  1. I give myself B-12 Shots with Folic Acid every week. It's no big deal. I was due yesterday and forgot. Thanks for the reminder.

The shots help a lot. The twitching feeling in my face stopped along with other things. My STOOLS look normal (the next day), formed, brown and very normal. I have more energy and feel better all around.

There is another thing that helps -- when I went to the allergy doc they added something elese to the shot called panathanic acid. I thing I spelled it wrong. Mainstream docs don't prescribe it...

When I go to the doc the shots are $45 -$50 each week. If I give them to myself it's $5 for a months supply and the needles are another $2.

  2. You could try colon hydrotherapy, where they flush your colon with water. You must go to a certified therapist for safety reasons. Personally I believe that we have massive amount of waste stuck in us. Just because you are pooping, doesn't mean you don't have things stuck. Look at your poops. If they are long wide and large you are passing could stools. If for example they are thin or small little ones then this could be because you have blockage to your colon. I am not saying that all cleanses will work for all people, but I do not believe that cleansing is a bunch of crap. No more a bunch of crap than all the horrendous drugs doctors have people on. Do lots of research!

loraleena -- A lot of truth in what you said.

I just finished a book titled:

I Was Poisoned By My Body: The Odyssey of a Doctor Who Reversed Fibromyalgia, Leaky Gut Syndrome, and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity - Naturally!

    (Paperback)

    by Gloria, Ph.D. Gilbere

    Open Original Shared Link

She believes in colon hydrotherapy hycolonics, enemas and goes into details about it in the book. And goes into parasites too.

As I posted on another thread I'm not sure her treatments are for all of us here. My system is too hyper-sensitive at this stage of celiac disease but the rotation diet she writes about has been working for me.

  3. I often wonder about cross contamination in the dishwasher when I see food particles at the bottom tray.

I wonder if I'm breathing in airborn particles when I'm pouring the dogs dry dog food into the bowl? I can smell it.

I wonder about the big drug companies lying to us about the dyes they use to color the pills that are all cross contaminated with gluten. But they don't tell us that fact, unless we know enough to ask.

I wonder if kissing and having sex we are being cross contaminated?

  4. Hi!

I just finsihed reading a book titled

"I Was Poisoned By My Body: The Odyssey Of A Doctor Who Reversed Fibromyalgia, Leaky Gut Syndrome, And Multiple Chemical Sensitivity - Naturally!" Open Original Shared Link worth reading. She believes enviomental triggers can be a factor with celiac disease.

Now as I look back buildings and smells triggered it for me too.

I was effected by not knowing bread was in the oven one night when my 85 year old daddyO yelled "...somethings burning!' I grabbed the oven door and flung it open to get a blast of gluten - italian garlic bread cooking with my dinner. Oh God no how could you?! Flipped out (inside thinking) I wondered will airborn particles make me sick? -- It triggered a headache and weak knees for an hour, in time it passed. I can't touch gluten, even if I wash my hands.

chick2ba -- Have you checked the water in your apartment? Don't drink the water, and, don't wash the food you are eating with it either.

Something that has helped me is DISTILLED WATER ONLY. A couple things I learned, spring water and botttled drinking water purification process is different. Distilled water's PH is the best for our bodies, and the spring water might have minerals your body doesn't always need. I have found a big improvement since I have switched. You might have to spend a few pennies more and not always find it in stock, but it's better for us with digestive problems.

chick2ba -- You are not crazy! Have you read this book yet?

  5. We've got to get him on our board.....you know, in all his free time.....

Oh Iwrote an email to Oprah today about Celiac and how aghast I am that she has not addressed it....wonder how many of us have emailed her??

YOU WOULD BE SUPRISED HOW MANY DOCTORS AND OTHERS ARE ON THIS SITE, lurking and looming posting ANONYMOUSLY.

    FORGET OPRAH she's useless!

    Hi Dingogirl:

I don't know what's up with Oprah, we went on a letter writing campaign last year and she never responded.

Many of us worked very hard tring to get Oprah on our side. I'm no longer a fan. We can make a big impact in other ways.

I think it's good news this comcast guy has celiac disease. Welcome to our world!

  6. I'm leaving in a few days to go to Boston / Havard to see a specialist in celiac disease. Before I go, I'm going to have my blood drawn and this time I'm going to have them test my T3 along with the thyroid panel they do. I have kept a chart of levels.

