  1. chgomom -- WELCOME! WE all care about your well being. You will get healthier here... stay tuned in and post all your questions... you will get the help you need here. {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}

As you can see in my profile... my gastro guy refused to biosopy me with the colonoscopy, because he doesn't believe in celiac disease. He said I had a spastic colon. When I questioned him WHY, he left the office. My daddyO was with me, and said, "You pissed him off!" I have added his name to a NO GO list of doctors I have created on my blogg, anyone want to add to it, just email me their names.

I went on a gluten-free & DF diet and got better. But I must warn you, something no one told me... along with celiac disease comes other food intolerence, like SOY, CORN, NUTS, DAIRY, and etc. You might want to keep a food journal, I do. It helps you understand what you are reactive too. I use one...

Get the book that will help save your life. Open Original Shared Link if you can't afford to buy it order it though a loan from your local library. YOU MUST READ this book, it will save your life. You will understand why....

  2. schuyler -- I'm so sorry you had to go through this. We all do... It's part of celiac disease.

That person that put the ccokie in your mouth, needed a good slap! Italian-Style! No really, did you have a reaction to the crumbs?

Invite the people/ your mother/ family members into the bathroom and show them what is inside the toilet. Let them see and smell steatorrhea diarrhea or what you are actually experiencing.

Hand out a copy of the book DANGEROUS GRAINS to your family members. Give them out as gift, Birthday, Mothers day, Fathers day, Bosses day, Xmas, or whatever. If they seem disapointed in your gift. Too bad! Let them know how disappointed you are in having to live with celiac disease and their LACK OF COMPASSIONATE LOVE FOR U! It will open their eyes if they open the pages and read.

Better yet, do like I do, have a seizure in front of them.

I wish I saved the thread, but I think it was KaitieUSA that told a story once how her girlfriends ordered pizza when they knew she is a Celiac. She sprinkled DRANO on her piece of pizza and said something like, "This is what it does to me!" I wish she would tell the story again, because it really made an impact on others.

  3. Tangerine -- Yes, it took me a couple hours to read, but well worth the time. Once you get past his old web site and click on the new links the site becomes more user friendly. And you are right - AMAZING! More people should read it. I'm also interested in the aspect with dogs & cats getting celiac disease. It all goes back to grains like wheat, soy and corn were not ment to eat by humans, or animals. Period.

Reading the article made me think back to grade school. I was punished for speaking up and stating my mind. One time was when the teacher was telling us story about how the Pilgrims traded seeds (that were edible) with the Indians. I said to the teacher, "If they were edible then, why would we eat them now?" I questioned authority and was told to sit down and shut up. And, I did. Not anymore! But I always wondered why... Why? Why we stole the land from the Indians? And got away with it, or did we? And why we ate edible seeds? As I have learn (too much) about life and about celiac disease I know now why...

The article goes into many of the issues in the book DANGEROUS GRAINS. And, for me, it helped me make up my mind about animals and their food consumed too.

    Thanx again Tangerine!

  4. WELCOME DAN! This is a wonderful place to get help. There are a lot of loving helpful people here. You are in the right place.

Find out what else you are intolerant of, get tested. and then avoid them, but ROTATING your diet is a big important step so you will not develop (so fast) secondary food intolerance/allergies. You see [we all do] as time passes.

And the tests all become expensive when you do all of them like parasites and candida testing too. But if only for a piece of mind important to rule out.

READ the book "DANGEROUS GRAINS" It will save your life! If you can find one in the book store, call your local library they will borrow it through an inter library loan. Just call and ask. Open Original Shared Link

Ensure is a no no , it has SOY in it. Soy is very very bad for us with celiac disease. There are people in denial, don't be one of them, it will cause you your health as time passes. SOY - It is in the deadly 8 allergens -dairy, corn, soy, wheat, peanuts... There is a reason, they are bad for us with little value. Try other nuts instead of peanuts.

This is a great place to find help.

All of us are differenet. I have found that alternative treatments help. I see my chiropractor 2 times a week. I'm also looking into acupuncture. But what has worked for me, I don't skip meals. I eat a large (dinner type) meal in the morning, and lunch time, but not a huge meal at night. I keep a food journal to keep track of everything that goes in and OUT of my body. It will help you understand and retace when you have become reactive to something and don't know why. I know it sounds like a lot a work; but worth every minute.

    Be well!

  5. I honestly think that when you're first diagnosed with celiac disease, it can seem very difficult. There is a huge learning curve and it takes a long time to figure out which foods work best for you. However, once you figure it all out, I think it's a great disease to have.

It honestly took me a couple years to feel comfortable knowing what I can and can't eat. Don't get too discouraged if it still seems hard.

Yes, to the learning curve, and a couple of years.

But, no to a' great disease to have' -- when you get seizures...

  6. I'm still having digestive problems... after being gluten free for over a year. I was actually a lot better for a few months. Then, WHAM, i have a bunch of new intolerances (I'm discovering).

Tangerine -- Thank you for posting that article it looks interesting.

If you haven't read DANGEROUS GRAINS it's a must read you will understand why you are developing secondary food issues. It will happen to all of us as time passes, doctors are now finding this to be true.

It happened to me to, gluten free & dairy free about 5-years and WHAM BAM I got sicker with major thyroid problems. Mine (food allergies) have developed into seizure. Many of us celiacs have problems with SOY, CORN, LEGUMES, and NIGHT SHADE VEGGIES (some people are in denial). I avoided them but ate the safe foods all the time. The book DANGEROUSE GAINS and another was the PALEO DIET they recommed to rotate your food so you do NOT get allergies to it. As they suggested -- I found the ROTATION DIET is very helpful from stopping these other food issues from getting worse.

  7. Imodium liquid had gluten in it. I just found that out after each time I took it I broke out in a DH like rash of celiac on my torso under my breast and across my upper and mid back.

Do you keep a food journal? You know write down every thing that goes in your mouth. And before you do you've read the label and know what each ingredient is...? It will help alot.

What were you eating around the time or before you began noticing the rash?

I am wondering what dermatitis hepedaformus (sorry I cant spel  ) Looks like
