  1. I find that responders often do not listen to what is said in responses or in original posts. My magnesium levels and other labs were posted and I know I don't have asthma. Neither of those things mattered. As long as something unexpected happened to someone then it has happened to me, and nothing I can say is anything other than meaningless noise until someone...
  2. For years, I've been using Kiss My Face olive oil soap (not for my face, but mostly hand washing). It is the best. It's got three ingredients (I think) and is mostly olive oil (over 80%). Now, it's no more, for one reason or another. Does anyone know of a suitable replacement? Preferably one with very very few ingredients. Thanks.
  3. Without a lot more information, no. Do you think it might be a hernia? What do you think it is?
  4. Exactly. Am I not making myself clear? I mentioned the obesity in relation to the previous posters' linkages to CRP and asthma.
  5. The study states, "In patients with OSAS, the primary factors influencing levels of CRP were severity of OSAS and body mass index and those influencing levels of IL-6 were body mass index and nocturnal hypoxia." (I did note that we don’t have the hard numbers from that abstract.) And did you notice it said severity of OSAS and BMI? My post from Nov 2...
  6. Wellllll, I think I would know if my bronchioles were malfunctioning and I was clogged with mucus! There are direct physical signs that can diagnose asthma (hyperexpansion of the chest, and expiratory wheezing heard on auscultation of the chest, and so on). And as I said, I did do some of my own PFTs. We know what the symptoms are of an acute asthma...
  7. Thanks. I did a home sleep study and was shown to have severe sleep apnea, pretty much just sleep apnea. No asthma. I've done my own PFTs and they're more or less ok, and feel that I'd probably know it if I had asthma. Thanks for weighing in!
  8. I was hoping by my posting my recent labs, I would help you! If you read the labs that I posted, you see that I am not mag deficient. I did the correct test (the RBC one), in case you are interested to read the labs again. Also the results of my methylmalonic acid combined with the homocysteine levels mean I’m not B12 deficient either (and I do supplement t...
  9. Lab tests from 2 days ago. As Linda Richmond might say, talk among yourselves...
  10. Thanks for the enthusiasm for magnesium and D3. I guess in my case ya gotta dance with the one that brung ya. Meaning, I was hoping to talk about sleep apnea. But most who responded (or, more) touted the wonders of D3 and magnesium. And so I will deal with that. It’s worth researching, for sure. And I am seriously considering everything, but I do wonder -...
  11. The Psychology Today article you quote says exactly the opposite of that, if I am reading it correctly: Vitamin D. Vitamin D may increase the amount of magnesium the body absorbs. This is more likely when taking high doses of Vitamin D. Plumbago
  12. "What I am trying to point out is that there is no known reason for sleep apnea." Are we sure about that? There are some well-established risk factors, such as overweight. And according to the Mayo Clinic, the following are also risk factors: Neck circumference. A narrowed airway. Being male. Being older. Family history...
  13. Thanks. You mentioned you were morbidly obese. Did your D levels improve before the weight loss? Is that how you know it was the D that did it? I ask because it’s often difficult to figure things out when two or more factors are changed at the same time. From my initial reading, I see that being overweight is perhaps the strongest risk factor for sleep a...
  14. Thanks you two. Those look like some good links, Kitty. Do you have sleep apnea? I get my D levels taken yearly. Last year it was way up (for me) in the upper 70s, this year a bit lower in the 40s or 50s if I recall. I am trying to be better about remembering to take my weekly 50,000 IU of D3. I tend to think my apnea is structural/anatomical but we...
  15. Hi Everyone, I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. Not mild sleep apnea, mind you, but severe sleep apnea. I was floored, stunned, dismayed, shocked, resistant, the whole kit n caboodle. I just couldn't get over it. But whatever, apparently I have it, and I'm now on a cpap, or to be technical, an apap (automatic positive air pressure). Just wanted...
  16. After reading, I think it's for a Netflix program that will be aired in 2019, and they don't know the dx yet. I don't think it's made up. You can always use a secondary "throw away" email address, as opposed to your primary one.
  17. What Is Causing This Woman’s Life-Threatening Anemia? https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/10/01/magazine/netflix-diagnosis-series-sherry.html?action=click&module=Editors%20Picks&pgtype=Homepage
  18. Yes. B12 deficiency is the reason your red blood cells are enlarged (macrocytic anemia). "High iron" can occur in liver disease and probably with other things, too, such as a type of thalassemia. I am no expert on either one, and I'm not sure why you are asking the question, reviving a topic from 8 years ago? Iron and anemia are very complicated...
  19. First of all, that is very thoughtful of you! Can you ask her what her preference is? Myself, I am using cookware that I had pre-celiac days. I have made sure to clean it well, and often, and am pretty sure I'm ok. I'm not sure about a slow cooker. But, I used to use one that I bought second hand off Craigslist, and it was fine, as far as I know. The baking...
  20. A blender is man and woman's best friend. When leaving town for a few days and you still have veggies left, blend them. Even broccoli, yes broccoli. Cucumbers, carrots, cauliflower - greens, leafy greens, brassicas, all of our very very healthy favorites can be blended into a dip or sauce that can be made to taste good. Add pepper, peppers, some still-good...
  21. Again, apologies for the earlier comment of mine. I really should not speculate (but I probably will!), however, one thing stood out to me in your original post was that you are trying, it seems, two things at once: B vitamins, probiotics, etc and the gluten free diet. In order to better notice the efficacy (or lack) of any remedy or thing you may try...
  22. Apologies! It was from someone else, not you. I am so sorry. Plumbago
  23. I would be more inclined to help if you could reconcile your post from 7 years ago in which you stated you had been having facial swelling for one year. Plumbago
  24. I would say give it more time, but first a couple of questions: Are you on any medications? Can you say more about the timing of the colon pain? Before or after you eat? Before or after a BM? Now I see that you say it is continuous. Is that really the case, or is it worse at times than others? My hunch is that you are on the right track, as many of your other...
