Are you suggesting a mortar and pestle because I can't be trusted with a stick blender? LOL I do have a m&p, a good yard sale find for $3. Hope to see your salad dressing recipes posted soon. So, last night we had barbequed skinless chicken thighs that had marinated all day in homemade memphis style BBQ sauce, roasted sweet potatoes amd... -

Grilled skinless chicken thighs that I marinated overnight in Memphis style (safe homemade and tangy/spicy) BBQ sauce, grilled sweet taters, salad. Fresh sweet cherries for dessert. Yum. -

OOH. I haven't had single malt in years. Over a decade. Tonight we ate like peasants, and it was really good. I made potato pancakes and homade chicken soup. We had salad later, and I made a bomb dressing with chopped fresh herbs, leftover hummus, left-over balsalmic vinagrette, grated cucumber and coarse mustard. I stuck my immersion blender... -

Sounds great! We had cuban beef stew over brown basatmi rice cooked with a pinch of saffron. Tried a new recipe. It called for chuck steaks, chopped tomatoes, beef broth, fresh red pepper, onion, carrots, garlic, green olives and capers. It was good, but I think it will be superb tomorrow. (Guess I did a nightshades challenge test too... -

Dinner tonight was grilled marinated Tilapia with mango salsa & black and small red beans (that's what the bag said) over leftover rice. I didn't have the foresight to pre-soak the beans, but they took less than 1/2 hour to cook in the pressure cooker. Because I forgot to pack the chicken for lunch yesterday, I took it today. OMG! Cold... -

LOL, Sylvia! I've wished you could just take a food pill, never thought of a 30 lb. bag of human food! Bearing that in mind, I wasn't in the mood to cook tonight. This is wierd, but it worked. Grilled chicken breasts with Indian Tandori rub, white rice, and the left over navy bean soup I cooked this weekend. Had the soup over the rice, which sounds... -

We had shrimp fried rice tonight. First time in a very long time (since I cut out soy). I used about 1 1/2 T Coconut Aminos, (from Whole Foods or another health food store), added about 1/2 tsp salt, juice from a lime, a dash of fish sauce & mixed that in a little ramekin for the "unsoy" sauce. It was great! Veggies: onion, garlic, celery, carrots... -
Pondy, I'm so sorry you're going through this! Six days is alarming, I hope you are okay. Even though I know you've tried everything, and despite other posts, have you heated 2-4 oz prune juice, then followed it with 2 T. heated honey? I'm worried that you could have a bowel obstruction if you've gone so long without having a bowel movement, and...

I wonder how we would start a petition to get love2travel on the food network, or in the food section of our local newspapers. Hmmm. Tonight we had roast beef and mashed Yukon gold taters with onion gravy and a salad of baby lettuce from the garden with mustard viniagrette. And I think I ruined my PC. I was cleaning that little valve with a toothpick... -

Ooh, I never thought of mashing butternut squash with rutabaga! Yum. I bet that's good! Thanks for sharing. -

Tamatari Jhinga over brown rice! Received a new cook book as a gift, and I highly recommend it: "New Indian Home Cooking". It's by a registered dietician, and great, if you like Indian Foods. (It's not gluten-free, but many recipes are, or easily adaptable.) To translate, we had shrimp with a spicy/sweet tomato & onion sauce. It was good... -
Even though my gastro said that I shouldn't put myself through skin prick testing about 8 months after going gluten-free, something was still bugging me. Egg yolks were a 3. Whites were neutral. I'd suspected that eggs were causing a problem, had read that most people who are allergic to eggs are allergic to the whites, so I'd bed eating only egg yoks...

We had an early St. Patrick's day meal because a vegatarian is going to be a houseguest on the 17th. We had corned beef and cabbage, carrots, taters and onion. It's the first time I've pressure cooked it ... and the Irish Boyfriend gave the meal an "A +" Now I'm trying to think of a good meal for St. Pattie's with the vegetarian. (She's Irish too.)... -

Sylvia, thanks for reminding me. Because the grill master isn't gluten-free, sometimes he's a pain, but worth keeping. I didn't eat much tonight. I accidently had some soy today. That twists me up. -

I'm intrigued with the fish pie...would love details... Tonight we had fish filets, marinated in fresh herbs, lemon juice and olive oil and minced green onion/serranno pepper, wrapped in parchment paper and grilled, along with grilled new potatoes and summer squash. I just add chopped onion or chopped green onion to the taters and drizzle olive oil... -

Ya'll are making me jealous! Yumm! Tonight we had grilled pork steaks that I marinated in orange juice & s&p with brown rice, stamed swiss chard and roasted mushrooms and a little bit of fresh pineapple. And one small piece of dark chocolate for dessert. Not bad. -

Walleye Pike wrapped in banana leaves (and aluminum foil) that marinated with thai fish sauce, chopped garlic, lemon grass, (could sub any citrus), spring onions and serrano peppers, then grilled. Had that with white taters for dbf, sweet tater for me, and some fresh steamed green beans. Yum. Had a piece of dark chocolate for dessert. Put some yummy... -

We had Tandori chicken (grilled dry rubbed skinless chicken thighs) with roasted new potatoes (cut in chunks, mixed with s&p, olive oil and chopped spring onions, then wrapped in aluminum oil & grilled) with fresh green beans. I've been on an Indian cuisine kick lately. Everything tastes so good and makes me feel good. -

I lucked out tonight! I took my neighbor half a melon, about half a lb. of fresh green beens and some lovely Italian ham. She sent me home with chicken chili, two avacados and mango chutney. She's one of the people on a very short list who I trust to cook for me. The chili has peppers, onion, chicken, celery, two kinds of beeans, tomatoes and cinnamin...
