  1. True and men are like buses, another will be along.

BUSES - Some are old, some are smelly, some are dirty, some are noisy and make a lot of noise (for no-good reason), they stop and pick up anything along the way and some need fixing! Why wait for a bus, you deserve to be riding in a LIMO and adored like a queen.

Well -- my life is about me right now, the guys can wait. If they're still around when I've got the time for them, then I might need more advice -- you've given me so much that's been useful already!

Frankly, I may even be outgrowing the need for advice as I get healthier! I find that listening to myself is the best advice I can get. My therapist seems to be getting ready to kick me out.

You are very smart and beautiful woman, you have a good head and deserve the very best.

"Pretty darn well..." Excuse me, but I think you deserve more than pretty darn well! You deserve to have someone adore you, and realize that you are the greatest thing for him since sliced bread! (Annalise Roberts' gluten-free recipe, of course!)

    I'm serious.

Something a wise elderly person told me one day.

People come into our lives for a REASON, SEASON or LIFETIME.

Keep that big beautiful smile on your face. Don't let any [man] take it away.

  2. It contain nitrogen-fixing bacteria

    sounds like poison to me

I'm intolerant to the casein and goats milk also has casein.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I'm a little suprised my doc recomended GOATS MILK. As a infant I couldn't drink cows milk but I could drink goats milk. I wonder why? And the book 'Dangerous Grains' says people who can't tollerate dairy can drink goats milk, it has a different makeup.

I also found something else. This lady is very helpful and I have read her book.

  3. RKB_MD -- Welcome Dr. Russ!

I have been doing research for a celiac disease project and some of it has to do with banana babies. My late-Auntie that died on a feeding tube was a banana baby and my grandfather has bananas shipped. I have just come across a tiny hammer from the 1800's he used to open the banana crates.

In the historical newspapers I've been able to complie some useful old information to share. It is linked to my blogg but it started from a post here. It is still a work in progress...

Thanks for joining our group we are so happy you are here.

  4. I just sent an email.

I invited them to visit our forum to get their facts straight and see what some of our real issues are. Like the fact mainstream drugs, and beauty supplies have gluten they don't tell us about. And how we are demanding change. How soy is in everything we can NOT avoid. And how the word gluten doesn't mean just wheat.

Please write to them and fill their mail box. They need to hear from all of us.

  5. Send a letter to the editor (or whatever it is for a website) so that they can correct this info.

    Wonderful idea!

This is the link to their site to write. If ALL of us that read this tread type a few words of what we think we might have a voice they will hear.

  6. What is up with all the talk about parasites lately. It seems to be all the hype. Has anyone here actually done a "cleanse" for them or been tested for them? Was anyone's test positive? WHere do they get their information and is it accurate?

I believe that alot of people do have parasites.

......I did try one back when I was trying to self-diagnose and *something* did come out the very next day. Dont know what it was though. It very well could have been a parasite but I have no idea and it never happened again.

    .......I did have a c-diff infection though.

....... My doctors use antibiotics that are specific for whatever infection you have...they dont treat anything that doesnt show up in a test.

I hope I didn't cut up the quotes too much.

Rachel -- I alway learn from you. You help me more then you know (((HUGS))) When you wrote about c-diff what is that? I know when I took antibiotices for my root canal I really felt a world better. Can we have an infection in out gut causing it?

I was wondering about parasites too.

I was tested last week and waiting for the results. I really want to have parasites  and not celiac disease. :o I can explain how I got parasites, if I do in fact have it. Hurricanes 4, in 2 years, and our water source was contaminated. I also have a little doggie that has them really bad just found out when getting his health cert to fly.

Oh, and I read that parasites are more active durning a full moon. The last few night (full moon) as I was falling asleep my tummy makes noises like there is a dragon inside screaming "Feed me I'm hungry!"

Has anyone else here had them?

  7. I just went gluten free Friday afternoon after the blood was drawn for my blood tests. And the food labels are freaking me out! lol

Do you trust the food labels when they list allergens other than wheat to be gluten free? I've found a doy sauce with soy as an allergen, but not wheat. All the others I looked at had both listed.

Am I taking a chance trusting the labels? Or do I need to investigate more in case of cross contamination?

I also am having a debate through a friend with her niece. She says caramel coloring, modified food starch, and methodextrose (?) are all off limits. I say if manufactured in the US they are safe.

Yes, they are all off limits. Carmel color, modified food starch, natural flavoring, artifical flavoring, are bad in the USA. Don't trust the food companies they lie. They won't tell you about CC unless you ask if the product was made on the same line as others with gluten. Be safe - go basic.

There are several great threads others started here that give more detailed description of what is in a products ingredients. I'll try to find them and link them here.

If you have issue with SOY like many of us do here, it is in everything, from tuna to chocolate bars and so hard to avoid. They call it things like vegetable broth, or lecithin to confuse the consumer. We almost need a little dictionary of ingredients to follow when shopping.

  8. jknnej -- How are you doing?

I have been trying to follow this thread don't mind my brain-fog. Did you have the genetic test?

The new dotors(s) I am seeing mentioned the genitic test for me. I had the eTG test done and I'm waiting for the results. I should know somehing this week. But I've been gluten & dairy free for almost 6-years, with secondary food allergies.

And for those in the KNOW...

Can you have a wheat allergy and not be a Celiac? And how can that be?

It's all very connfusing, and a lot of grey-areas...
