate your dh if you have that lovely celiac symptom. try keeping a food journal - watch out for hidden gluten like barley malt or 'regular' soy sauce, which is made of wheat, etc... read all labels - lay off eating out for awhile...

your friend should definitely see a doctor. period. that amount of pain = he/she needs to rule out things that others have suggested. diverticulosis <sp) is the 'diverts' that exist and will get seeds and stuff stuck in the holes then get infected. my brother has this and the doctor gives antibiotics (which wrecks his gut flora)- less, though, since...

my daughter just got dx'd with celiac, and she's been hypoglycemic for years. once her guts start absorbing vitamins and minerals, i expect this will also clear up. it's amazing, isn't it? doctors can't give you all the details, because most of them don't know them

Bacteria (not Sugar) are Rotting your Teeth

any sort of artificial sweetener makes me crazy - like, irritable, restless, jumping out of my skin crazy. idk why (and i don't want to know lolz that's just my personal experience) also, food coloring. again, i do not want to know the specific speculation, that's just how i am affected and i am sure i'm not alone. the longer i am gluten free, i have... -