I also wonder if it has something to do with T4 converting to T3??? I don't know that difference in FREE T3 or FREE 4 ???

I will say this - alternating my doseage of medication has helped with my symptons. 75 mcg - 88 mcg - 75 mcg and so on.

munchkinette -- Yes, I have noticce that the number range are different if I go to the lab, or dr's office... I wish they would get it right... And the other thing one of my doc's brought up (my neurogist). The time of day you have the test done has something to the results. Like if you took your medication 12 hours before or 2 hour before... follow me?

jennifervan -- I looked up what was in those rice products you are eating. They don't list their ingredients. But say they are free of the deadly 8 allergens.

I know that after several years gluten and dairy free, around the time the hyper-nodule came about I was no longer able to eat, legume = soy, corn, potatos, rice, and night shade veggies. I since removed them from my diet and body from everything - my mouthwash, toothpaste, hair shampoo, make up, to the soap I wash my body with. You have no idea how hard it is to find a body soap that doesn't contain coconut or soy. Both effect the thyroid. Anyway, what I'm getting at - is - you might have a problem with a secondary food intolerance and not know it. Maybe it's rice? Or corn? Or the soy? Soy is hidden in almost everything. And they can call it natural flavoring, or etc. I have been working very hard at the rotation diet. I will say this, it is helping, slowly, but it is helping.

Lymetoo -- You are right about the carrots. They are also on my 3 day rotation now.

I have been able to eat, small amounts of rice and potato skins on my rotation of 5 days out...

Keep a food/body journal. I do. It is amazing what you learn.

  7. Soy for me caused many more problems then I prepared myself for 5 or 6 years ago when I went G&D FREE.

Visit my blogg (rightside) link has info about how bad soy is. There are people that are in denial about the dangers of soy, and plenty of threads here pro and con. But always remember SOY is listed in the 8 deadly allergens.

No -one tells you or prepares you about the secondary food intolerance/allergies that crop up as time passes living with celiac disease. You may think that going G&D FREE you will be healthy. For many of us it's NOT enough. I leaned the hard way that most of us have more then a gluten problem... and there are more things needed to avoid as well.

One last thing -- look into goats milk it doesn't break down like cows milk, or soy does.

  8. My thyroid was tested and it was borderline "HYPO" a couple of weeks later it was retested and it was "NORMALl" so they did not want to treat it.

BUT MY BLOOD WORK APPEARS I AM "HYPER" thyroid now??????

...next week I am scheduled for a thyroid scan.

Any thoughts??? I really need some help.

    Jennifer

In my case I grew a HOT NODUEL on my hyper-thyroid after being gluten-free & DF.

I had the scan they confirmed I had a noduel, then swallowed a radioactive pill -- RAI treatment. Oh - I've never been the same. -- If I had it to do it all over again? I don't know I had any [other] choice?! oR is there one?

In retrospect I believe SOY caused me to grow that thing, as time passed it caused me to develop the secondary food allergies to legumes and night shade veggies. I was gluten-free & DF about 5 years and thought this was easy. Then I discovered soy was a huge issue. Now, I find it interesting my thyroid medication (I'll end up taking for the rest of my life) the package inserts say do NOT comsume soy when taking this RX. I know why. Remember soy is one of the deadly 8 allergens.

How strick is your diet? Do you keep a food journal?

Have you developed secondary food intolerances yet?

  9. Fiddle-Faddle -- I like the way you think. You are so right!

I had coffee with some elderly friends (82-87) the other day. One has an HMO the other had real insurance. They said something about the HMO doctor wouldn't refer the patient, cause it costs the doc money out of an account the HMO has set up for the doc. So the person on the HMo got sicker and sicker cause the doc said nothing is wrong. So he's making $$$, and the patient will end up dead.

I think, some of the docs on real insurance plans get $$$ for scoping both ends if they have an interest in the colonoscopy biz. I watched them go through that place like an assembly line.

Well, I have decided my next hubby is going to be a gastroenterologist. I caught the bouquet at a wedding not long ago, and have one on the hook... Ha! For all celiac's in the world, I promise you I will torture him and his buddies about celiac disease and all these food issues. Can't wait to go to the dinner parties with all the colleagues and their wives. He has no idea what he's in store for with me. [giggle] He doesn't get it either. Only a few really get it. He will after he sees my one seizure episodes on the bathroom floor, loosing control. Sounds like a fun honeymoon?!
