  1. Standing with the Man on the Silver Mountain

  2. I used to be morbidly obese and am now half the man, literally, that I used to be. Gluten free and low carb works for me but you mileage may vary. It can be done.
  3. Buckwheat is not a grain and has a low glycemic index. Buckwheat refers to plants in two genera of the dicot family Polygonaceae: the Eurasian genus Fagopyrum, and the North American genus Eriogonum. The crop plant, common buckwheat, is Fagopyrum esculentum. Tartary buckwheat (F. tataricum Gaertn.) or "bitter buckwheat" is also used as a crop, but it is...
  4. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  5. I found that I can't take it every night because I quickly build up a tolerance. I have not noticed any ill effects or even become remotely addicted to it. For occaisonal use it works really well.
  6. To be proactive and take control of your life and health is hard work. Most people prefer to passively let life happen to them because it is the easy way out. I refuse to waste any energy or time on these kinds of people. I have better things to do.
  7. Because they can't write a prescription for it. No drugs, no kickbacks.
  8. I had it when I was 3 or 4.
  9. I have found doctors to be a group of people who are completely incapable of thinking outside of the box. All they are taught to do is write prescriptions and when someone comes along that a prescription won't fix they just stare at you like a deer in the headlights. When it comes to nutrition all they know is the same tired old mantra, "Eat your Wheaties...
  10. I only take it when I can't sleep or really need to be rested up for the next day. If I take it every night I seem to build up a tolerance to it. I haven't noticed anything unusual if I wake up during the night.
  11. I take it from time to time and it really works. It doesn't give me that drugged out sleep you get with other sleep aids. Never had any side effects or other problems with it.
  12. I used to have all kinds of sleep problems but after nearly two years I rarely do. Melatonin helps when I can't get to sleep.
  13. Preperation H could double their market share overnight if they advertised that fact. Fast, soothing relief and look years younger all in one application.
  14. Appendectomy at age 25. Still got my tonsils.
  15. I used to get them so bad I had to put a plastic cover on my mattress and would wake up in a puddle of sweat an inch or more deep . Since going gluten-free I haven't had them at all except for one time I got glutened.
  16. When I eat gluten I gain weight, get gas and bloating. The symptoms of gluten intolerance can vary widely from one person to the next. Have you eliminated all gluten from your diet?
  17. I could have easily been taking 60 pills a day with all of the crap that the doctors prescribed for me. Joe C may have known he had celiac but from my experience he could have been under the care of doctors that knew nothing about the disease. I went to at least 30 different doctors and not one of them ever suggested a food allergy. It does sound like Joe...
  18. I have found conflicting information on beer and whiskey and would like to know more. After drinking a beer I don't notice any symptoms like I would if I ate a piece of bread. I only drink the dark beers like stouts and brown ales. I only have about 1 or 2 beers a month so that might be why I don't notice anything. Any info would be helpful. Ianm
